Eventide's UltraChannel plug-in gives you a custom signal chain with an arsenal of legendary effects. For dynamics, you've got O-Pressor (the Omnipressor's compression module) plus a conventional compressor/de-esser with sidechaining (Mac only - not on PC). Soft-Saturation and Transformer emulation is onboard, as is 5-band parametric EQ. Eventide's Micro Pitch Shift runs in parallel with dual Stereo Delays. FlexiPath routing lets you drag and drop to configure UltraChannel any way you want, as you use it to carve out space for instruments and make lead vocals sit perfectly in your mix. excellent sound, loaded with features

This plug-in is a fully loaded channel strip. The dynamics and frequency components are top notch with comprehensive controls and you can configure the order of components to meet your needs. Dynamics pre or post eq: no problem, just click and drag.

The compressors can be used individually or in series. The conventional compressor/de-esser works as expected and does a great job. It can be very transparent or very aggressive. I find the de-esser to be easy to tune to the offending sibilance and it is effective in removing a narrow band, leaving the critical vocal frequencies unmolested. The O-Pressor has some color that is useful in bringing mix elements forward a bit. It also has very fast response. I have used the hardware version many times and this emulation resembles the compressor side of it. It would be great to have the expander side too, but it is very useful as is.

The two saturation buttons add color and richness. Vocals and electric guitars can benefit from the transformer saturation.

The eq section works great, sounds good, has a helpful visual display and is comprehensive, but it is not easy to use due to the really small size of the knobs. It would be nice if this component had a scalable screen.

As good as these components are, the stars of the show (and the reason I bought this) are the pitch shift and delay modules. If you have ever used a Harmonizer, you will know what I mean. The micro pitch shift is a great effect for thickening and spreading a signal. Judicious use of this will give a lush quality to guitars, vocals, bass and keys. The delays are so handy for time based and stereo FX on individual channels, or you can set the plug-in up on an aux channel and use it that way.

I use UAD plug-ins a lot. This Eventide plug-in does not take a back seat to anyone. It is so good and so flexible, I'm tempted to use it on everything!

the best!!!! I really do not want anyone to buy this. It makes my vocals so good everyone ask's How do you get the vocals so good...... uh uh .... my secret weapon. So no one should use this but me....

You get a lot of great features for the money with this plug in. Micro shift feature is awesome. The O preset is fast and great for drums.

MicroPitch Shift Effect

The MicroPitch Shift effect on this plug-in is worth the price alone. Try it on a send with the MicroPitch shift set to wide and the delay set to 10ms on the LEFT and 20 ms on the RIGHT. Your vocals will finally sound like a record!

Very Satisfied

I use this software mostly on vocal tracks. Works very nice and is no pull on the CPU. Using it on guitars and drums I can tweak it as needed to get the best sound. For the $'s I spent I am very happy with this plug in. And Sweetwater service is of course excellent
