The sunday after Christmas the laser light malfunctioned. I left a message from the app at about 11am, I figured they would get back to me after the new year... no big deal. Less than 2 hours later, I recieved a response. NOT an automated one, a real person. I told them it was malfunctioning and sent them a 5 second video. They immediately replied with a link for return postage. A week later, I had my brand new Debot 950. This company and its people are amazing. Helpful and above board. I highly recommend this product and this company.
It is easy to set up, and use with Ecovacs Home. I can schedule it to clean my house when we are not home. I also can tell it to avoid some areas with electric wires or furniture, or just let it clean a certain area. All of these can easily be set by App. It also has a good sensor to avoid falling down from stairs. When vacuuming, it strengthens its suction power on carpets; when mopping, it won't wet your carpet. It also clean the areas which you may not or cannot reach to clean, like under bedding or furniture..... More than 3 hours working time, and not much noise when working.
Great Helper, highly recommend!
Edit- 8/22/19 - have been seeing some issues with the map getting overlaid for some odd reason the app says just need to return it to the charger but still unfortunate that it gets lost sometimes. Hopefully a firmware update fixes it. Will verify when I am home. Reduced a star for this annoyance.
Tested the mopping functionality last night and that was actually impressive didn’t have high hopes but it left visibly cleaner floors. Next up will test multi floor capabilities.
Edit 8-23-19 - 3 days worth of map mess ups causing me to debate this unit a bit more. I want to like it so bad with all the technical specs. More power battery cleaning ability but if it gets stuck every day it’s scheduled to run that is a bit too much to live with. Have a ticket opened with Ecovacs but no solution offered yet. The workarounds they provided are just short term. Reduced another star and debating if I want to keep it.
Evening update - tested just a single room test it got lost again. I moved the base and reset it as suggested. For 800 dollars I don’t think the software is up to par with other brands. Such a disappointment as I had high hopes after the first day and other online reviews I was seeing. Specs to specs it tops anything out there but it seems execution and mapping is what is going to be it’s downfall. Unfortunately don’t want to wait for an update and risk not being able to return it. So it’s going back. Ecovacs - more than willing to test a new update for you but unfortunately won’t have a unit anymore to test with. Minus one star. Great hardware. Poor implementation in my opinion. Just not ready for general release.
Last edit- customer service responded right away yesterday but hasn’t said a thing since the straightforward trouble shooting steps. Unfortunate for a new product to try and keep a customer you would think you would be very responsive to get it resolved and keep the 800 dollars you made off me. I think this thing has such potential just seems to be a poor implementation for real world use.
Customer support- I opened a ticket for the mapping issue and stopped receiving responses after the initial ticket. I also opened a ticket after returning the vacuum to delete my account and the same thing has happened. Haven’t heard back. With so many other options and companies I might stay away from this one despite some of the reviews posted.
Sincerely - An it professional and nerd.

I stay away from the Roombas as I don't like camera navigation and it's inability to clean in the dark.
My experience with the Ozmo thus far has been reasonably good. It's mopping performance, water capacity, and no-mop zones are second to none. Although we need an agitator on the mop head to improve mopping performance.
It's battery life is also second to none.
Carpet lines can be a little better. My Neato wins in that area.
Navigation is terrific and efficient.
The main issue I've had, and I've had it twice now, is that it got stuck a couple times and when it did, it re-positioned the charging base on the map causing me to re-map the entire house and redefine all my no-go and no-mop areas. I've added new no-go areas to prevent the "sticking areas" so hopefully it won't happen again, but shouldn't happen in the first place.
There are some desperately needed features though:
1) No-go LINES instead of just square zones for angles.
2) The ability to name auto-created zones.
3) The ability to modify auto-created zones.
4) The ability to create and save custom zones.
5) The ability to use voice to send the vacuum to a particular zone. Why has no one released this yet?. IE - "Hey Google, vacuum the master bedroom!!!"

We tried out several other units in this price range... The Ozmo 950 would be the undisputed number 1 in the business were it not for the fairly "primitive" app interface. The app is not only limited in user-friendliness, but also fails to save a third map...... which is not very smart!
Most consumers in North America able and willing to spend over $1,000 on a vacuum robot have a home with at least 2 floors and a finished basement. Yet the 950 can only save the maps of two floors: After making the third map, the app give you a choice: NOT save that 3rd map or toss out one of the other two maps and save the third map that the Ozmo 950 just made...
This is NO problem when you have only one or two floors to do, but I have 3! And by the way, we looked for and found (on their website) a service number for Ecovacs: It is a number within the 415 area code (San Francisco). We spoke with their staff, who admitted that as of today the Ozmo 950 and corresponding software ONLY can save two floor maps.
The severity of this issue is enhanced by the way Ecovacs markets this unit and as it is advertised on Amazon. As of today 5 Februrary, 2020, the description still reads: "Multi-floor mapping: DEEBOT can now create up to 3 different maps perfect for multi-level homes and multiple cleaning spaces; When DEEBOT starts to clean, it will automatically recognize the saved area it is going to clean">
This is misleading advertising!! This is another way of saying that I feel cheated and believe this issue ought to be corrected.
Improving the app is NOT rocket science, and should be simple for a company that can engineer and build a robot vacuum machine of the specifications that the Ozmo 950 is endowed with. Why can the company come up with an app that allows me to store maps on my phone and then download the map I need from the phone to the robot.
I am very curious whether someone is replying to this....
My current problem with it is that when you set your wi-fi router to stop broadcasting its ID (the name you gave it used for logging in), the Ozmo 960 does not connect - it must have the ID broadcasting (note: most devices do/should connect without needing the ID to be broadcast. All of my other devices connect with the ID turned off.) As turning off the ID broadcast is a basic wi-fi security principle, I won't be happy with the Ozmo until they update the firmware to correct for this oversight.
Anyway, the Deebot works as expected, does a much better job than a more popular brand (we tried that one, sent it back) but in my mind, the best thing is the customer service. 2nd to none.
I had an issue with a Samsung fridge. Dealing with their customer service is frankly horrendous. A typical question from Samsung, as I live in a remote location is "Do you have another postal code I could use?" I don't have another place, sorry.
With Deebot, when there was an issue, they sent me a pre-paid postage label and as soon as the Deebot was dropped off at the parcel depot, they dispatched a replacement. No fuss, no hassles. Brilliant
More companies should have after-care like these guys.
