From Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, Dune: The Lady of Caladan is a brand new novel in the internationally bestselling Dune series.

Lady Jessica, mother of Paul, and consort to Leto Atreides. The choices she made shaped an empire, but first the Lady of Caladan must reckon with her own betrayal of the Bene Gesserit. She has already betrayed her ancient order, but now she must decide if her loyalty to the Sisterhood is more important than the love of her own family.

Meanwhile, events in the greater empire are accelerating beyond the control of even the Reverend Mother, and Lady Jessica's family is on a collision course with destiny.

Yes, I have a lot of books, and if this is your first visit to my amazon author page, it can be a little overwhelming. If you are new to my work, let me recommend a few titles as good places to start. My major new fantasy trilogy (all finished!) consists of SPINE OF THE DRAGON, VENGEWAR and GODS AND DRAGONS. My newest Dune novel with Brian Herbert is THE HEIR OF CALADAN, end of a new trilogy. I also love my Dan Shamble, Zombie P.I. series—newest one is DOUBLE-BOOKED— humorous horror/mysteries, which begin with DEATH WARMED OVER. My steampunk fantasy adventures, CLOCKWORK ANGELS, CLOCKWORK LIVES, and CLOCKWORK DESTINY, written with Neil Peart, legendary drummer from Rush, are some of my very favorite novels ever. And my magnum opus, the science fiction epic The Saga of Seven Suns, begins with HIDDEN EMPIRE. After you've tried those, I hope you'll check out some of my other series.

I have written more than 175 books, including 59 national or international bestsellers. I have over 24 million books in print worldwide in thirty languages. I've been nominated for the Nebula Award, Hugo Award, Bram Stoker Award, Shamus Award, and Silver Falchion Award, and I've won the SFX Readers' Choice Award, Golden Duck Award, Scribe Award, and New York Times Notable Book; in 2012 at San Diego Comic Con I received the Faust Grand Master Award for Lifetime Achievement.

I have written numerous bestselling and critically acclaimed novels in the Dune universe with Brian Herbert, as well as Star Wars and X-Files novels. In my original work, I am best known for my Saga of Seven Suns series, the Terra Incognita trilogy, the Dan Shamble, Zombie PI series, and Clockwork Angels and Clockwork Lives with Neil Peart. Along with my wife Rebecca Moesta, I am also the publisher of WordFire Press. Find out more about me at wordfire.com, where you can sign up for my newsletter and get some free fiction.

🚀 a fantastic addition to the series ! 👨‍🚀
The thing I love most about the Dune universe is the sheer complexity of, as they say, “plans within plans” and there are multiple layers of plans in the works. All the way from smugglers on Arrakis to the Harkonnen to the Emperor himself.Another great Dune prequel. A fantastic addition to the series ! This one right in time for the movie, to get into the characters before seeing them on screen. The writing felt very true to the Dune series and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Good reading.

This book is the second in a series featuring individuals from the original Dune book and events that took place immediately preceding the start of Dune. This book continues the storylines of Leto, Jessica and Paul featured in the first book. An engaging and fast read.

Over the decades , I've read all the books in the Dune saga so my enjoyment of this installment was not unexpected . There were no surprises or big reveals just a continuation and evolution of the Dune story started so very long ago . I do wonder what will happen after the next book which will presumably bring us to an end - - new Dune connected to old Dune . If it is the end , Dune will be missed .

The Dune books have been a great source of enjoyment and this latest one did not disappoint.

I've read every one of the Dune books and have really enjoyed them all. This book continues the saga of Lady Jessica the mother of Paul Atreidies. It is the set up for the next book when Jessica should be able to return to her beloved Duke Leto and her son. This book also gives more information on the working of the Bene Gesserit and their control of others.

This volume of the trilogy has intrigue and schemes galore. I like the way that many of the history behind the feuds between the different Houses and with the Imperium is being laid out. There is much to be resolved in the final volume to this pre-Dune trilogy to bring the main characters to their status at the start of Dune itself

5.0 out of 5 stars Second Title of the Trilogy, First Edition Hardcover
Reviewed in Singapore on January 18, 2022
This is the new trilogy set just before Dune, and is worth owning and reading, whether you are a fan of Brian Herbert or Kevin J Anderson. The third part is due later in 2022. I have some of the First Editions of the Herbert's first books in the Dune series, and while I read all the other titles produced by the duo, I didn't enjoy them as much as how Frank had written his books. Brian Herbert's narrative style is much more modern, faster paced, and he doesn't fill it with the nuances as Frank does, perhaps because he isn't quite the 'creator' of the canon. I won't critique the second book for its plot and story arc - having read the library's eBook version via Libby - but chose to own this hardcover simply because of its being First Edition to complete my library. If you haven't an interest in collecting books or the Dune series, my review isn't going to help you. But if you have the first series of Frank's books, this Trilogy is worth adding, even if you've skipped the other titles produced by the duo Brian and Kevin.
