Product Description

EK-CryoFuel Mystic Fog is a unique semi-transparent coolant based on a new formula with long-lasting stability and vivid addressable D-RGB reactivity. The coolant carries the essential synergistic corrosion inhibitors promoting long and safe operational life for your liquid cooling products and high thermal efficiency.

The key feature of the new coolant formula is the perfect ratio of suspended particles versus the clear coolant basis which gives the coolant the unique ability to disperse light. This will provide the best possible foundation for vivid addressable D-RGB effects inside your liquid cooling system.

The coolant will not sediment after long hours of inactivity of the cooling loop. For the best light dispersion effects of EK-CryoFuel Mystic Fog, it's recommended to replace the coolant every 6 months.

The EK-CryoFuel Mystic Fog is a complete premix that has the following key characteristics:

- contains corrosion and scale inhibitors
- good heat transfer characteristics
- color pigments don't leave residue
- high specific heat
- chemically stable
- low viscosity
- non-toxic

All EK-CryoFuel mixtures are biodegradable (90% in a period of 10 days) and will not remain in the environment or bioaccumulate.

Characteristics:

- low electrical conductivity
- corrosion protection according to BS5117 (ASTM D1384) standards
- high quality concentrated pigments for intense, vivid and saturated colors
- compatible with Acrylic, PETG, POM Acetal, rubber (NBR, EPDM, and Norprene) materials
- eco-friendly (90% biodegradable in 10 days)
- 2-year shelf life after bottling
- UV Reactive: Yes

(UPDATED) - The only opaque coolant that holds up over time.
I have been building custom waterloops for well over 10 years and used dozens of different coolants. When running opaque coolants, even semi-opaque like this EK Mystic Fog, they alway, and do mean 100% of the time, break down over time and you always end up with a chalky mess of sediments in your loop to scrub out. It's the accepted trade off you need to be aware of when running a solid color type coolant. That is until I stumble across EK Mystic Fog. It's probably considered semi-opaque because it's ever so slightly transparent and a very effective substitute. Looks absolutely fantastic with a milky white glow and very UV reactive. And by far the best part.. IT DOESN'T BREAK DOWN! To my complete amazement when going to do an upgrade after about 4 months with this coolant, I drained it and could not believe my eyes. Absolutely no sediments anywhere in the loop. This is the ones guys! If you are going to that white coolant look get this stuff. Period.UPDATED REVIEW:Almost 1 year later and on my second bottle of premix. As I stated above in my original review, I did a drain and inspection at 4 months. Everything looks great without any breakdown of the coolant so I did a basic distilled water flush and refilled the loop with a fresh premix bottle of Mystic Fog. Now 8 months later it looks as good as the day I put it in. No noticeable breakdown, sentiment or loss of opacity. Mystic Fog is the real deal. It keeps all my temps in check just as good and any other quality coolant and looks great. If you want that white looks this is honestly the best option. It's plenty white-enough and saves you hours of otherwise teardown and cleaning by hand. Worth every penny! I added some pics I took today at the 8 month mark.

At the time of writing this I have had this coolant in my system for 8 months. Even after daily use and going through multiple drains and refills from upgrading parts the coolant color has held up and none of fins have clogged. I have tried many different coolants from different brands and their color usual separates, causing the "boldness" of the color to fade and sometimes even gunk up the fins of the cold plates. So far this stuff has not weaken, left any residue, grown anything, or clog anything.

stay away from this stuff unless it's for show use only. I saw reviews stating that it holds it's color and won't settle out like the fully opaque fluids will but of course this is after about 4 months. I started to notice it looked a lot more clear and after looking back at the first picture on day 1 I can clearly tell just how bad it is. DONT trust the reviews stating that it holds up because they're either a few weeks old or (less likely I think) they got a magic sample that doesn't settle out of solution. now just like I figured, I have to drain all of this crap out and spend the time cleaning all of it out of the blocks. stay away from this

I feel like this coolant is NOT using a 'solid' in it but something along the lines of some kind of 'tech' similar to liquid crystals without the residue. EK does say to flush and clean your loop every 6-12 months with this coolant, but thus far about a month into the running, I see no sediment collecting to fins, tubing, distro plate, or at the bottom thereof. Hopefully over the term it'll stay that way and when that day comes I'll come back and update the review.

This coolant works best with 'bright' colors. Meaning it picks up the hue/shade of the brighter colors of the spectrum than 'dull' colors. As you can see in these pics I did the 'frosty' like color from messing around until it looked right in the spectrum. Other bright colors like neon green, bright green, bright red, deep red, purples, blues, bright yellow, etc do extremely well with this coolant for effect.

Bravo to EKWB for figuring this out so that people don't have to go with frosted tubes for the same effect with more stuff.

update 2/2/2022 (blue rgb pic)will clog pumps/system!!! after 19 resets and power downs this morning i realized system was boiling hot and throttling itself to nothing, looked at the systems Thermaltake w7 plus water block (cpu block) and it was bubbling inside. pump was full to the max, thank god i put a pressure vent in. i turned system on, while tapping on my ekwb d5 pump with handle of pliers, then i hear and see it push something through. fished it out and was a clot of white nastiness. this system had never seen any coolant of any color. maybe its my fault or maybe not either way i would not buy this for long term, i wouldn't recommend it at all, really its just a gimmick to get you to but it.
its coolant, its cloudy, if your going for a look you would be better off with plain white, a cloudy mix, or just clear. The colors only transfer through if the lights/fans are close behind the water line. if the lighting effect is what you are looking for than don't waste your money on this. come on ekwb your better then this, at least lower the price there has to be some kind of incentive to keep buying this. Camara makes it look alot better than it does in real life.

1.0 out of 5 stars ATTENZIONE, è un pastel!
Reviewed in Italy on December 4, 2023
