Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Customers are mixed about the sound quality of the adapter. Some mention that the sound is great 90% of the time, the range of volume is excellent, and the headphones are the best combination of noise-cancelling and sound fidelity they've ever experienced. However, others say that there are now static sounds when they put their phone in their pocket, there is a big drop in sound quality when they were talking via AIRMOD, and that the up button plays a very loud beep when it's already at max volume. At very high volumes some distortion is noticeable, but the fidelity is strong at much higher volumes. While being charged, the headset will start to beeper once it is down to only 30%, and it can occasionally cause the headphones to distort.

They say that it charges quickly and gives a predictable battery run time of over 6 hours. However, other customers say that the internal battery lifetime is limited and the battery doesn't hold its charge. They also mention that there's no low battery warning.
"...Quickly charges and gives predictable battery run time of over 6 hours, generating terrific sound over the bluetooth...." Read more

Customers are mixed about the charging of the adapter. Some mention that the connection was good, charging is convenient, and quickly charges, while others say that the charging methodology is weird and the charging cable is not standard.

My Bose QC25 has not been used for some time now due to the ear pads disintegrating and damage to the original cord.
I decided to rehab them for a trip with about 6 hours of flight time each way. I bought the Bolle and Raven bluetooth adapter in combination with replacement ear pads from Wicked Cushions and a Bose OEM audio cable with 4 contacts.
Very pleased.
Pros
- Lightweight and sleek. Do not even notice it is there.
- Independent volume control (big plus; the volume control only adjusts the headphone volume level not the overall device volume).
- Buttons are recognizable to the touch and mostly make sense.
- Sound is equatable to corded.
- Can still fold headphones into case with it attached.
Cons
- Volume and Play/Pause buttons are a bit too close to one another. Still easy to use, but a bit more space would make them faster to use without having to feel it over.
- Have to unplug from headphones to charge (charge cable is 3.5mm connector to usb).
- No battery indicator relayed to devices.
Observations
All observations were made using an iPhone SE (3rd Gen) and an iPad Pro 10.5".
Sound- perhaps debatable. I switched back and forth from corded to the adapter and did not detect any noticeable difference. Hard to be sure as the process required a moment to switch from one to the other. Any differences I thought I noticed may have been illusory. Did not test back and forth with calls.
Fit- the unit inserted snugly into place. I did not experience any looseness. Not difficult to insert or remove.
Build- the quality is good if your are treating the headphones and unit with respect.
Battery- I did not test the battery to full drain, but used it for most of a 6 hour flight with no sign it was about to stop.
Range- Their site claims up to 30ft of range, but mine went further as follows:
iPhone SE:
Indoors going through 2 walls to outdoors location- 33ft
Outdoors straight line of sight- approx 100ft
iPad Pro 10.5:
Indoors going through 2 walls to outdoors location- 40ft
Outdoors straight line of sight- approx 78ft
(The range footages are subjective and determined at a point where a downloaded podcast started to reliably become too spotty. The iPad performed better at broadcasting through walls while the iPhone SE performed better at line of sight.)
Conclusion
For the purposes I needed it to serve, this was a great way to help resurrect some good, old headphones. I wanted them for noise cancelling while flying, doing housework or really anything else without risking any newer headphones.
I procured the Bolle and Raven QC25 adapter, replacement ear pads from Wicked Cushions and a replacement 4-contact Bose OEM audio cable at a cost of around $98 USD total.
Would recommend to anyone that asks.

AFTER A COUPLE OF WEEKS OF REGULAR USE, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ADAPTER, BUT WITH SOME RESERVATIONS:
First the Less than AWESOME aspects that give this FOUR stars instead of five:
1) the AIRMOD only pairs with one device at a time. To reliably / easily pair with a new device, make sure to drop it from your old device first (FROM INSIDE THAT SEPARATE DEVICE'S BLUETOOTH SETTINGS) or the pairing will fail on the new device. BUT... once paired, it is 100% reliable in re-pairing up with the phone or laptop or whatever else you have chosen. I LOVE it! Just know the limitations. One day, I came to work WITHOUT my laptop, but had paired the headphones TO my laptop previously back at home the day before. There was NO way to pair them to my iPhone while I was at work without my laptop. I had to wait until I got home, then went to my laptop's bluetooth settings to "forget" the AIRMOD. Then the iPhone quickly paired up with the AIRMOD, no issue at all. So, pairing is super easy, provided that you do the trick I mentioned above.
2) Call quality is quite poor. I tested it in several settings by staying on the same phone call, switching from AIRMOD to the cord of my QC25 headphones. The contrast between the two phone call scenarios was quite marked. The people I was talking to were very clearly noticing the big drop in sound quality when I was talking via AIRMOD. I will simply not use the AIRMOD for phone calls, plain and simple.
*************
Those two complaints aside, I will mention the FIVE STAR qualities of the AIRMOD:
1) Quickly charges and gives predictable battery run time of over 6 hours, generating terrific sound over the bluetooth. If I've run the battery down and desire just an hour or so of additional time, it only requires 10 to 15 minutes to pick up an hour or two of added operating time. Love it!
2) Super reliable pairing, provided you are intending on pairing to one device only. It's not that big of a drag to pair with a second device, but you'll need to un-pair from the device you paired the headphones with (see above). Once the pairing is established, everything is perfect in reconnecting. Superb.
Again, I'll still say the AIRMOD is super great in pairing, but I'm spoiled with my Bose Soundsport Wireless earbuds that are flawless and maintain two connections simultaneously, it seems, as they switch between laptop music listening to taking a call on my phone, seamlessly, no hitches at all.
My guess regarding anyone saying it won’t pair to their device is that they’re not dealing with the one-device-at-a-time pairing restriction. If they try what I described above, they’ll get the same results, at least with a Macbook Pro and iPhone.
3) Controls: the buttons are the right sized, well placed and easily recognized by touch (keeping the headphones on your head) after just a little bit of experience. Everything works perfectly. Play/pause; accept or reject a call (too bad the quality isn't as it should be); increase/decrease volume; advance a track/go back a track; power on/off/pair. TERRIFIC controls. Great job, guys!
4) Sound (music, phone calls, what have you) that is delivered to your ears is super great. I can't discern much difference at all between corded listening and AIRMOD listening. The sound coming to your ears through AIRMOD is great quality!
5) Cordless freedom! I LOVE this aspect and range is super good too. People that complain about losing range are really pushing the limits. I've had no problems other than what I would expect (like walking out of the house and going into the yard; the connection can get lost there, but what do you expect?). If you need THAT kind of wireless broadcasting distance, buy an in-home FM transmitter built for that sort of range expansion.
6) Storage: the AIRMOD can stay physically connected to the headphones and will store nicely inside the case Bose provides.
7) Lightweight: no worries at all. You can't tell there is an added amount of weight to the left cup.
8) Cool-looking. People are intrigued and think it's cool. I might tone down the white font color of the AIRMOD, but hey, they've got to advertise; I don't fault Bolle & Raven for that. I would be proud of this too if I were them.
Bottom line: fix the phone quality and allow it to pair as flawlessly to multiple devices and you'll have FIVE PLUS stars out of this already grateful buyer.
Would I buy the AIRMOD again? ABSOLUTELY!!!! I love it and I use it every day. If you're okay with the limitations, you'll love using this adapter. I highly recommend the AIRMOD adapter to all my friends and I recommend it to you shoppers on Amazon.
Top reviews from other countries
I had my QC 25 sitting there collecting dust and this add-on brought them back to life.
Almost a year of use and keeps working perfectly.
Battery life is solid 8 hours, pairing is flawless, never had an issue, sound quality is almost imperceptible from using the wire.
The only con would be the range, you can't go too far from the phone or the connection will fall, no more than maybe 10 feet, but it's not really something to complain about or decrease the rating.
I will say, if interested, GO for it!
Of course battery life could be better, but all in all my wife is very happy with it and is using her headphones much more now that they're wireless
