If you've been seeking out a very good sandalwood cologne/parfum, Tam Dao - in my opinion - is one of the best that I've discovered so far. Granted, it is a bit expensive but viewing it from merely what it has to offer, well, it's most certainly worth it's price. It openly offers a strong and stable stance on it's deeply enriched sandalwood fragrance. From this aspect alone most everyone would find Tam Dao more rewarding than initially expected. My wife was totally surprised with both it's bold scent when first applied and after it's drydown period a very remote but very present scent hours later. Yes, it does hold a bit of mysticism about it via the combination of scents presented through not only it's primary middle note of sandalwood but also it's wonderful blend of both top and base notes. Even so, the manner in which it offers it's wonderful sandalwood fragrance in junction with the rest of the scents present is more than most any one would truly expect. From that is why I highly recommend this to anyone - no one would ever be discouraged!!

The smell is woodsy, creamy, very masculine, tiny hints of vanilla, spice, and oak. I use it almost every day, but it's so nice - it's almost a shame to waste it at work. The new, darker brown bottle concerned me at first - don't worry! It's the same fantastic product. Oh, the packaging is over the top too!! All hail TAM DAO!!! A+++

Eau de parfum was not woody. no sandal wood. just bunch of cosmetic chemical scents.
