The first five books laid the out story. The last part of book five brings a fantastic ending with chapters of what happens with our main characters now and in the future. Then the best is saved for last in book six, Sea Dragon. It is amazing storytelling! Thank you Eileen Mueller for a rich and satisfying conclusion. Every thread with important characters (main and minor) is detailed with their personal stories and the rich tapestry of how each part played by all brought about the series conclusion. These intertwined characters with their hope filled futures is laid out. When you finish, there will be a sigh of satisfaction! It’s complete!

This first in the series (set of 6) was sword and sorcery, epic fantasy book with a side dish of slow burn YA romance that reminded me of Eragon. But then all dragon books remind me of Eragon. 17yo Ezaara has been raised by her parents to swordfight and know ber herbs in a backwater town that hates dragons and dragon riders. When she mind melds with the dragon queen she doesn’t have time to even say goodbye before she is thrust into the midst of intrigue and has to battle for survival. I loved the world building where everything was throught through from overlap of dragon and rider names to healing herbs and even swearwords. Quite an enjoyable read if you love dragons, sword & sorcery, epic fantasy and very very slow burn and clean romance.

I’ll continue with the series and for now am posting about the first book just so you know this is a great set to binge on.

I loved this set so much. It was hard to put down. I enjoyed how the characters met. Interactions between all of them. There was, fast action. Wars, battles, tragedy, pain , loss, sadness, and love all mixed together at the same time. I was enthralled. Laughed, cried, got angry and could not believe what was happening at times.

If you like a good fantasy with all this happening, this the book for you. I lost many hours of sleep reading this box set. It is the continuation of the fire dragon series with Anakishna as queen dragon rider. READ this set. You can read it as a continuation or by it's self.
