Gorgeous Lens, it's big and it's heavy but I take it everytime I leave the house!

Gorgeous Lens, it's big and it's heavy but I take it everytime I leave the house!
This lens is just amazing! It's by far my favorite lens out of all my lenses! I use a Sigma 16mm F1.4 lens, the G Master 24-70mm, the Zeiss 55mm and the Zeiss 16-35mm and even though this 35mm F1.2 lens is the biggest and heaviest of them all I take it with me everywhere!(Even though this lens is heavy and big I noticed the weight is distributed evenly so it's not very heavy to lift. I'm not very strong, and I hated using the G Master lens because all the weight is at the very end after about 10mins of shooting with the G Master lens my arms are sore and weak and shaking causing some photos I took to be blurry.)Also this lens is sharp, it's bokeh is beautiful and it autofocusing is fast! It's also very sturdy as my lens was accidentally dropped really hard on wood floor, I was extremely worried about it but it still works perfectly fine!Since I live in South Korea it's winter and now super cold outside so I can't go out and take as many photos! However, I use this lens every single day for my streams I'm a full time streamer and I stream everyday here on Amazon Live! You can find my live streams by going to Amazon.com/shop/atarabyte or clicking on my Amazon profile! If you have any questions about this lens or want to see it work in real time stop by my stream and chat with me! I love the company and I love to help people.Maybe I can help you to find which lens will suit you best! But I hope you have a great day! And I hope all your photos come out amazing and all lenses you buy in the future you love as much as I love this lens! ^^

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Optics. Huge 35mm Lens
Reviewed in the United States on November 17, 2019
That's the Sigma 35mm 1.2 on the A7RII in the picture. Sitting next to it is the Zeiss Batis 18. So yeah, its huge for a 35mm lens.

Autofocus is quick and accurate, works well with Eye AF. Smooth Bokeh, as much as you can expect for a 35mm focal length. Sharpness is rather unbelievable, particularly in the center at f1.2. With the exception of landscapes at infinity with detail across the frame to the corners, the only reason to ever stop this lens down is to control the depth of field. Every aperture from 1.2 to 16 is more than sharp enough at the point of focus, even on the demanding A7RII sensor.

There is some field curvature, hence the caveat for landscapes at infinity. Testing my copy showed that f4 is required to get excellent sharpness across every pixel when focused at infinity, with near-perfection across the entire sensor at f5.6.

    Good flare resistance too.

However look at that thing, it is a cannon, heavy and big. You have to really want best-available 35mm E-Mount performance to make it worth carrying this thing around as part of a prime set.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have!
Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2021
This is the first time I’ve used the 35mm focal range. I’m usually on the 85 or 135mm range. This glass renders beautiful and sharp photos. I use it on both my A7Riv and A7iii and I am blown away with the resolution I get on each body. It focuses fast, with a tiny bit of noise but it is not audible in a real world situation.

I see most people complain because of its weight, but on a newer body like the A7Riv it feels great in my hand. This lens is a must have for photographers that shoot family photos, wedding and occasional portraits!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Option for the LUMIX S1
Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2020
I actually bought this in a store, but love it enough to come on here and review it for potential buyers!

Autofocus isn’t the best, but really only struggles with backlit subjects for photos. I primarily shoot video, and use either manual focus or back button for quick auto adjustments, so for my needs it’s near perfect. Easily my favorite lens Ive ever used.

This lens is crazy sharp even wide open, and so nice to use in low light! The only thing missing is image stabilization, but that by no means should be a deal breaker. Neither should the weight. I’m a guy who likes a beefier setup, and this paired with my S1 is hefty, and incredibly durable. The extra weight makes for slightly smoother video (until the end of a 12 hour shoot when your muscles are giving out lol). It’s build quality is great as well.

My one nit picky thing is that the aperture ring is easy to accidentally knock into effect, I have yet to find a use for the extra button on the lens.

I can’t recommend this lens highly enough for the S1!
