Great fan at first, but short-lived

Great fan at first, but short-lived
UPDATE (2 months of 24/7 use): The fan has started to make a noticeable noise recently, and it appears to be getting louder. Since it was a 2-pack, I replaced it with the second fan, but I'm not confident this one will last any longer. I'm disappointed in how quickly this fan began making noise. I don't know if it's due to the bearings having problems (does it even have bearings?) or if it somehow got clogged with dust (there doesn't seem to be much dust around the fan), or what else, but I wish it could have lasted longer. The new replacement fan is running perfectly silently now, just as the first one did initially. We'll see if it lasts! As a result, I have Iowered my score from 5 stars to 3 stars.I purchased these and some USB-A to pigtail adapters so I could use a USB port to power them. I am using one on the outside of a mini PC to blow air into the case and cool the NVME SSD drive. It lowers the SSD drive temperature by about 10 C! It's also very quiet, even while mounted on the outside of the case.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fits my Rpi 4 case. Cheap cooling upgrade to protect your Rpi builds

Was looking for a fan that would fits inside of my Rpi 4 Canakit case. Fits snug, works great, and moves a lot of air even when setup for low speed (3v). Low speed is very quiet, high speed (5v) does have some noise but that’s to be expected with a 6000 RPM motors. Cheap cooling upgrade to protect your Rpi project.

5.0 out of 5 stars You probably don't need them, but they are so cute
Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2019
Most Raspberry cases provide enough ventilation (IMO) that even under heavy sustained load and overclocked, they seldom need more than passive cooling with some even small radiators. I have seen some very tight metal and wood cases that these fans would probably be helpful. My application is more about making it look great, as I build a Pi server rack and these little guys just look cool. They are plug and play if you want to just stick them on the 5v headers and have them running constantly, a little more work to get them set up for variable power. They are small, and quiet and move a decent amount of air for the size.
