I don't usually write reviews, but just could not resist. I have tried the usual liquid food colorings, and the colors are not prominent, even if you use a whole lot. I have also tried the Wilson brand gels, which is a little inconveniently messy and not as vibrant as this Chefmaster's brand. Thus far this is the BEST, OG of food colorings. I used it in my rainbow cakes, and not much is needed. It's also convenient and less messy to drip directly from the bottle, not having to take it out of the container like the Wilson brand. It does not have a taste that I have noticed. Package came on time and was packed nicely, nothing damaged. Price wise, it could be a little cheaper, but it surpasses the rest.

These coloring agents are strong and highly saturated. Their consistency, somewhere between liquid and gel, makes dosing drops quite easy and repeatable. The lids on the little bottles close well, with a snap, reducing the chance these liquids will dry out over time.

I bought these initially to paint Easter eggs, but the DIY-er I am I can think already of other uses such as coloring plastic castings.

As for Easter eggs, it takes experimentation to get it right. Lots of drops, vinegar, and high temperature gets to deep colors quickly, but they also permeate through the egg shells causing amusing discoloration of the egg whites. Plus it can lead to uneven spots and lines. I found that slowing the process down by reducing color concentration, acidity, and water temperature gets to better results. It's all a balance.

For next year I'll be practicing well before Easter to optimize the process, something I would advise anybody seeking to achieve perfectly colored Easter eggs. Don't wait until the day itself.

Summing up: a fine product from a pedigreed company, well packaged, and the price is right.
