(Even though this lens is heavy and big I noticed the weight is distributed evenly so it's not very heavy to lift. I'm not very strong, and I hated using the G Master lens because all the weight is at the very end after about 10mins of shooting with the G Master lens my arms are sore and weak and shaking causing some photos I took to be blurry.)
Also this lens is sharp, it's bokeh is beautiful and it autofocusing is fast! It's also very sturdy as my lens was accidentally dropped really hard on wood floor, I was extremely worried about it but it still works perfectly fine!
Since I live in South Korea it's winter and now super cold outside so I can't go out and take as many photos! However, I use this lens every single day for my streams I'm a full time streamer and I stream everyday here on Amazon Live!
You can find my live streams by going to Amazon.com/shop/atarabyte or clicking on my Amazon profile! If you have any questions about this lens or want to see it work in real time stop by my stream and chat with me! I love the company and I love to help people.
Maybe I can help you to find which lens will suit you best!
But I hope you have a great day! And I hope all your photos come out amazing and all lenses you buy in the future you love as much as I love this lens! ^^

Autofocus is quick and accurate, works well with Eye AF. Smooth Bokeh, as much as you can expect for a 35mm focal length. Sharpness is rather unbelievable, particularly in the center at f1.2. With the exception of landscapes at infinity with detail across the frame to the corners, the only reason to ever stop this lens down is to control the depth of field. Every aperture from 1.2 to 16 is more than sharp enough at the point of focus, even on the demanding A7RII sensor.
There is some field curvature, hence the caveat for landscapes at infinity. Testing my copy showed that f4 is required to get excellent sharpness across every pixel when focused at infinity, with near-perfection across the entire sensor at f5.6.
Good flare resistance too.
However look at that thing, it is a cannon, heavy and big. You have to really want best-available 35mm E-Mount performance to make it worth carrying this thing around as part of a prime set.

I see most people complain because of its weight, but on a newer body like the A7Riv it feels great in my hand. This lens is a must have for photographers that shoot family photos, wedding and occasional portraits!

Autofocus isn’t the best, but really only struggles with backlit subjects for photos. I primarily shoot video, and use either manual focus or back button for quick auto adjustments, so for my needs it’s near perfect. Easily my favorite lens Ive ever used.
This lens is crazy sharp even wide open, and so nice to use in low light! The only thing missing is image stabilization, but that by no means should be a deal breaker. Neither should the weight. I’m a guy who likes a beefier setup, and this paired with my S1 is hefty, and incredibly durable. The extra weight makes for slightly smoother video (until the end of a 12 hour shoot when your muscles are giving out lol). It’s build quality is great as well.
My one nit picky thing is that the aperture ring is easy to accidentally knock into effect, I have yet to find a use for the extra button on the lens.
I can’t recommend this lens highly enough for the S1!
