The Sun Joe iON8PS cordless pole chain saw makes it quick and easy to trim your overgrown trees. Good concept. I feel this wasn't quite long enough for certain branches I wanted to cut. I ended up having to use a ladder and even then it was hard to position my ladder to where it was stable enough to stand since the ground is not level. On top of that, your arms will get tired rather quickly holding this as it cuts a branch. You have to have enough leverage to even do so. I think maybe if it was longer, a little more power, and lighter, this could be better.

Perfect for my use. Using it for around the yard clearing thornbeam trees and other nuisance brush. Great for cutting the branches that knock your hat off when you're mowing. Had a problem with broken part. Called SnoJoe and they offered to send me another saw free of charge under their 2 year warranty. Only need a small broken part. They are sending me replacement hardware kit. Should it have broken? Maybe not, but something got stuck. At least they are helping me out and if the part doesn't do the trick, a new saw will be sent. Great customer service. I run out of power before it does. A little heavy and not as fast as a gas one, but does the job promised.

Flimsy casing, poor parts support

After using this just a couple of times, it caught on a branch and fell about 3 feet to the ground. The plastic motor casing split, so that it was no longer usable. I contacted the manufacturer, to see if they had parts to repair it. They didn't. I then thought I could purchase a new motor and case, but that wasn't available either. The best they would do was offer me a 20% discount on a complete new tool, then they never responded to my request for the 20% discount.

It is pretty heavy and not so easy to maneuver, especially for vertical branches where it is extended out. Better on horizontal branches where you can support some of the weight on the far end. .As others have mentioned, the instructions for putting on the chain, while written out in detail, are actually somewhat obscure.
