Family had a great time together assembling this playset. It's got lots of pieces but they are packaged in a number of plastic bags that help keep things organized during construction. Small children will definitely need some help but that's to be expected and part of the fun of teamwork. It's a large playset, to be sure, but that means almost endless playtime possibilities for pre-school age children (and beyond) pretending to be at the real thing.

Awesome playset!

I have never bought Playmobil in the past due to the cost, but after getting this one I will in the future. The detail that is put into this is amazing. It was fairly easy to assemble following the instructions. One thing to remember with this is that most of the parts are in plastic bags. When I started to assemble I thought the parts that went together would be grouped in the bags, they are NOT. So have fun searching like I did. I spread the whole thing out on the dining room table and spent about 2 hours putting it together. If you have small children they will need lots of supervision. Some of the parts are very small and the stickers will need to be applied by adults. It has a moving elevator that can take the wheel chair up to the second floor. This has bikes, laptop computers, helmets, backpacks, etc. The kids will have a super fun time playing with this school from Playmobil.

Really Neat School Building for Kids

I got this toy to give to a nursery school to introduce the kids to the "big" school that was in their near future. Who is more excited about school than the little ones who are so excited about joining their big brothers and sisters there? The toy was given to a class of appropriately aged children, as suggested on the box. 

I was afraid that the number of pieces might be a concern, but so far, no major issues, and the kids have been great about putting the pieces back after playtime.

The larger pieces snapped together, and, having been a teacher for 35 years, I really liked the all inclusive atmosphere, showing children of different ethnic backgrounds, children with physical handicaps, etc.

The pieces were impressive, including desks, white boards, everything including the bathroom sink! I could see that a lot of thought went into its design, even to the clock with real sounding class bells, a skeleton for the biology class, and so much more. This is, certainly, the most inclusive toy "schoolhouse" I've ever seen.

Will pieces get lost? Undoubtedly! As with all toy pieces, some will, eventually, go to the parallel universe of the laundry's lost socks, but, lots of fun will be had before that happens, for sure. 

Games like this stimulate a kid's imagination, and, for me, that's a BIG plus!

I highly recommend it.

The children were excited for the new toy in the classroom.  The girls gravitated to the structure more than the boys. It took a very long time to put all together but the girls helped the teachers as best they could.  Lots of parts and pieces!!! When all was finished the children enjoyed playing with the figures and using their imagination! Lots of great dialogue and imaginative play.

What a wonderful, entertaining toy this,"PlayMobil Furnished School Building", is! It has so many accessories included, such as people figures, desks, computers, elevator, stairs, bikes, a working clock with alarm for classes starting or ending and even a wheelchair for an impaired student or teacher, just to name a few. The school building and all of the accessories are made of sturdy, quality materials. The detail that this set has is unbelievable! I was pleasantly surprised the morning after I started assembling this. I found my 5 and 10 year old granddaughter and grandson both quietly sitting in the living room where I had left it. playing with it. They love it and have spent many hours thus far using their imaginations and playing with this. I see PlayMobil also makes other sets that can be purchased to compliment this one. Great for imaginary playtime!

First of all, I love the concept! It's refreshing and gender neutral. At some point, every kid loves the idea of playing school or being the teacher. There are so many unique pieces to this set and I couldn't be happier. Its crazy how many details are included. It's thoughtfully built and relatively easy to put together (although it does take time to do). I wished that more of the items came assembled already, but it didn't take away from the excitement factor my niece had. I had to pretty much assemble everything while she watched and waited. Once all completed, my niece wanted her school to look just like the one on the box. I was even surprised that additional play sets can be added on to this one (a gym and a chemistry lab). It's already a good size! It's a child's dream! I can appreciate that every character included isn't all just one skin color. They even have a student in a wheelchair. I love that there's a working clock that also has sound for the school bell (it requires 2 AAA batteries). She liked how the people's hands can hold items while she's playing. My niece is very happy about this and plays with it for hours. Even if she grows out of it, this can be held onto for the next child. I'm very happy with this set and would happily buy any of their play sets (I was shocked to see all the other neat play sets Playmobil has).

Fun, unique play set

My 7yr old grandchild helped put this together. There are many pieces in lots of different little bags. Instructions aren't real good as to which bag goes where in the setup process. We managed to put it all together fine but it took some time. My grandchild really liked playing with this. There are so many accessories with it and it promotes great playtime.

I'll be honest, I haven't purchased Playmobil before. I had it when I was a child, but it's pretty much been those other two companies taking over.

Well, this set just goes to show you that Playmobil is making a huge comeback. I was blown away at the detail of this set and the thoughtfulness put into it. It's definitely politically correct with wheelchair access and diversity, but the real prize are the details. Digital clock, anatomy skeleton, student laptops are just a few of the very neat surprises in this set.

Definite 5/5, your younglings will love it!

Amazing set, the L-company better watch out.

The Playmobil City Life Furnished School Building comes with 242 pieces that all need to be assembled except the people figures. They are very detailed, durable pieces that snap together to form the furnishings. The school building also needs assembled. An instruction manual is included showing the pieces and how to assemble them. When I first opened the box, I was overwhelmed with all the pieces to put together. If you're planning on giving this for a gift, you may want to put the furnishings together before hand so it is ready to be played with. All those pieces take some time to put together. My six year old grandson is the perfect age to play with this. He was helpful with putting some of the pieces together, but would have enjoyed it more it I had had it set up and ready to go. I have a three year old grandson, too, but worry about some of the really tiny pieces with him, although he's generally good about not putting small things in his mouth. I watch him carefully as he plays so he doesn't do that. The building comes with a cool working digital clock with school bell and alarm settings. It requires 2 AAA batteries. You'll need to get the clock alarm settings set up for your child.

All in all it's an awesome set that the kids love to play with. It's durable and includes everything a school would have to play with. I almost gave it 4 stars because of all the work to assemble it all, but had to give it 5 stars since it's such an awesome set! It's well worth the time and effort it takes to get such a nice set that entertains the kids for lengths of time. Kids love to play school!

Kids Will Love This!

The finished product is absolutely gorgeous! That being said, it took about an hour to piece everything together. The instructions are super clear, but I don't think the kids 4-6 would have figured it out solo. It is sturdy and held up well to 3 kids playing with it. There are some teeny pieces, so this isn't ideal for younger kids. Love that it showcases diversity and differently abled bodies. This set is a hit in our household.

Kids love this set!

My youngest granddaughter is in 1st grade and is also an only child. Her getting used to being around and interacting with other children is taking some time. I selected this school house toy to help introduce her to her surroundings away from home. The toy has everything and all things school, including diversity. There are wheel chairs, accessible bathroom stalls, a working clock/alarm and lots more. Her parents and I plan to use this toy to get her acclimated to her surroundings, by naming the figurines and using these tools to ask about her day. Hopefully making school better each day. This is a great play time learning toy. Pieces snap easily into place. 2 AAA batteries are needed for the clock, and NOT included.
