This product really wow'ed me. It does have a medicinal odor, is sticky, and can get messy easily; it reminds me of honey. I was skeptical. But it did seal the wound, as it claimed it would, and I kept the pup away from touching it. The Gel appears to have done everything it promised - protect the wound, seal nerve endings to reduce pain and itching, stop bleeding, absorb wound fluids, soothe, promote rapid healing...exactly what the pup desperately needed. After washing and drying her hot spot and then applying the gel, she completely left it alone; this assured me she was comfortable. I wish I had taken a "before" picture to show the comparison. It's remarkable. Today's result is what I'd normally see after a full week of treatment. I'm so impressed and relieved for my dog. I can only hope all future hot spots heal as quickly, and that you'll have equal results!
Although I used another product (and coconut oil) in the mornings or afternoon, I noticed the best results when using this at night. What was once an angry-red, scabby, and bruised area (also from her worrying at it) turns a healthy flesh-toned color nearly overnight and has continued to get better since. It also does what the it claims in helping to stop bleeding. I'm actually really impressed! It is easily removed, which is kind of a problem since she doesn't mind the taste of it, but I found that lightly applying a sterile gauze pad afterwards helps, which I secure with paper tape (it's in an awkward spot where a gauze wrap won't work). She is not 100% yet and still itchy, but much less when compared to before and the site is very much improved. Her itching seems around the spot I've treated and beneath her fur, which I'm trying to remedy with the spray version (or will be) and some Vetericyn spray. I ordered another tube, since I have a feeling this will run out before she's back to normal, and ordered the spray version as well, which hasn't arrived yet.
I recommend the product, though definitely consider something to keep your pet from licking it off if it's in an easy spot, and make sure to clean the site beforehand properly. I also ordered gloves, but mainly because I also noticed a wart and am paranoid/germaphobic--thus the melted, cold-pressed coconut oil application in the morning for the wart (very effective, by the way). Anyway, this product is good to have on hand in either case, especially if you have accident-prone four-leggers in your home. ;)

We bought this gel after dealing with what felt like a never ending wound on our lab pup's nose. I put a glob on my finger and swiped it on. It protected the area and when it started to flake ff, you just put more right on tip, no need to get the old off. Now I carry it in case of emergencies. I gave our neighbour a tube for her dog's cut paw and within a couple days the dog was running again.
our 12yr old lab has a large lump under her front leg , which has been an ongoing process to keep from opening up constantly., once we put on the emt.. she stopped scratching it.. will update review once we’ve used it more so far 👍👍👍
