The End Has Come and Gone Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 1,521 ratings

From Mike Talbot's journal:

"The End...has come and gone. This is the new beginning, the new world order and it sucks. The end for humanity came the moment the US government sent out the infected flu shots. My name is Michael Talbot and this is my journal. I'm writing this because no one's tomorrow is guaranteed, and I have to leave something behind to those who may follow."

So continues Mike's journey. Will he give up all that he is in a desperate bid to save his family and friends? Eliza is coming: Can anyone be prepared?

Here is a review that probably mirrors much of what other people are saying. I read a decent amount and have many zombie books. I can honestly say that this book is a real treat. I am tempted to say that these Zombie Fallout books should come with warnings about how they cause addiction and can be bad for your health. However, saying that would be lame. I am going to say that this book as well as all of the others in the series thus far are almost impossible to put down. If you are looking for a book that you can just read a section here or there every once in a while then this book probably isn't best for you...actually that's a lie. This book is for everyone that has any kind of interest in the zombie genre. It may be tough for the folks looking for a leisurely read because it is just so fun. Mike Talbot is NOT like your normal main characters. Mr. Talbot truly is just a regular guy. He speaks without thinking, makes mistakes, isn't overly smart, has phobias (oh does he ever have his issues), and thinks about sex once in a while. Mike Talbot makes this book because of the author's crazy idea to actually give Talbot a sense of humor. This book has a lot of action, a lot of gore, has scary parts but the best thing about these books that most books don't have...comedy. A lot of books, especially series, can get boring since the zombie genre is basically survival EVERYDAY which can become repetitive. The humor that is used really makes this book unique. The author also makes sure that it there is as little of the stereotypical nuisances that most stories have. Throughout the book the author even makes fun of most horror stories and how at the worst second someone will drop their gun or trip or something extremely cliche. This book sometimes even plays on this and so you are thinking "well this is going to happen next because this ALWAYS happens in everything..." well that isn't quite how the author "rolls" (sorry, i am towards the end of the 5th book where Talbot is recalling a concert he went to...haha).

In closing: If you have any interest at all in zombies or are looking for an all around great piece of entertainment then you should really give this a shot.

Always keeps me on my toes. I’m so in love with the mike talbot character. I’m so deep into the story because Mike reminds me of my fiancé so I’m further invested. Can’t wait to hear more about tommy as well. His character is evolving so much in each book. Amazing work Mr. Tufo.

Zombie Fallout is an awesome series. As Zombie apocalypse go this one has all the traits one can expect. The world suddenly goes haywire, our hero survives the initial shock and awe of the apocalypse, and antics ensue!
The characters are totally believable and this particular hero is funny. The series is full of rich and unexpected character development as well.
The Book is written in the ever popular "hero writes a journal and sort of narrates the world around him" style. The author does break free of this from time to time and it is refreshing.
My biggest problem with narration style story telling is when the story gets tough and it looks like all is lost, as a reader you start to wonder the hero must survive because who wrote this down if he dies right now! The author takes this into account and raises the stakes throughout the book, and when all is lost he switches to another character's journal or just abandons the journal style altogether. Pay attention to the chapter names.
In conclusion, Zombie Fallout is a fun read. Do not let the reviews of bad grammar or lack of editing stop you from reading this series. I promise you will have all 6 books plus the mini book 3.5 in your kindle before you can ZOMBIES!

This whole series is just amazing, I've laughed, I've cried, and gotten anxious reading these books. I really can't wait to see what happens to the Talbot family next.

I believe this to be the best book in the author's series and I couldn't put it down. It continues with the Talbot family vs Eliza, the "Queen" of the Zombies and her unfortunate brother Tomas. Mark has added a few new characters to the mix and you never know if they are going to be like the "5th" crew member on Star Trek that they just have along to kill off or if they are going to make it through the book. Mark's writing has grown as his characters have grown.

The Talbot gang are just trying to survive the zombie infection but Eliza has other plans. Instead of running and hiding, the Talbots decide to find her. On the way they make a few friends, make a few enemies and are always in danger of zombie attacks. Seems the zombies have learned to adapt. The climax of the story is when they rush to rescue some long lost friends. Eliza and Tomas make their appearance with several hundred zombies. Did I mention they can both control the zombies with their minds. It comes down to Mike Talbot vs. Eliza and her large mean henchman. How will Mike survive? Will this group of survivors make it out? Will cranky old Mrs. Deneaux smoke her last cigarette? You really won't see it coming so I guess you'll just have to read the book.

Just a note about the author, Mark Tufo. If you will notice all the names in the front of the book, these are some of his dedicated fans. How cool is this to have our names listed. What is even cooler is he had a contest on Facebook, yes, you can find him there. (If you like his books look him up.) He choose 4 fans and wrote them into his book as characters. And yes, I am proud to be one of the survivors. Thanks for the Uzi Mark...you are awesome. I love the back story and the set up for the next book. What are you up to Mark?

5.0 out of 5 stars What a follow up ! How much better can this get

This set of books has it all, the humour shines through to lighten the darker parts of the book, the psychological terror of the situation drags you into the story making you feel a part of the family, Mike Talbot is the hero of the piece protecting his family and loved ones to the best of his ability from the growing Zombie threat, the zombies are not all slow and lumbering as in the majority of Zombie films neither are they as fast as in 28 days later film, some Zombies show a modicum of intelligence and can learn new skills and group behaviour which pits them against the remaining human population, the bug causing the apocalypse mutates and speeds up evolution causing further issues, logical really as a bug which can survive death of the host would have a strong survival instinct which has never been covered in all previous Zombie books and films I have seen, the imagination of the writer to be able to think that scenario through when so many other have not just adds to the whole sotryline - these books are begging to make the transition to the silver screen. On a personal note, having received a kindle for Christmas I set about finding something to read, for many years I have stuck to the same authors and very rarely been willing to try anything new,I also saw the kindle merely as an avenue to get free books and had no intention of buying any. Having watched The Walking Dead on tv and enjoyed it I turned my attention to Zombie books just as an afterthought, I downloaded many free books and samples of books and worked my was through, each one leaving me un-enamoured and un-inspired. Reaching Mr Tufo's first Zombie Fallout book I read the sample and enjoyed it and then moved on to another book without further thought BUT over the course of the next week I could not get the storyline out of my head and genuinely wanted to know what happened next, I then did one thing I never thought I would do I purchased a book ! I read that book over the course of 2 days - I think "devoured" is an apt description I was reading morning, noon and night, life was lived one handed so I could have my kindle by my side, on finishing it I immediately purchased book 2 which I finished before payday! I then would have had to wait a week until I could read book 3, I managed 2 days of torture before begging my partner to pay for book 3, when pay day came bliss I bought the rest of the books available and have had a week of excitement, humour, terror and gore - wow what a journey - and it isnt over yet hurry up with book 6 please Mr Tufo ! - I have recommended these books to my colleagues at work and now three other people are undertaking the same journey - I can't recommend this series of books enough - and now I consider myself a Mark Tufo fan

I love this series, I had expected by book 4 some repetition, but not in this case. This story just gets better and better, lots of twists and unexpected turns. It is definitely not your average "Zompocalypse", as Mike would say, it has the usual death and destruction you would expect from this genre but with so much more. You can't help but laugh out loud, then worry that you're laughing at something that really shouldn't be funny. I really have come to love these characters, my favourite depends on where I am in the book or which book I'm reading, but Mike is always top of the list. I totally recommend this book, you should go out and buy it right now, it has it all, funny, scary, exciting, characters to love and hate, did I mention funny? This is a book totally worth your time and money.
