AAA++++ Tried this steamer at a clients housewith five pets and it did exactly what I wanted the Bissell Steamer to do, cut through nasty pet and cooking stains, hair balls, jam and more. As an owner of 3 cats and a chef I highly recommend this. Comes in 3 parts and 30 sec assembly. Video below was it's first test at home right out of the box. This mess is dried on spilled egg, from making Panko mushrooms and zucchini last week, that I spilled down the side of my oven and counter last week. I had the Bissell Power steamer 2685 series, Heavy Duty Steam Mop I spent $150+ on two years ago. This steamer just never worked good and I regret not sending it back withing the return time. It stopped working completely and started clicking right after it's warranty expired conveniently enough of course. I ordered this to replace it and I am thrilled at the results. Even with the weird angle with my oven pulled out it was super satisfying to be able to blast/melt it away the dried on egg mess with the strong steam jet. I struggled a little because of the angle in the video but it shoots out a steady blast of hot steam when flip the pad over and you are hitting a spot head on and boy was this egg super dooper hard to remove, I tried!! This passed the test with flying colors. My favorite feature, other than the steam blaster, is the touch-free technology. I don't have to ever touch a gross hairball pad again! Just click the pad release button and bam it's off. To put a pad on click the button to undo the grabbers and plop onto of a new pad, click clack each side and away you go! I ordered a 6 pack of extra pads too. Whoo hoo thank you for making a kick arse product! 😺 😺 😺 🧑‍🍳Only negative thing is that I highly suggest keeping a watch on the price, after ordering one within 2 days it dropped $20, I hadn't even opened it yet so I ordered another and sent the $20 more expensive one back. I wish Amazon did a 30day price match like other retailers like 🎯 to avoid this issue in the future, they don't state that they do when I went looking, I was later told my a friend that you just have to call Amazon and they will refund the difference over the phone, maybe put that in the returns section in writing to avoid excess use of shipping/ CO2 gas and shipping wait times in the future. I paid $59.99 for this one.

I love it. For a good deep clean this is the BEST! 3 settings of heat, easy to use, pads replaced without touching them. I love it. I know it says not for carpet but I do run it over my area rugs to freshen them up and it works beautifully. Great price for a power house cleaner.

I have used Shark mops before and always loved them, but I was enticed by the allure of cordless mopping and regrettably switched to Swiffers and other mops of its type. BIG MISTAKE. My tile floors always looked disgusting and had horrible chemical buildup that left my floors constantly streaky and full of footprints. I was being driven insane, but I had an older model Shark that I lost the pads for. Started searching and came across this newer Shark and went for it. First of all, this model is genius, no pun intended. The ability to flip the head and use both sides to clean is AWESOME, and the standby mode is something I wished older Sharks had because sometimes you have to leave the mop sitting because you can't access the plug, and standby ensures that it's not just sitting there constantly making steam when idle. Being able to drop the mop head without having to touch it is a great feature. And the localized steam blast is a great touch that I'm glad they added. My floors are FINALLY CLEAN! And using just water! I also like the Low, Medium and High modes. And this Shark is actually attractive looking! The purple Sharks are cute, but this model is a lot nicer looking to me. I'm not even mad that I have to use a cord to mop, because it's quite long and allows me pretty good access all around the house with minimal unplugging. This model has soooo much more to it than my older Shark, so I'm glad I spent the $100 for this one - it's a great price. It has worked great for me so far and I'm glad I made this purchase!

I have had my vinyl, textured wood floors for 10 years. I wish I had had the Shark all that time. I finally have clear floors! The dirt of ten years of kids and pets and everyone traipsing through the house is GONE. I deep clean the filth spots that my mop never got by using the steam spray feature. You can always use a separate brush if it is too deep down. The floors sparkle. This is a brilliant invention and seems to be made very well. I wash the pad each time and it holds its shape. Also, getting it on and off is so easy. No struggling or bending. There are 3 settings depending on the type of floor you have. I started with the high steam setting to get back to baseline cleanliness. Now, I can use the low setting which is appropriate for my floor. The price was perfect too. It is worth every penny. It was just over $100. Good price for such a great powerhouse machine. It takes some muscle to use if you are doing an intense cleaning, but it is good exercise. That is house cleaning for you! 100% rating as far as I am concerned.

So I finally got around to using the mop...I’m really not overly fastidious, so I’ve had it for maybe six weeks. I bought this within a few days of my other steam mop giving up the ghost. And since I did have something to compare it to and since I read so many of the reviews, I was a little hesitant to dive in on this mop - or any steam mop. They’re not inexpensive and it is a bit of an investment. I think this cost about the same as my previous steam mop cost.

Anyway, I decided to give it a try today. The instructions are reasonably clear; if you’ve ever used a steam mop, I’d imagine they’re all similar anyway.

I went large and bought the recommended distilled water for this mop. I don’t know if that’s why my other one failed, but thought it’s a reasonable cost to help ensure this one lasts a bit.

It’s super easy to fill using the little cup provided by the manufacturer. And in under thirty seconds, I had steam and was ready to mop.

The cloth mop is easy to attach and stayed in without any issues.

The cord is more than adequate for my purposes; my kitchen isn’t very large. It does get in the way a bit, but there is a little guide attached to the handle. I slipped the cord in there and that helped.

The biggest issue with this mop is that, as others have mentioned, it has no way to secure the whole thing in an upright position. I propped it up against something that held it in place. And it stayed out and didn’t slide down when propped up, so that’s a plus.

The mop head is on a cool swivel mechanism, which makes it easy to slide under and around immovable objects. But it also feels like I’m operating a drunken sailor. The mop head has a mind of its own. The instructions say to mop in a "forward and backward motion." This is easier said than done and takes a little getting used to. If there was a locking mechanism of some sort, I’d go all the way with five stars. That’s all that holds me back.

I really like the option of low-medium-high settings. As I have a laminate floor in the kitchen, I set it at low. I was a bit doubtful this would be enough. But to my surprise and delight, it’s more than adequate. It honesty took me longer to the ready the kitchen to mop than it did to actually mop. The steam dries incredibly fast - but, it is summer so it's warm. It might be different when the weather cools.

I gave the cloth mop head a quick clean in the sink directly after mopping. In the past, I found this helped to keep them from staining so badly. The mop heads do get really dirty, you know. So I was happy this was easy enough to wash in the sink with a little Dawn dish soap. I’ll wash it with towels later, but for now it’s clean-ish and drying in the laundry area.

All-in-all, I’m very happy with this purchase and I’d recommend it to anyone who just wants to mop floors and get on with life.

This is my third Shark in the past 15 years. My 8 year old Professional Shark still works but wanted to upgraded. The Genius is easier to use and does a better job cleaning tile floors so it was worth the upgrade. I gave my old Pro Shark to one of my children.
