Sighted in with Bushnell scope: Have had no issues with mount, very sturdy, holds scope well, have fires 120 rounds of 7.62x54R ammo and the thing hasnt moved at all, but is JB welded on, but scope holds great too
Upon receiving the product, my first impression was very positive. Hardware looked good, and a spare screw and three Allen keys were included. Nice touch. The packaging said it was for .22s and airguns, but the one-piece construction and ultra-strong mounting hardware should be suitable for more powerful applications. The mount installed easily and is VERY secure -- four screws hold it to the dovetail (three horizontal and one vertical set screw), and a whopping eight screws hold the scope securely to the mount.
Just a note: If you plan on using this for your Mosin, like I did, keep in mind that removing the original sight may be more than simply drifting out a couple of roll pins... Mine happened to be silver-soldered in place underneath the sight apparatus. It took a couple hours of hammering and a couple hours' worth of Interwebs research to discover that I needed to make a trip to Home Depot for a cheap propane torch... But after heating the sight for about 2 minutes, it came right off in two swings of a hammer.
This mount is definitely a good, solid way to mount a scout/long-eye-relief scope to your Mosin Nagant, without the need to permanently alter the rifle or worry about things sliding around after 3 shots... Highly recommended!
My Marlin 60 could take any dovetail rings but the aluminum grooves are fragile, and a ringmount like the Leapers is far more secure with the long clamp.
I had the clamp upside down initially, which canted the ringmount. I reversed it, and it appears perfectly level. I would like to see it labeled, because just looking at it, intuition tells you to place the more pronounced hook on the bottom.
Extremely secure, the only drawback is the same as all ringmounts, they are rather high, certainly higher than rimfire rings, which reduces cheek weld.
I will try this ringmount for awhile, but if I get annoyed with the height, will go back to low dovetail rings.
Sturdy, well made, and a bargain if you don't care about country of origin, and don't mind your scope on the high side.
Next, the more difficult install on my Diana 24D air rifle. Even the moderate power spring rifles will walk the tightest scope mount rearward due to the forward traveling mainspring and its abrupt stop as the pellet fires. The Accushot mount has a Stop pin which you screw down to engage a corresponding dimple in the rifle scope rail. I cleaned the screws and used the blue Loctite on the clamp screws and stop screw. Now, here is the complication. Break barrel spring powered air rifles are notorious for "barrel droop". The barrels almost always angle downward just slightly due to the ball detent lock. I first mounted my scope with no shims, however I ran out of elevation adjustment at 10M. So, I removed the scope and added three layers of Gaffers Tape to the bottom of the back ring. Brass or aluminum shim stock works well too. I remounted the scope and used a criss cross pattern tightening the rings. Windage was still close. I had cranked the elevation down multiple turns and ended up just about where it had been. After about ten shots the old 24D was centers and cutting sub dime sizes groups. These rings were a much less expensive and more compact solution to mounting the scope compared to a compensating base with separate rings.
