Equipped with high performance 24-bit/192kHz AD-DA converters, Scarlett Solo has the same professional sound quality found throughout the third-generation range. Its features include a single upgraded third-generation Scarlett mic preamp with a switchable air setting to reproduce the air effect of Focusrite's original ISA mic preamp, giving your vocal recordings a brighter and a more open sound. The high impedance, high-headroom instrument input allows you to record guitar or bass without any clipping or unwanted distortion, while gain Halo metering makes it easy for you to set the input level. And Scarlett Solo's balanced outputs are hum-free when connecting studio monitors with balanced inputs, so you’ll always have pristine audio playback. Scarlett Solo is designed to stand up to days on the road and connects straight to your Mac or PC via USB cable, with no external power required.     by far the clearest voice my Shure MV7 XLR has ever produced. i’m no content creator/streamer or artist etc etc. i simply use my XLR mic for a crisp and clear voice for professionalism during my work and gaming sessions. i’ve used Auident EVO 4 before this and i regret ever buying the Audient. Focusrite is definitely the RITE choice and where your FOCUS should be when purchasing an interface. always heard such god things about them, this has for sure proved that. all my co workers and buds notice a clear difference.

    The unit is heavy and beautiful, the dials are all nice and weighty and tactile, it's super easy to power (at least through my Mac, your mileage may vary!), and the app is functional and easy to use. Safe mode, perhaps unintentionally, is also super useful in my current situation because not only does it prevent me from clipping but it also cuts out much of the echo in my untreated environment. It ain't perfect but it's better than nothing and super helpful! The only gripe I've got with this is the amount of information it asks for when installing the software, which technically isn't required but may as well be for all intents and purposes. You can skip it (thank God) but it was a bit hard to catch. Respectfully, I don't want to register my audio interface with my e-mail and a password and an account I'll never use but get lots of emails from — just want my device! So if you can get past that, and so long as they always allow users to opt out, it's a great buy that I'd ABSOLUTELY recommend!!

    I had heard of the Scarlett Focusrite Solo and 2i2 interfaces in the past, but had not purchased them due to being on a smaller budget at the time for my then AudioTechnica AT2020. I ended up settling for a Behringer UMC22 and it did do the job, but having now purchased this for my new Shure SM7B, it is amazing!

    Only unfortunate thing was that it did not come with any cables. I understand it not coming with an XLR cable, even though I'd like for it to :p, but it did not even have a USB-c power cable! :(. Thankfully, I have a ton of those from other devices (i.e. smartphones), and those did the job just fine.
