Publisher's summary

A showdown of titanic proportions is developing in Archemi. Kingdoms are falling like dominoes to the self-styled Emperor of Nothing and his swelling armies.

Hector Park and his Queen dragon Karalti stand in their way. Linked by an unbreakable bond, they are the Paragons, heroes who are destined to overcome the dark forces mustering on the horizon, or die trying.

Will Hector unlock the true potential of the Dark Lancer Path and stop the ancient enemies of Archemi, or will the Emperor succeed in his mission to become a God above Gods?

Join Hector and Karalti on this epic Final Fantasy-style LitRPG adventure, in which the heroes find love, triumph, and struggle against overwhelming odds in the battle to save their world, while the bad guys are not just scary - they're smart.

Holy Soundbooth Theatrw Team!!!

I'm only 40% through this book but I love the humor and feeling that James has put into this book. But dear God Sound booth theaters performance is AMAZING, music, sound affects really make many scenes. I absolutely would almost buy anything they produce. I like this series alot but soundbooth only personifies it all!

More!

Each new installment in the series lands better than the last. A natural continuation, this installment did not disappoint and I eagerly anticipate the next one.

Soundbooth Theatre is definitely a key element in bringing these books to life with their fantastic narration and sound design.

THE BEST ONE YET!!!

if you somehow stumble upon this review before listening to books 1 2 3 and 4 it's totally worth the credits.
these books have a little bit of everything when it comes to the litRPG virtual world genre and to me is one of the best.
I read a lot of these types of books and you'll have main characters that seem to always fall into the same bracket of being a very self-aware video game nerd protagonist trapped in a virtual world thats not only a retro video game nut but also a meme Lord.
Hector has always been able to kind of balance it pretty well to where it's not so intrusive and immersion breaking.
balancing him out with more player characters in this book was very enjoyable. and the world building is very easy to understand and follow like you could skip a chapter for some reason and still piece everything together from the characters recanting dialogue. The author really considers his listeners when it comes to explaining the world building and character relationships from previous books quickly and efficiently there's never a moment where I felt lost or that I had to go and re-listen to previous books to make sure I didn't miss anything.
on a completely unrelated note to what I just wrote we got dragon booty in this one and that's really important like I don't think most people understand how important it is to describe dragon booty, I'm just saying the series has always been great about describing booty in general and I think that's just great.

Good god you really out did yourself.

I had to write a review i normally don't do this, but. This story got deep around chapter 53-55 and it honestly made me anxious amd fearful. Great story telling if your laying back and listening the story with the music and acting you'll loose yourself listening to these books. Being a book writer you inspire my own stories so much im curious to know how much of this story is based on his life or the way he sees it. Sorta like Tolkien. The chapters i mentioned earlier makes this very apparent to that thought. So much detail and indepth caracters with such a overwhelming storyline. Your a great writer but i do hope your alright i know authors can go into dark places writing story's. Keep it up tho i could definitely be wrong i hope the best for you and this series.

Another homerun! I love this series I wish I didn't take forever to get a new one. Hell just put me in coach I'm ready! It's a wild ride in these dragon lands.

Great sequel. Minor detractions.

This sequel has some great character and story progression as well as some new faces. Everything great about the series continues on in this book.

Two things though.
The background music feels a bit more forced in this book. It plays pretty heavily during key scenes and feels like it is very much trying to influence the direction and feel the way the scene is trying to play out. just feels a bit more heavy handed this book. Might just be me.

The other thing is that there are a couple explicitly detailed erotic scenes in this book. In previous entries there were sexual scenes, but they didn't really go into detail. They do in this one. I'm fine with it, but I know some people aren't into that.

This story is amazing 👏

the excellent sound design, the top notch narration, the enthralling story, the hilarious jokes. it's got it all.
I loved the references to other books and games.
there was a scene near the end of the book that was so well done it gave me chills. I can't wait for more.

Great book

I highly recommend this book but I will warn you 3/4 of the way in if you are prone to paranoia or conspiracy theory or prone to existential crises would not recommend it might change your view of the world. Lol
