About this item
- COMPLETE KEYBOARD UPGRADE/MAINTENANCE KIT: Take your keyboard to the next level with 140 Clear O-Rings, a dust brush, microfiber cloth, key cap remover, and a drawstring accessory bag for easy storage
- 140 TRANSPARENT SILICONE O-RINGS: Limit the noise from bottoming out keys, allow your LED backlights to shine through and even increase key speed by reducing actuation distance
- ERGONOMIC SOFT 40A RINGS: The softer 40A rings provide a softer padded landing with every keystroke that reduces the impact on your fingers and eliminates the bottoming out "clack" sound
- REDUCES KEY STROKE SOUNDS: The O-rings reduce the bottoming out "clack" sound as keys hit the base of the keyboard, great for voice chat. This does not affect the "click" noise from the switches.
- KEYCAP PULLER & CLEANING GEAR: Use the keycap puller, cleaning cloth, and brush to regularly clean underneath your keys to reduce sticky keys and ensure your keyboard is in prime condition

1. At first I used the cap remover. It scratched the paint off of the key cap I tried using it on and just went with using my nails to remove them (which is easy on the Orbweaver). There is a picture of the scratch my 01 cap got when I tried to take it out of the remover by sliding it. I took the chance to clean everything with rubbing alcohol and qtips. The tiny blue cloth actually came into use here — it helped dry off the rubbing alcohol faster than air drying would have so it didn’t leave streaks.
2. Putting on the O-rings was super easy to do by hand. **Advice with the Orbweaver: Use 2 rings on all of the keys.** I was able to put 3 rings on the 16, 19, and 20 key caps. I tried the rest and the keystrokes didn’t register but I liked those 3 being higher than the rest of the row that I kept them on. It helps a lot with shortening the travel time down and reducing hand fatigue. My tiny hands appreciate this.
Putting everything back on was easy and the whole process minus cleaning and trialing the difference in 0 rings, 2 rings, and 3 rings took about 5 minutes.
Thoughts:
1. There are people complaining about the felt bag getting the O-rings getting debris stuck to it. Just keep them in the plastic baggy and put that and the cloth/cap remover in the bag.
2. The sound difference is there, but it will not get rid of the mechanical click of the switch if they are the loud ones to begin with. You’d need different switches to accomplish this. The click is internal in the switch and it is intended to give audible feedback when the stroke registers.
3. The O-rings will raise the cap and shorten the distance needed to register the keystroke. This worked perfectly for my needs because I have really small hands that have joint problems. The soft O-rings helped with it too.
4. Doubling up helped a ton with the sound muffling on my Orbweaver compared to 1. Using 1 made zero difference in sound.
5. The LED’s were not affected whatsoever since the LED is in front of the switch’s stem. If anything raising the caps made the backlight brighter.
6. The accessories make the price worth it in my opinion. The cap remover could use a design upgrade where it doesn’t scratch the caps. Making it the kind where you have to physically pinch it would be better.
7. The brush is really soft and is a lot like a cheap makeup brush. For people thinking this is the greatest thing ever, make up brushes come in various sizes, angles, and stiffness.
8. Someone else mentioned the well in the Orbweaver prevented the O-rings from being effective — I didn’t have that problem at all since the switch stem sits above the plate. This might be a problem on the v2 but definitely not the OG version.
9. My partner can’t hear any difference in sound so milage will vary. So far so good on discord but this also depends on your mic.
Overall it’s a really nice kit and I’m very happy with it. I just wish Razer would put their orange switches on the Orbweaver model but this makes due.

The keyboard still has about 95% of the same mechanical feel I like but there is a slight rubbery feel. The first day there was an small adjustment period, especially with the shift key but now I don't notice.
The key cap puller is well made, easy to use and worked well. The brush was handy when cleaning the keyboard and all of the o-rings were manufactured well. I am very happy with the purchase and I recommend this kit.
If you purchase this, I highly recommend taking all the key caps off at once and cleaning all the garbage out during the process, I was amazed at how many crumbs, etc. were under the keys after three years of use.
The plastic key-cap removal tool works alright.
Cleaning brush worked well, useful in cleaning out my several year old razer mechanical keyboard.
The carrying bag and cloth are of decent quality.
O-rings had at least 3 with un-punched-out centers. A couple more had odd debris contained within the o-rings. But with 140 o-rings supplied, it was very easy to get my old keyboard all setup with every key having a good o-ring applied.
The change in feel of my mechanical keyboard was impressive. No more bottoming out clacking sound, pleasant smooth feel of every key press. I liked the result so much, I wanted more of those same o-rings for my new mechanical keyboard. I didn't find the same o-rings available separately, so I bought the kit again just for the o-rings.
Note:
Not related to the kit, but I feel like this is worth pointing out to anyone putting on o-rings for the first time. The larger keys on my razer keyboard have a support rigging. I broke my right shift key's right side plastic support piece when I removed it like I did with the smaller key caps.
You want to just lift them up carefully, off of the key switch but not free of the keyboard. On my razer keyboard I could un-clip the tiny metal rod from the plastic brackets that hold it. Once free, it's easy to apply an o-ring to it. Then put it back on the key switch, press down a bit, then carefully snap the tiny metal rod back into its brackets.
Keys that had that support rigging on my razer keyboard include both left and right shift keys, enter key, space bar, backspace (maybe, don't recall clearly) and the keypad's 0/ins key, enter key, and + key.
Hope that helps others to avoid breaking their larger keys when applying o-rings.
