Maji #2

Ripples In Time

Rate this book
Escaping Earth for twenty-one-year-old Levi meant fleeing a monster who caged her and abandoning a mother who loved her. Elation and misery were her constant companions. Bred a slave, Levi had only ever known hardship ... but on Ealra, home to the Maji species that saved her from a fate worse than death, she was free.

Existing from day to day for the past few decades had become the norm for Ezah. He didn’t know happiness, and he didn’t want to either. Ever since he’d failed to protect his intended mate from a vicious beast, he found himself drifting further into despair.

In the midst of their inner darkness, their lives intertwine and put them onto a path of light. Levi soon imagines a future filled with possibilities while Ezah prays that history doesn’t repeat itself.

When a monster from his little human’s life emerges from her past, he vows not to make the same mistake twice.

MAJI SERIES:
Ripples in Time (Maji, #2) - TBA 2020

Finally!!!!!
I've aged waiting for this book

Less than a month away until this bad boy arrives 💃💃

Update:
Out of the Ashes is hands down one of my go-to books that I constantly turn to when I need to get myself out of a book slump. So it's suffice to say that I have waited a long time for Ripples in Time.
I really enjoyed this book. I don't think I will choose this over Out Of The Ashes but you know what I realised? I realised that I had a constant smile on my face when I read Ripples In Time.
To be honest, I was just ecstatic that we finally got book 2.
Ripples in Time is angsty and I LOVED it!
I LOVED the Ezah and his relationship with his family. I felt so protective of Levi and I wanted nothing but the best for her.

If you've been a fan of Out of The Ashes or any Sci-fi romance, give Ripples in Time a try.

It’s been over 3 years, but it’s finally in my library!
description

Some thoughts while reading:
You can skip, I know I complain...
...but I do love this author and her books.

I really look forward to more of this series and this world. I assume all the stories will be Human x Maji pairs and couples like Surkar and Mikoh will remain a background couple to watch.

Considering how many damn possible matches are to be made in this world, I hope the author doesn’t let this series slip away again. It’s completely understandable, whatever the reason is none of my business, I only say this as a huge fan begging for more.

More of the prince’s (so so many brothers...) someone for Nero in the next book it seems, (Nuni, perhaps???) ...and more updates about side characters and the couples that stories have already been told.

My money is waiting right here for more Maji Books~~

I have been wanting this book for years!! I'm so glad that it has finally released but it was also worth the wait since it was so good!!

I was not expecting this book to be for Ezah since he caused so much drama at the end of Kol and Nova's book. I did end up really liking him. Levi is very timid but that is to be expected from how she was raised. It was heartbreaking to see what she came from but also make me very hopeful that she did end up with the Maji for her future.

The connection between Levi and Ezah was pretty quick but neither realized that they were interested in the other. Ezah just wasn't happy or living since he lost his intended years before. Levi was just scared of her own shadow.

I don't want to spoil any more of the book so I will leave the summary there. I am excited to see what more is in store for the other brothers and how and who they mate!

I absolutely loved it! I've been waiting years for this book and it did not disappoint. My only complaint is I read it like an eager male with the promise of going slower the next time.
The alpha males that adore, cherish and protect their females are back! Ezah is no different than the rest. What starts off as a plan to get to know and befriend Levi, slowly turns into a possessive claiming for his female. I am here for it. I'm also here for all the other characters in this series. I love how she writes this family. They love, protect and support each other, but also feel the need to punch each other in the face when they are acting a certain way. Family.
If you fell in love with the first book, this one will be no different. The author progresses the story nicely and I can't wait to see where she goes with it. Next up, Nero! Swoon.
Happy reading everyone :)

I waited for this book and maybe because of the anticipation it made my disappointed worse. Book one was a pleasant surprise so as soon as I read it I was like give me book 2. Fast forwards a few years its announced book 2 is happening (YAY) but its gonna be about Ezah. I was not supper excited due to Ezah pre story and involvement in book 1. Regardless, I was optimistic but honestly this story is a steaming hot mess. I started reading this book the day after it came out which was months ago and just couldn't get through it. It was total weird but I thought perhaps it was me but no, I know no its not me, its this weird 'romance' which seems to be more about his dead ex then literally anything else. Way to much comparing and religious undertones.

Book one was a hit
Book two is a miss

So happy that this finally landed on my kindle today. My soul is soothed, my emotions have been tested, my mind is boggled, and my stomach hurts from laughter.
Just as amazing as the first book, and filled with so much more intense back stories and heartfelt moments. Ezah and Levi are a cute couple. I want to hug so many people in this book, especially Kah. Learning so much more about the Maji home world as I read too, so that was great to pick up on.
Applause to L.A. Casey. Can't wait for more.

I’ve been waiting for this book on tenterhooks since I read the first one. And it did not disappoint!
I loved Ezah and Levi’s story, it made me heart melt. It’s so well written and sucks you into the Maji world from the first sentence.
If you haven’t already immersed yourself with this series, I really do fully recommend diving in!

Spoiler alert
My favourite part was how beautifully the subject of Kovu was dealt with, how Ezah didn’t magically forget her or not mention her, how Levi didn’t turn into a jealous mess. How Leigh decided to go about that was perfect 🖤

Been waiting on book 2 for a few years and it did not disappoint. I LOVE the characters and the world building. The added map at the back of the book of what the author envisions her world to look was a treat. Can’t wait for book 3. Come on September!

I can't believe how much i'm enjoying this series! I love it! I'm all addicted and shizz to Aliens! I now have this weird kinky alien fetish and not gonna lie i've had some very vivid daydreams about em 🤷‍♀️ fabulous! Lol

Ohhh my Ezah! What a male! He can bite my neck anytime! I love him! I think it's those pink eyes and his broken heart that does it. He's 100% cute i agree with Levi.

I love the whole set up of this series because i really think this is the way we're heading as humans. Hopefully some kindly aliens will rescue us but hey thats a worry for another day lol So much detail and thought has gone into this book from the planet itself to the customs and language to the personality traits of the inhabitants of Ealra. It's brilliant! Even a little map to visually show you it! Love! But it's not just the creative world i absolutely loved the story.

Poor Levi broke my heart in the first few chapters. Living as she did and losing what she did makes you want to give her a cuddle and make it all better. She's so timid and meek when she arrives at Ealra that she jumps at her own shadow and when Ezah talks to her she about died! But this is just the start of her journey and watching her grow throughout the book made my smile big!

Ezah is pivitol to her journey and i loved him for it! He's the first male she trusts and gives her the confidence to grow and heal. He's grumpy and blunt but his reason is valid. He about killed me when i found out why he's this way, but he see's and feels some connection to Levi and although still hurting he pursues her nonetheless. He's just everything you want in a hero. Kind and loving and sexy (yes sexy! If he wore shoes then boy would they be big ones! 😉) strong and protective and with a huge great big amazing family you'll want to huddle in with.

I can't fault a thing. I loved seeing Kol and Nova again but also meeting a whole slew of new characters i know i'm gonna fall in love with too. As i was reading my mind was making up future mates and i felt the excitement of not only reading and enjoying this one but also looking forward to more more more! The diversity in the characters means there's absolutely something for everyone in every walk of life which is just wonderful for me!

Gripped from start to finish i found this book to be everything i never knew i wanted. It's exciting and fun and hugely romantic and sweet but also edges with dark which for a little black hearted lass like me brings great joy!

If you've never tried Alien romance this series is the one to get your freak on to! Loved it!

Review:
I enjoyed this book. I hope the author is going to write more books in this series. I really think there's plenty there for spin offs. I really hope Surkah and mikoh get their own book. The banter between them is amazing and they really need to get mated.
Like with the first book I loved the beginning. It started very strong. But after the half way mark it plateaued a bit.
I liked that it took a while for the romance to grow in the book but once they got together it went really really fast. It was a bit expected considering the nature of the maji.

Overall it was a great book and I look forward to potential others in the series. The worldbuilding and stories have really stuck with me.

What is this book about:
This book is about Levi, one of the women that the Maji saved from a dying earth and Ezah, kols brother. We meet Ezah in the first book and he doesn't leave that good an impression there. He tries to break up Nova and Kol. Not for mean or cruel reasons but he thought he was saving his brother from allot of pain. pain he knows very well how it feels. I loved seeing some more background about the maji and the characters. Anyway, Ezah has no interest in females after loosing his mate many years ago but he can't help but feel intrigued by Levi.
Levi didn't have it easy on earth, she was the daughter of a human trafficker, her mother being a slave there. She manages to escape from it but her past still haunts her. She is interested in Ezah but at the same time is very scared of her feelings. She doesn't have any good experiences when it comes to men.
Slowly Levi and Ezah grow closer and help each other heal but the past has a funny way to catch up with you in ways you might not expect

What did I like/love:
I love the damaged mc trope being 'saved' by someone. Just the idea of someone seeing you at your worst still wanting you and falling for you and willing to help you, just gets me. I loved that, especially when they help you grow so you can protect and 'save' yourself.
I really like the worldbuilding and the concept. It just got stuck in my head, even when certain things could have been executed a bit better, it still got in my head.

What did I dislike/hate:

I recently re-read the first book in the series because, you know, it was released more than two years ago, how can I remembered it?
I'll be honest, initially when I read that the second book was out was so annoyed with the author for the long wait that I thinked a lot if give this series a new chance or forget it even exist because I was so worried that I would have liked the book so much just to have to wait years for the rest. Guess we will see...

I liked it more than the first book, first of all because the love story didn't feel so rushed like with Kol and Nova and most of all because I have seen a change in her style of writing that I liked (I don't know how to explain this but in all hers previous books I have saw overly exagereted comic situation, even simple gesture were exageretd. Don't get me wrong, we still have some of this, like when EVERY SINGLE FEMALE in this book start crying over everything just to have hers way, but I think this is just the author style and it didn't bother me so much this time maybe because we don't have a lot of situation like that).

I liked how the Kovu situation was handled by the author because she makes us believe the genuinity of Ezah's love for Levi .

Honestly I wish the author would release more of this series during this year because all the "preview" of possible future couples really intrigued me, but as for now just Nero's story is programmed for late 2021.
I just hope that she won't make us wait years this time because that woul be really disappointing.

While I absolutely loved the first Maji book, this one didn't hold the same magic for me. A very dark story of slaves, rape, and violence, introduces Levi who fights for her life on a daily basis on a human-slave farm on Earth. When Maji come and rescue her, she suffers the unbearable loss of her mother and slave sisters. She also gains her freedom and a chance of a life worth living on another planet, but Levi is struggling. Forced to be submissive all her life, Levi fears males of any species especially those that are so much larger and stronger than she would ever be. Still, with each day, she learns a bit more about who she is and who she can become in this new world. Prince Ezah of the Maji has no joy in his life. Since he failed to protect his intended from a beast in Ealra, he's lived in despair. When he meets Levi, the need to keep and protect her arises in him, only to war with the guilt of having feelings for someone that is not his intended. Dealing with strong emotions and fears, Levi and Ezah will face internal battles and dangerous enemies to find the happiness they both deserve.

I loved this book almost as much as the first one. I'll admit I find Levi a little childish at times (but so was Nova) and maybe the first half of the book wasn't exactly five-star worth it. BUT everything else definitely was. I loved Ezah and the whole Royal Family. How they interact with each other is awesome and each of them has is peculiarities. I think L.A.Casey is a master at writing about huge families and the complicated relationships between siblings, because she did an amazing job in this book as she did in the Slater Brothers serie!
Also I like that there are hints of secondary stories that will hopefully be developed in the following books. For instance, I'd like to know more about Kah and Komi, but also about Surka and Miko and the eldest brothers that are still away.
I can't wait to read more and I really hope we don't have to wait a couple of years for the next one (I know it is planned for this September but who knows😂). Also, I'm dying to know who is up next!

Have you ever wished for a book to be eternal? That was my feeling after starting my reading of Ripples of Time. The author took her sweet time to write this new installment in the Maji series and that caused me severe anxiety when th time to start reading came. It's just I knew the story was going to be so epic that I was going to devour every single word. And yes, that is exactly what happen. I have just spent an entire day in the Maji universe and it is not enough. I need more. Much. More.
Ezah and Levi were so cute together. Their individual stories broke my heart and got me crying me eyes out and their love story put my tattered heart back together. Patient and all-consuming love is represented beautifully with these main characters and the rest of their family and I just can't wait together to know more about all of them.

Another outstanding story. It's well worth the wait from book one.
In this story we fully meet Ezah who we briefly met in out of the ashes,(go read that if you haven't)
and we find out his reasoning for what he did and why. We are also introduced to Levi who starts of a little scared ( there is a reason for that and it's all made clear early on) Levi does become a strong character though.

This book has everything hot alpha make aliens, a beautiful strong lead female. A hilarious little sister to Ezah. And recurring familiar character from book one. It's a captivating story from page one an if science fiction romance is your favourite type of story then you won't be disappointed. And if your just stepping into this world then you to won't be sorry.

An enjoyable sci-fi romance.

This romance was mostly enjoyable. I was happy to find out that the author intends to release the next book in the series within a reasonable time frame. I enjoyed the recovery and growth of the heroine in this book. The world building was well constructed, and I appreciated the fact that the author included a map. One thing I found very disappointing was that the heroine never got to actively get revenge on her evil father. I found that intensely disappointing. It made the Happy Ever After ending much less satisfying that I never really got to see the heroine claim her power and become scary to people who crossed her. A mostly enjoyable read.

Finally!

While the more than 3 year wait since the last book was sooooo long this book was really good. I loved being back in the Maji world and I’m supper happy Ezra got his HEA. This book was a bit different from the first, the heat was turned WAY down but it fit with the story LA was writing. I couldn’t really picture either as very sexual anyway. They were more emotional. You get a good amount of angst and feel good moments. Overall a well written sweet book. I’m just super happy that LA is continuing this series. I’m sure Neros book is going to be amazing!

SO DAMN AWESOME!!

Oh my gosh. This dang book had my heart pumpin. Like crack for my eyes if I knew what that was like. Lol. Seriously though. Like all her books, it has it all. Here I sit at work reading it with anxiety bc I’m like, oh dear Becky please be there nobody looking over my shoulder and reading this with me bc it’s steamin hot in some of these parts. And the comedy is in there too. Had me Crackin up. Can’t wait for the next installment. U killed it L.A. Casey!!

It's weird, I LOVED the first book, but this book...IDK. I loved parts but hated parts. I hate books about dead partners/spouse. I always feel the new love is second best.
I will go 3.5 stars I know this won't be a reread book for me. I took almost a week to finish this. Which is long for me I usually take a day when a books good. This Book I kept putting it down and I wasn't rushing to pick it up again.
The first book I have already reread it multiple times. Hopefully the next will be better.

Loved it!

Gah I hope this series never ends. The thought time and effort it takes to create a whole new world is purely amazing and L.A. Casey did a fantastic job on this one. Strongly recommend you reading the 1st Maji book otherwise some things will be confusing until they are explained. Such a great book and story line. Completely recommend

Whats not to like!!

Whats not to love? There's lots of laugh out loud moments, touching negative subjects with compassion and understanding, even though they may seem rushed (don't forget we are talking Aliens and time differences) Can't wait for the next installment. There is not one book that this brilliant author has written that I've not enjoyed reading.

Totally worth the wait!

I absolutely loved this book! I am a huge sci-fi fan and the first book sucked me in and Ripples in time was no different. I loved that it’s both points of view and the Alpha factor is off the charts. Way to go! You won’t regret it.
