Purchased for Printmaking
Out of all the linoleum relief prints I made in class, the one of Kuroo Hazama was my absolute favorite. I haven't gotten around to signing or numbering the prints, but I'm looking forward to implementing these tools to make more relief prints. I don't have a printmaker at home, but the professor said it might be possible for me to continue using the one on campus. I think I would have to purchase my own water based ink though, but I can't afford such an expense yet... so another hobby has been shelved since I don't have enough money to continue it.P.S: My handle for my carving tools arrived with a manufacturer error, I couldn't get the piece that is supposed to connect to the handle all the way inside and just getting it part way in would cause my carving tool to get trapped inside which was un-comfort-able. To pop it out I needed to use my professor's brute strength alongside a screwdriver. In the end I ended up using the tools in an unconventional fashion (without the plastic handle and just used the metal carving tools as they were) and it wasn't easy to carve like this since the blunt edge of the tool would dig into my hand as I carved and sometimes, if too much pressure was applied for too long a time, the imprint would end up break the skin with the edge. I didn't have a chance to return it before the window to do so closed, so I'm knocking off one star from the 5 star I would've given if this hiccup hadn't occurred. If I could critique anything, it would be the plastic handle, the inside wasn't properly carved out and wasn't a suitable shape. Due to this I couldn't use this kit as it was intended by the manufacturer, I really think this company should consider switching from plastic handles to wooden handles instead. I know the plastic is meant to be more light weight for the user, but with a wooden handle a hiccup like this could be more easily addressed by my professor or Dad. For now, popping the handle off with a flat head screwdriver when the blunt end gets stuck before it even gets inside all the way or using the tools as is with my bare hands are the only other workable alternatives for me at the moment.@izumikyuuhime

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Sharp. Great Starter set of tools
Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2023
I wanted to make something with it before I left a review. This is a piece I carved out of a lino from a craftstore. Its 7x5. I got some incredibly small details. Tools very sharp. You can see my fingers reflected in the tool.
Definitely recommend! Read the pamphlet over before use.
Comes with a sharpening(?) Block. I haven't figured out what the yellow bar is that comes with it.
I didn't like the frog's fingers and I tried to redo them, but it didn't work out. The print is before I decided I could "fix" it....i shouldn't have touched it.

Only thing I don’t like is the way the gouges go in and out of the handle, have to be careful so you don’t slip and cut yourself
Came nicely sharpened
