The Chosen Free: A LitRPG NPC Adventure (Prophecy Approved Companion Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 105 ratings

The hilarious and thought-provoking conclusion to the saga of a glitched NPC and her friends.

As Qube and her companions reach the end of the now thoroughly broken game, they must come to grips with the nature of their reality, and the world beyond.

Interested parties from the real world clash with our heroes as they scramble to defeat the Evil Emperor in time and reveal the secrets they’ve been keeping from one another.

In an increasingly relevant dilemma, these video game characters, born of AI, must decide what it means to be free.

The 3rd and final installment of a LitRPG / GameLit adventure about an NPC freed of its programming loop and brought along on a player's journey of adventure and power progression.

About the series: Prophecy Approved Companion is a fun an often hilarious parody of old school games, Dungeons and Dragons, and every player who has ever thought “what happens if I do this...”. An original take on life inside an RPG, from the perspective of a glitched NPC.

A fantastic conclusion to a beautiful series. I can't recommend it enough. This I a beautiful and touching story! I wish there were more books with this style.

But yeah, the book is good. Probably as good as the first, and better than the second. If you're worried about the second book, this one was worth reading.

Back in book 1, I did not predict where the characters would take us and I am so very delighted. It is a rare author who takes me in an unexpected but fulfilling direction. I basically can’t say anything about the book without [spoilers] so instead I’ll recommend the entire series and strongly suggest you plow through the internal monologues, because they pay off like you haven’t seen before. A+++

#TeamSquiggles. slorp slorp for the win.

I was quite impressed with this series. Pacing, editing, and story were consistently well done. Gotta commend an author that can keep up the momentum for that many books. Beyond that, well I have to say a relaxing book series with a healthy dollop of humor and gaming nostalgia is always appreciated. It would be nice if more authors took such a mellow approach.

If anyone is looking for a similar take on AI, the webcomic Questionable Content may be worth a look. Roughly the same tone at least.

It is so rare to have a series end so well! The excitement and fun kept at high leveled for all three books in the series. Really enjoyed living in this world. Might have to go back and read through all of them again!

The book and the series manage to maintain a steady pace of humorous entertainment while managing a masterful balance of light-hearted seriousness. Absolutely fantastic!

All hail the companion Qube. A story about humanity that brought me to tears several times. Highly recommend the entire series

It does some interesting things, but the long internal monologues about a parody of a videogame are a bit self-indulgent and the authorial voice gets rather intrusive at points.
