The first one was a bad product. They sent a replacement. The replacement worked ok for a few months then it started having MAJOR issues. Reached out to tech support (over Facebook) and no help there. Over priced paperweight.UPDATE: A few months later the replacement went out. I was using it 6-12 hours a night, 5 days a week for a live stream. Very unreliable!!! It won’t register ANY inputs. 0/10 don’t recommend.

It’s the perfect tool for the non tech savvy user but also for the heavy user too. Upgrades came so often and always adding value to the product. I've had the mini for a week and I'm having a blast using it for my live stream one man show online. Once you understand the YBmini's hardware strengths and it's limitations you can create some amazingly professional shoes.

Some Strengths: ease of getting online and streaming, green screen is simple and effective, ability to add scorces and coming up with new ones by combining, record stream to SD card and use SD card properties in the same stream, super portable for location streaming

Some negatives: paid bonding icon takes up valuable real estate on screen(should be option in settings menu), lack of app control (even a $20 RGB light has iOS and Android remote control), switcher and text overlays are on separate screens making text usage inefficient, inability to load images or video using USB ports requiring the SD card to be removed every time you need to load it with pre-recorded stream content

Finally I have to question the lack of a basic video editor baked into the Yolobox mini. This is Android based with a decent cpu. Why not give us a one track editor like cap cut and the ability to trim down recorded footage and upload it online.

Despite my negatives I am still enjoying there Yolobox mini. I definitely can recommend it as a buy.

This is a great product for the live stream beginner (me when I bought it). But...

Pluses.
Affordable. For simple one camera streaming this replaces a computer, video capture card, and streaming software.
Portable. Easier for field ops than a computer.
Overlays. Add graphics and text to your HDMI feed.
The device manufacturer frequently rolls out new software features.
The hardware is reliable.

Minuses.
Glitchy software. Streams break and the device sometimes locks up requiring a restart.
The device itself cannot be expanded to grow as you do (as you can do with the computer).
The mini doesn't get the update attention of the more expensive pro. If I could turn back the clock, I would get the pro, even as a beginner.
The USB input has limited use.

Bottom line: if your live stream is a show with live chat engagement and things that appear on the screen, then go with a computer based set up. If you need portability and one hdmi input is enough, then use the mini. If multiple camera inputs over HDMI then use the pro.

The first one was a bad product. They sent a replacement. The replacement worked ok for a few months then it started having MAJOR issues. Reached out to tech support (over Facebook) and no help there. Over priced paperweight.
UPDATE: A few months later the replacement went out. I was using it 6-12 hours a night, 5 days a week for a live stream. Very unreliable!!! It won’t register ANY inputs. 0/10 don’t recommend.
