4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars 2,172 ratings

Life has calmed down for Thorn, and between a wonderful wife, a world to explore, and all his friends finally being in the upper worlds, he is ready to settle down.

All that changes when a mysterious doorway made from an indestructible alloy is discovered by one of the god beasts on Verdant. According to legend, it leads to a mysterious world where heroes are put through a test to determine their strength, and when Thorn and his team head through to explore it, they quickly find themselves facing more than they bargained for.

With the Council of Gods on one side and the Temple of Man on the other, Thorn will have to leverage his strength in ways he never thought possible, all while balancing the various factions at his throat. Yet the Ruins of Renith are more dangerous than any of them know and hold the truth of a terrible ancient curse that has the potential to destroy everything.

Author of the Titan and Battle Mage Farmer series, Seth loves writing science fiction and fantasy.

Growing up traveling between the USA and Ghana, West Africa, books were Seth's constant companions. As he grew, so did his imagination, spawning fantastical tales of heroes and villains, of magic, technology, and skill.

Eventually, Seth thought it would be a good idea to write some of his stories down since he was running out of room in his head. Seth Ring currently lives with his wife, kids, and dog in the United States of America.

Great writing as always. Excellent world filled with interesting characters. No errors to interrupt the reading flow. Just wish the author would write faster.

This book is well written, fast paced and hard to put down. I enjoyed the plot, the various settings and the variety of characters. Can't wait for the next one!

I know it’s unreasonable but I wish these books came out faster. I really enjoy the character and the world. I am enjoying the path this story arc is taking and I can’t wait to pick up the next in the series.

Thank you so much sir author. The series is amazing the first one and this second set after he ascends. I've read at least 20 of these types and this is by far in my top three for sure, maybe my number 1. Absolutely worth reading and wonderfully done.

Seth Ring is brilliant portraying the OP main character. Does Thorn struggle much? A little (very little). Is there progression? Maybe in the last 15 pages, but not much.

Does Thorn basically stomp everyone and everything, is perfect at magic, fighting, and crafting, and is generally unstoppable? Yes. Unqualified Yes.

Otherwise, my one critique of this particular book is that it does get hung up on meaningless details, so there's really not very much main plot advancement. Reminds me of Good Guys a bit in getting derailed by newly introduced things that end up taking the whole book.

On the other hand, it's fun enough that I don't care. If the author continues in the same style, he could write 30 books like this and I would happily read them all :)

Another fantastic book in the series! Seth creates complex worlds, cultures, and characters. I've read many weak->strong series where the main character is nearly unbeatable after a certain point. This genre tends to have a lot of pitfalls that cause the story to fizzle out, in my opinion. I've read every one of Seth Ring's books, and he has avoided all the pitfalls. I've never lost my interest through any of his books.

If I have to list a negative about the Tower series, it would be that I read each one to fast and have to wait so long for the next.

Seth Ring is one of my favourite authors, this book is an example, only complaint is I have to long before the next book comes out to see what happens. Hope the quality continues. Story follows from the last book so is easy to pick up,however I would recommend starting the first book if you haven't.

I always look forward to a new release in this series, as its so much fun to binge read each book so that I’m sad when I’ve reached the end and have to wait months to have another experience. Keep up the great work.

Much of the litrpg genre is like a fantasy ‘Mills and Boon’.
This isn’t.
Rich characters, clever plots and stories … just the right amount of predictability but not too much. Very cleverly crafted and paced.
An excellent, enjoyable read.
Thanks Seth 😀
