At the age of five, I sang for biscuits at a family gathering with my brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts and uncles, and was requested to sing in church the next day. Bob Marley & The Wailers, Legend – The Best of Bob Marley & The Wailers (2002 Edition) John Legend, Get Lifted Kirk Franklin & The Family, Kirk Franklin and the Family (Live) These albums have deeply influenced my career. As an islander, I adore reggae, but my heart is in gospel music with grand arrangements and the soulfulness of John Legend. Tell us why you chose this song. “Because of You (Live)” "Because of You" is my testimony. My mom, facing illness and doctor's advice to abort, chose faith. I'm a living testament to God's grace. This song reflects how I'm here because of Him. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In 2007, I sang in front of 300,000 people alongside Donnie McClurkin and more. Witnessing the crowd singing my songs and praising Jesus was simply amazing. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My passion is collaborating with other artists, performing at many music festivals, doing more charity work, mentoring young artists, making a compelling documentary about my life, and starting a music and worship school.
