Paint Brush Comparison #thisorthat
The Adams Family Reviews‼️
Product Description
Silver Tip brushes are made the Wooster way, using our exclusive formula of CT (chemically tipped) polyester. This filament is very thin, flexible, and soft to virtually eliminate brush marks. Silver Tip brushes have excellent leveling and smoothing properties with all paints, but are especially suited for applying enamels to metal, varnish or polyurethane on wood, and lighter or thinner water-based coatings. The Wooster Brush Company has been manufacturing innovative, high-performance painting tools right out of Wooster, Ohio USA since 1851. Our trade names include Ultra/Pro, Advantage, Yachtsman, Shortcut paintbrushes; Super/Fab, Super Doo-Z roller covers; Sherlock frames and extension poles; Jumbo-Koter minirollers; and Prep Crew surface prep tools. You can feel confident knowing Wooster is the name behind your painting tools.

They hold three times the paint of the purdy contractor brushes and, as a result, from time to time they will drip, but that is honestly the only downside once these get broken in. They cut the cleanest lines out of any brush I've ever used (probably at least half of whats currently on the market) and the firmness is helpful when doing custom work where perfect lines are necessary.
As for how they hold up over time... We paint anywhere from 2-4 apartments a day 6-7 days a week and, using a brush per man, they hold up for 3-4 months with proper cleaning with a stiff brush and soap. They only lose their shape when the cover gets destroyed, but even then they are an incredibly effective brush. Around the 3 month mark the brush starts to kind of bell out at the tip as the bristles lose their coating, which makes cutting perfect lines a little harder in cramped spaces, but they still work up to 5 months or so for the normal cuts around switchplates, in corners, ceiling lines, etc. Even then, you more than got your money's worth as the average $10 purdy will break down long before that.
My advice... Buy one, try it and I bet 9/10 will never use another brush.
(Definitely check out the Wooster Silver Tip Thin angle sash as well, for more control in tight spots. I have small hands and carpal tunnel and can hold these comfortably for hours at a time.)
