Pro Mix Power with a Simple Workflow

You don’t need a large, complicated mixer to achieve pro-quality live sound, and you don’t need to compromise on power for a simple design that’s easy for anyone to use. With the QSC TouchMix series of digital live sound mixers, you’ve got serious connectivity, routing, and effects processing in an intuitive design. QSC’s TouchMix is versatile enough to manage a wide range of medium- and small-format mixing tasks, while its touchscreen interface and built-in user help make it easy for almost anyone to use. If your goal is to have outstanding sound quality and extensive mix capabilities in the smallest form factor possible, you’ll be impressed with the QSC TouchMix series.

Smart and simple for anyone to use

While the QSC TouchMix series packs the connectivity and processing capabilities of much more complicated mixers, its simple interface and built-in help make it easy for anyone to use. Whether or not you’re experienced with setting up a mixing board, the TouchMix series is designed to help you get great sound fast. In Simple Mode, your TouchMix mixer will optimize channel and effects settings for the best results in a variety of settings, similar to the "Auto" function on a DSLR camera. An index of presets helps you find the best sound possible for vocals, guitars, drums, or any other sound source. And if you ever need some extra help navigating the TouchMix interface, there’s a handy "Info" button that will explain any feature or parameter for you right on the touchscreen display.

Power and sound quality any pro will appreciate

Even though the TouchMix series is designed to be easy for anyone to use, it has everything any experienced professional needs. While beginners may use the Simple Mode, Effects Wizard, and Gain Wizard to get a great sound, there’s nothing keeping you from tweaking everything yourself in the Advanced Mode to fine-tune the sound of your production. All input channels have a 4-band parametric EQ, as well as a gate and compressor. All aux outputs, DCAs, mute groups, and main outputs have a 1/3-octave graphic EQ, notch filters, limiters, and delay. You have all the tools you need to mix any show with confidence.

Monitor any way you like with versatile aux sends

Unlike many compact mixers in this class, the QSC TouchMix-16 gives you six aux sends for comprehensive monitoring options. And while you can set up individual monitor mixes and send them to typical stage monitors, the TouchMix’s aux sends also let you drive in-ear monitors or headphones directly. So if the TouchMix is onstage with the performers, you can connect IEMs without having to connect a separate headphone amplifier/distributor.

Record and play back tracks from a hard drive

Recording your live shows is easy with the QSC TouchMix series — you don’t even need a computer or separate recorder. Just connect an external USB hard drive to your TouchMix mixer and you’re good to go. You’ll be able to record all inputs, as well as a combined stereo mix, in 32-bit Broadcast Wave format. You can play back recorded tracks through the mixer as backing tracks or import them into your DAW software later for mixing.

Manage your mix anywhere in the room via built-in Wi-Fi

With your tablet or smartphone, you can adjust virtually every parameter on the TouchMix mixer from anywhere in the room. The free remote control app controls all mixer parameters, making it easy to walk the room or tweak monitor mixes from the stage. Best of all, you don’t need any additional hardware to connect wirelessly! Your TouchMix series mixer comes with a Wi-Fi adapter that creates the network connection between your mixer and your device.

Sweet!

I really like this thing. Very easy to learn coming from an analog mixer. Touchmix on top, Samsung tablet on the bottom. Works flawlessly together. You will have to buy an individual audio interface if you plan to play music from your computer through this mixer. I'm using a Focusrite Rite Scarlet Solo interface. No issues at all
Music background: 32 year's running live sound almost every night.

QSC touch mix 16

I can't tell you how impressed I have been with the ease of use and the support videos that have made this transition from an analog mixer to the digital format nearly flawless. I looked at many brands before making the choice, and the conversations. the constant support with follow up calls and just an honest genuine concern from my sales rep Andrew Williams has given me confidence that I can move from old school to new tech when it comes to live sound has been incredible! Again, the new mixer is great, but Andrew was the difference maker!
Thanks again,
Chuck Dyke

TouchMix16 Review

I have been a Presonus user for a long time, so when a colleague introduced me to the TouchMix, I was skeptical. But I must say, I am extremely impressed with this powerful little heavy hitter! The versatility of this machine is unmatched by any I have seen in its class. The tonal structure is absolutely amazing! The presets, Feedback Wizard and so many features I am still discovering, well, a lot of bang for the buck! My only critique would be to create a more visible recording platform like Presonus has done with its Capture software.

Great piece of equipment

I'm in my fourth year of using this mixer as a gigging musician. I run sound and perform in two bands and have used this mixer extensively for live performance as well as rehearsal.

It is without a doubt one of the best purchases I have ever made as far as a piece of musical equipment. it has been extremely useful for my purposes

Well over 100 gigs in every conceivable environment

Many more rehearsals

We use this for places where we have to run our own sound. That will include many bars, breweries, and outdoor events up to maybe three or 400 people. It's simply perfect for that application.

Extremely easy to use. For me, the Wi-Fi dongle and iPad use has been extremely good with consistent range of up to about 150 feet certainly enough for the stages we play as well as for a soundman if we use them to control the iPad. I have had two or three times where the link up was slow or got stuck and that's over many gigs and rehearsals. As this solved with rebooting the iPad, It may be an iPad issue.

I have recorded every gig and every rehearsal in multi track with absolutely no issues. I use the recommended Samsung 500 GB hard drive. You must use an adequate USB drive. Recording 16 tracks typically at about 2 1/2 hours of recording, It will warn you to stop the recording and restart it. If you don't do this, you may run the risk of having data drop. This has Happened to me a couple times. You just need to be cognizant of this and just be aware of that limitation. You do get a warning. It may be more limitation of continuous data storage than a limitation of the mixer.

I have found the interface extremely easy to use and very complete. The gain problems that some people talk about I have not experienced. You can add digital gain for weak sources if necessary. I do wish I could control the master trim remotely. That would be great on the next evolution of this mixer.

Preamp sound quality and recording sound quality is excellent IMO

The number of auxes are perfect for the bands I am in. everybody gets their own monitor, everybody can control their own monitor mix if they want. I run a separate aux out for subwoofers as well.

I have used Reverb and delay effects, and these are fantastic for what I need them for. I have not used many of the other effects.

Compressor and limiters on the channels work great for my use.

Phantom power works great no issues

The graphic EQ, and automated feedback detection system, as well as RTAs, are fantastic and very useful

I have done many outside gigs with this piece of equipment, in weather ranging from 45° to 98° in the sun. I have not had any heating problems or shut offs from overheating. In fact last weekend I played a gig where it was 92° at sound check and I couldn't shade the mixer. Direct sunlight. I did put a towel over it when I wasn't actively mixing, But I did not have any issues with overheating.

Power supply and connections have been rock solid

I would strongly recommend buying a custom Road case which are available at Sweetwater. Extremely handy.

Bottom line, at the risk of jinxing myself, I have extensively used this piece of equipment, it has worked well as a mixer for a working band playing primarily bar and midsize outdoor gigs. I would highly recommend it for this purpose. But you could use it for bigger gigs as well. It would also be an extremely good rehearsal mixer if you were mostly playing bigger places that had their own PA system.

Many times we will play a larger place with much more expensive mixing boards and I will not be able to get a multi track recording like we do with this board. My guys don't dig that so much.
