Lots of features for under $20
As of February 1st, 2016, this presentation remote from Zoweetek is priced under $20.You get a lot of features for the price! One of the nice features is that the USB dongle is housed in the battery compartment when not plugged in. This will help to prevent losing it. Two AAA batteries (included) power the remote. All you need to do is to plug the USB dongle into your computer and you are ready to go. I use a Mac and upon insertion of the dongle, the keyboard setup assistant popped up. I just cancelled the prompts and was in business. Unlike other remotes that I have used that have buttons or a joystick like feature to control mouse movement, the Zoweetek remote has what is called Air Mouse. You move the remote in order to move the cursor. It takes a little getting use to and you make to want adjust the tracking speed in your preferences because it is very sensitive, but it is neat once you get used to it.Around the central control which houses an OK button are up/down and left/right buttons. They can move the cursor in a Word document for instance or advance or go back a slide. In the bottom left is the laser pointer button. It is always on – meaning there is no on/off switch (it is always ready) just be careful when using it. It is very bright and has a great range. Bottom right houses a mute button, while the top left button will disengage the Air Mouse function. A right click button function is located in the top right. There are two rows of buttons above the center control. The top row is a play function, a writing tool (that I could not get to work on my Mac) and a button that when pressed will blank the screen to black. The bottom row has a stop presentation button, an erase tool (also did not work) and a button that will blank the screen to white. The blank the screen function is nice when you want to get your student’s attention. The remote without the dongle only weighs 2.0 oz. A blue LED lights up under the center control knob when a button is pressed. I tested the remote using Keynote and PowerPoint with no issues. This is a very affordable presentation remote that would make a great gift for the teacher in your life.Disclaimer: Product sample provided for free or discounted for an honest unbiased review with no means of payment or incentives offered in exchange.

Wow, this thing is amazing! The range of functions that this remote has from black out, white out, annotations, and more. The air remote function is really handy and intuitive! By selecting the mouse pointer button you can also turn on/off the function to control the mouse by gyroscope motion-very cool (If your range isn't where you want it, push the cursor to the extreme of the screen and then pull back to get the remote in a good position)! For $20 this blows me away when compared to the other $60-$80 remotes that claim to have such great features when they lack half the ones this does. First night I tried it from 20' away and it worked great. Tried it through walls in my house and it still worked. By far the best bang for the buck when you look at cost/benefits! Oh, and the laser works great too!

Only con is the bag it comes with is a little lackluster, but hey....some of those expensive ones don't come with one.

Overall I'd give this a great homerun for the best dollar!

My presentations and classes I teach at a university have benefited greatly from this little tool!

I was very selective in what product I wanted to purchase, I had taken a look at a lot of pointers and this one met every major feature I needed. Easy to control one handed, mouse support, slide advancing... the works. This meets everything I could ask for. The gyroscopic mouse is pretty cool and makes it easier than a joystick (although I do admit that's how I thought I controlled the mouse when purchasing this).

My one request for v2:
Please add an on/off switch

the device uses a timer to turn it off after 3 min but if a button is pressed it wakes up. I keep this presenter in my work travel bag and so I have no idea if my luggage will naturally bump the buttons and there isn't a hardshell case to protect the device from these bumps so I'm worried I will have a presenter remote that fails to turn on since it wasted battery jostling around during a 12 hour flight.

Other than that suggestion for the next version, this one is the best!

I am a teacher and this item is great for allowing me to walk around the room while still controlling the smartboard. It was super easy to set up. There wasn't really an install process. You just plug in the USB and it connects. There is a laser that is bright and great for people to see across the room. I love that it allows me to scroll up and down the page. I also love that it allows you to freeze the mouse where the mouse isn't moving as you use the laser. This is a really great product and the seller has been great. I lost my USB so I emailed to ask if I could purchase another one. They replied within one day and are sending me another one for free.

I'm a teacher and purchased this along with a some other models to find the one I liked. I've presented at lots of places and used many different presenters. This one is my favorite. I love that I can click on links embedded in my slides. I'll then turn the mouse function on and demonstrate what I need. There is a play button that will play or stop my videos, mute the volume, and much more.

I've loved the presenter. It doesn't have the feel of some other heavier presenters I've used, and I appreciate the durability feel. But this one has held up great for years. And I don't baby it, and will drop it into my desk, pocket and accidentally sit on it, or in my bag where it bounces around with everything else. But it holds up excellent.

Will work in a pinch, but frustrating to use as a main input device. You can't disengage the motion tracking! Try using a mouse that you never lift off of the desk to see why this is bad. Usually you can pick up the mouse, move it over, and put it back down again to move large distances. Can't do that here, meaning you have to do hand gymnastics to move from one side to the other, or crank up the speed so much it makes it impossible to target anything for clicking.

And say you do have the item you want to click on under the cursor. Good luck hitting it! As soon as you reach to press the left-click button, you've moved your hand and are no longer over your target.

Other similar devices only track when you depress a 'tracking' button which eliminates all of these issues. It would have been such a simple addition, that without it, makes an otherwise good device almost useless.

I bought this for a presentation so I wouldn't have to keep walking over to my laptop to change slides.
Plugged this in and Linux Mint recognized it immediately - no configuration required. All the buttons worked as advertised.
The laser pointer was pretty bright, which kind of surprised me.

The only negative thing I have to say is that using this as a mouse is very clumsy - it's pretty jittery.

Made my presentation stand out quite a bit more!

I was looking for a wireless remote specifically to use with Prezi presentations. I needed a remote that would let me zoom in and click on hyperlinks. I discovered I didn't need a remote but an air mouse that behaved like a wireless clicker. That's exactly what I found with this remote. The positions of the buttons take some getting used to but it worked great with my presentation. I would have given it 5 stars but there is no On/Off switch. Not sure how long the batteries will last but I will definitely be carrying extras just in case. Also need to practice using the mouse function. Came with a faster USB adapter too. Looking forward to impressing my audience.

Allows me to move away from the lectern yet have total control over my presentation machine from anywhere in the classroom - seems to have an effective range of about 15 - 20 m with a fully charged batteries. The gyro takes a little time to learn to control, but it is serviceable. Mouse, dedicated PP controls, and a laser pointer all in one unit. Glad I purchased.
