UPDATE: added seat pictures for the person who asked if the seat could be swapped out.ORIGINAL REVIEW:This is exactly the bike I wanted. I had an evaluation session with a personal trainer, and all I was doing at the time was running for exercise. She told me I needed to mix things up and try doing a spinning class at least once a week. In my previous job, I was able to go to a spinning class at the gym at 11 a.m. once per week. Then I started a new job and couldn't do that anymore, so I wanted to get a spinning bike for home. The first bike I had at home was recommended by my spinning class instructor. It was a LeMond Revmaster. It was very sturdy and worked great. What I missed were the metrics I got from the bike computers on the spinning bikes at the gym, specifically the indication of power output in watts. The LeMond had a simple twist-dial resistance mechanism that wasn't calibrated, so I couldn't consistently set it to a given power output, and it tended to squeak and make it untenable for anyone else to be in the basement when I was riding the bike. So I started looking for a new bike. The first bike I bought was another big-name brand that starts with Nor and ends in track. It was a total lemon. It was unstable and wobbly. It had no fly-wheel weight, so you couldn't comfortably stand up and pedal. Although it indicated power output in watts, it wouldn't show you a GRAPH of power output or offer any workouts based on power output. Their app with iFit was fundamentally flawed in that the graphs and workouts were all based on "speed" from RPM, which is artificial and doesn't take into account resistance and how hard you were working. Their app was unstable and crashed frequently, and they wanted you to sign up for their monthly subscription service like the other big-name internet-connected spinning bike that begins with Pel and ends in Ton. It took a lot of time and effort, but I finally got that company to take back their wobbly piece of junk and give me a refund. So I started shopping around again. The Keiser looked strange to me in the pictures on the internet. I thought it would be wobbly. I found a local gym that had the Keiser, and I went and asked them if I could just check it out. It seemed pretty sturdy to me, so I bought one. Thanks to the other reviews here on Amazon, I did NOT pay for the "expert assembly" and I assembled it myself. As it turns out, I had most of the tools already. I only needed the crows feet, which were a pain to get the two specific sizes they needed. Assembly was pretty simple. The directions are well-written. Other people here have posted here that Keiser has a good video to help with assembly, too, but I didn't need the video.I've used the Keiser M3i bike (UPDATED 11/1/2020) SEVERAL days per week for over a year now, and I like it A LOT. It's leaps and bounds better than the previous lemon I bought.+ It's very solid and sturdy. It doesn't wobble at all.+ It has a good size weighted fly-wheel, so you can stand-up and pedal.+ It has magnetic resistance and barely makes a whisper of noise.+ The resistance control is very simple and calibrated to show you a number of what "gear" you're in on the display.+ The display shows you your RPM, Power output in Watts, Heartrate (using Polar HRM), "gear" (resistance setting), calories burned, and distance.+ The app on my phone shows me a graph of my power and heartrate vesus time and keeps a record of my work stats.-- Minor downside: They don't automatically sync up the data with MapMyFitness, but they DO export the data in TCX file format, which you can manually import to MapMyFitness. I can see all my workout stats on MapMyFitness from downloading the TCX file.Overall, I'm VERY pleased with this Keiser bike. This was money well spent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pricey But Worth Every Penny
Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2016
I had a list of needs that I wanted an indoor stationary bike to meet: 1) adjustable gearing; 2) combo pedals that included ability for me to clip in with my Shimano SPD cleats; 3) adjustable seat and handlebars; 4) multiple handlebar positions such as aerobars; 5) adjustable resistance levels; 6) integrated on-board computer; 7) Bluetooth capability. The Keiser M3 Plus met ALL of these needs and then some.

It was important that it had an on-board computer, so that all sensors were already pre-installed. Once I start pedaling, the computer comes alive with all of the necessary stats: distance, speed, watts, cadence, time elapsed, and heart rate. NOTE: This product requires a Polar-brand Bluetooth compatible HR chest strap, which is not included. There was no pairing or syncing necessary once I put on my chest strap. There are some reviews that the computer as other capabilities, but I was not interested in that aspect other than the basics I mention I above. The bike came with a very nice media holder that snaps onto the handlebars. It securely holds my iPad or iPhone.

Assembly requires that you read the instruction manual BEFORE assembly, not during. There are about 10 different tools required but not included, and are listed in the instruction manual. It is important to follow all directions carefully. As I was putting it together with my husband, I realized that in doing so, it ensured safe operation afterwards. This is why it is also important to use the tools listed. I felt that Keiser was very thorough in making this clear in the manual. Make sure all parts are set out and required tools handy. The instruction manual is excellent, with clear diagrams that illustrate assembly steps. One reviewer stated it only took him 30 minutes to set-up. I was very systematic in reading the manual and assembling the tools. I recruited my husband for help (e.g., getting the tools and assembly). Actual assembly time took us about 1 hour to complete.

In terms of functionality, the seat is comfortable and everything is adjustable. I am five-feet tall, and was a little concerned if it was going to be too big for me. It fits me perfectly! It also fits my husband, who is six-feet tall. With the combo pedals, family members can use the pedals without cleats. The pedals come with toe cages to insert your foot in for stability. I don't need them with my cleats, nor do I like them, so I removed them easily. This bike makes little to no noise. The footprint is small, and fits on a floor mat 36" x 48" in size. The seat is not only is the seat adjustable vertically and horizontally, but I can also adjust the seat itself. It may need some tweaking due to misalignment during shipping. It is possible to change out the seat as well. I can shift gears at levels between 1-21 (it may go higher, but I haven't checked that yet). NOTE: This bike requires using the emergency brake to slow the flywheel; it does not operate like typical coaster brakes do. I am used to this from using similar machines at my gym. If you are unfamiliar with this kind of operation, try it out at your local gym.

In summary, this is a high-end, gym-quality stationary bike. If it meets all of your needs like it did mine, then you get what you pay for. It has wheels on the front of the frame for moving as needed. The stand also includes the ability to level it on uneven surfaces. I recommend purchasing a heavy-duty floor mat to place it on. I purchased one made from Body Solid, available on Amazon. I also recommend that you purchase a Polar-compatible, Bluetooth heart rate monitor chest strap. I purchased the Polar Bluetooth H7, also available on Amazon. The unit is very well packaged. The box that the bike came in was very big and heavy. Make sure you have space available upon a delivery. The delivery guy will need a dolly to deliver it. All-in-all, this was an EXCELLENT purchase, I am very happy with it, and I predict that I will become a loyal Keiser customer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super high quality bike.
Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2019
This is by far the best spin bike I have ever ridden, I have done hundreds of classes in different gyms for the past 15 years. When I got this bike about a year ago I was worried about the quality having never ridden this brand. Now I will say it’s worth the cost. My wife and I use it at least every week and usually a few times each week. It is very easy to set up if you are handy at all. It is slightly heavy but that is a good thing in my opinion. I would say that it is silent but if you listen you can actually hear a slight hum, the sound is nothing that can be heard from more than a few feet away.
If you are the only user it is great because of the hand screws that hold the seat post and neck in place. My wife and i are close enough in size that we do not have to change the position. If you have users of different size it would be a very slight inconvenience but still worth it due to the strength this feature adds vs some other styles and the handlebar and saddle are easy to adjust. The on-board computer is good, and it also connects to an app that is better and tracks start time, duration, average power in watts, average cadence, average heart rate(with a connected monitor), caloric burn, energy output in Kj and distance. It will not connect to Zwift at this time but I am told they are working on that.
I keep ours in a corner of the room on a heavy mat but we use it in the center of the room with Vids on the T.V. and it is easy to move on our wood floors. I have never tried to roll it on carpet or other surfaces but it has two roughly 3 inch wheel that it pivots on to move. The wheels are high quality and look a little like the wheels for a in line skate.
In short I love this bike and consider it a friend. I not only would recommend it but have.
