Just plug this into the slot where you would charge your camera then you can plug in your mini mic transmit-receiver into this pass through. Keep the camera powered down, plug in the passthrough into your camera. Power up your GoPro 12 then turn on your mic tranfer- recieve. You can leave the power on while the mics are working. Just let the pass thought device hang down along with the microphone adaptor. It will not harm the camera. These are very light weight and they will not cause any significant pressure on the camera USBc port. They sound quality is noticably better even at 10 to 12 feet away.

    It’s expensive for what it is but because it’s a proprietary piece and is needed to use a mic with gopro it’s the only thing you can use. So it’s kind of a necessity.

    For some reason when I connect a power cable to the usb-c port the gopro light goes on for about 15 seconds then off for 15. This process keeps repeating until eventually it just goes off permanently. My understanding is that the camera battery can be charged via the mic adapter usb-c but it doesn’t seem to work. So, I need to buy this $50 adapter and it doesn’t even do what it’s supposed to. At least the mic does seem to work.
