I like everything about this trumpet. I played trumpet intensively 20 years ago and lately decided to play again. In the past I played on an old Elkhart Conn 38B. I loved the sound of it but always struggled with it due to its high resistance.
When starting again, I looked for a more open trumpet with a high bore size. This trumpet has a .462" bore size and a very "open" feel, which (in my case) was perfect. The tone is dark, but with the standard Vincent Bach 3B mouthpiece you can easily reach the upper register.
For me, this trumpet has worked and using some excellent video material on Youtube (from Paul mayes and Charlie Porter) I was able to get back in form.
Great trumpet for high school band. My daughter loves it. She is the trumpet section leader. If you want your kid to go to the next level in band, seriously consider this horn. Nothing else in the price range compares. You won't be disappointed.
