My review is written voluntarily after listening to the audio version of this exciting story.

I have to say it, I'm loving this series especially as it features all the characters who over time have begun to feel like old friends. Don't get me wrong I'm loving getting more insight into Nigellus and what makes him tick but the added bonus of Rans, Zorah, Len etc., makes it a treat to sit down and listen to this one.

The storyline is every bit as exciting and detailed as I've come to expect from this talented author, her world-building and descriptive writing make her books so wonderful to listen to, I just close my eyes and I'm there standing beside the characters. Drawn into their story by the excellent narration of Gwendolyn Druyor who has done such an outstanding job on almost all of Ms Stefan's books. In this instalment, the mad Fae Queen is still at large and has made it back to the Fae Realm and plans to launch a super weapon against Hell itself. Nigelius has taken a wounded Neveah to Hell thinking this is the best way to keep her safe during the oncoming war but it's not in her nature to just accept things, something he should have already learned by now.

I didn’t want to stop listening and I couldn’t believe it when I reached the end, there was still so much to learn, I was disappointed to find I had to stop listening just as the story was ramping up! Please write faster Ms Steffan - I need to know more!

Has Nigellus met his match in Neveah? Personally, I think this combination of an Archangel and a Demon is perfect but only time will tell.

It actually kills me to write this because I have never given this author a bad review. I absolutely adore every book they have written. I came close to giving a bad review with the last one because of the angel but I tried to focus on the other characters. In this one though her idiotic moves just destroy the book. It wouldn't be nearly as bad if the characters had not already be shown as having common sense and being pragmatic in every other aspect of her life. But she was just flat idiotic with the Alice and mab situation no matter how much she forced everyone to suffer while claiming she didn't want a single hand suffering. I truly don't even think I can read the next one and continue reading this author which says a lot for one of my favorites.

The war with demons and fae continue.the fae do look like the worst group and the new vampires along with the only three all look like good people maybe the Angel blood and zorahs will make them the most powerful with a little blood from all. after the angel.
