Queen of Fate & Fire

A crown I don't want. A bargain I can't take back. A life I refuse to sacrifice. After four hundred years on my own, one would think I'd be able to walk away and never look back. I'd done it a thousand times before with nary an inkling of guilt. But with my brand new predicament, there is no way I can turn down the offered bargain—not if I want everyone I love to stay alive. Now, all I have to do is trek through the very realm I nearly died to keep sealed. Sure. Because there's no way that could go wrong. Unseelie Court, here I come.

Queen of Fate & Fire is the final book in the Rogue Ethereal series. If you enjoy foul-mouthed heroines, dark humor, and enemies-to-lovers, then you'll love this series.

There are stories that keep you engaged. Characters that keep you flipping pages. Keeping you entertained. Satisfied when it’s over and then there is Max. This series grew and grew, the characters and the plot keeping me nose deep into the story. The antics, the dangers and the unexpected sides steps they have to take. With each new danger, the uncertainty of what Max’s next step should be.

The unsealy court is one thing but now Max and crew are out through the ringer in order to save her father, a God who should be able to save himself. But the thing is.... shiz just got real and it’s time for them to pull up their boots straps, weapon up and go kick some serious butt. One step at a time, one foe at a time until the end. Either they’ll save the man who created her or... the world as hey know it will be reduced to dust.

It’s a rocky path, full of obstacles, challenges none of them can handle alone and not even Max can play a game she doesn’t understand. So one way or the other... it ends....

Queen of Fate & Fire
is the sixth and final book in the Rogue Ethereal series and continues the story of Max and her friends.

I’m really sad that Queen of Fate & Fire is the last book in the Rogue Ethereal series. The Rogue Ethereal series is such an amazing series and I loved reading about Max and her friends. Queen of Fate & Fire was such an excellent read, and I felt so many different emotions while reading this book.

"You have a family now. You have people that love you. It’s time to let go of the belief that you have to suffer this burden alone. Because you aren’t anymore."

Max is one of the best female characters ever. She’s so badass and I love that she always sarcastic and making jokes. It’s just so hard not to laugh while she’s being sarcastic or making jokes. As for Alistair, he is one of the best book boyfriends ever. Max and Alistair’s relationship is to die for, they are perfect together. I also love Max’ friends and family, together they’re this big family and Max deserves it!

"The possibilities for you and I are endless. Just as we are endless."

So many crazy things happened in Queen of Fate & Fire and I have to admit, I have shed a few tears. Annie Anderson did an amazing job and it was no surprise that I loved Queen of Fate & Fire. To be honest, I don’t really know what to do at the moment. Rogue Ethereal was such an amazing series and I’m going to miss Max and her friends.

Wow! What a way to send Max out with a bang. I laughed, I cried, and most of all I loved every second of it. It’s non stop action from the first page and by the end you’re wishing it wasn’t over.

Annie Anderson’s writing is flawless in that it doesn’t require any effort to read. There isn’t any jarring sensation that distracts from the actual story. 6 books later and I absolutely adore Max as a heroine. She's brave, loyal, fierce and isn't afraid to use her powers, especially when serving justice.

5 🍉 because I enjoyed it that much. Will definitely read this series again 🍗

Annie Anderson closes out Max’s series with sooooo many high notes!!!! Faerie, Dark Elves, witches, a water dragon, gods and goddesses...so many surprises, yes, there’s laughter, and and even a few tears! I am down in the dumps to know this is end of Max and her crew’s adventures, but am keeping my fingers crossed they’ll make an appearance somewhere down the line!!

I WILL CONTINUE TO SAY THIS: ANNIE ANDERSON BROKE MY HEART, REPAIRED IT AND THEN BROKE IT ALL OVER AGAIN.

This is an overall series review, mostly because I can't talk about this book without diving into the rest.

MC: Maxima Alcado, AKA just Max. Our main character is snarky, sassy and isn't afraid to speak her mind. I really loved Max, she was a breath of fresh air when it came to a powerful main character. Though she was loyal AF and wanted to help the people around her, as well as knowing how powerful she was, she was in denial about her position a LOT. Which I relate to so much. She was constantly making sure that her family and friends were safe, even if she was on the brink of death. She didn't care once they were safe. Her relationships with the characters were well thought out and very entertaining to see. Max had so much SNARK that you never knew what was going to come out of her mouth.

Plot: Holy moly my dudes. When I tell you Annie Anderson thought her plot out for all six books thoroughly, I mean THOROUGHLY. She intertwined all of the characters, plot and motivations from book one to book six in a way that was heart wrenching and amazing. The big bads were also thought out with the plot and developed nicely.

Magic: SO my dudes, the magic system in this was wild and very fun to read about. There were the normal supernatural creatures, vamps, werewolves, fae but then she threw in gods and demigods and it blew my MIND. It was incredible the amount of lore and thought she put into the magic and characters.

Romance: Now I am not one to shy away from smut. I love it, it's fun and entertaining but let me tell you that this book is very much a *Fade to black* kind of book, it actually works!( Though I will say there are a few scenes throughout the series that are SPICY) It was so nice to see the actual romance, falling in love and character development of the relationship rather than the sex and the sexual need.

Overall, I would 100% recommend picking this up, it is amazing. The first book does not do the rest of the series justice in the complexity, thought and emotion that goes into this series.

⚔️⚔️ONE MAGICAL LANDSLIDE ⚔️⚔️
Unbelievable! Annie nailed this entire series with 100% on point realism cranking this baby up, weaving treads of such intensity and precision, laying out all the frills, spills and debacles, wrapping this jewel up sleek, shiny and tight. One action packed, heart pounding, pulse racing, adrenaline pumping, nail-biting, block buster, catapulting this jewel to a whole new realm. Traversing the intimidating trials and challenging tribulations, alongside the shocking twists and wicked turns, testing our characters in ways they could have never anticipated. Negotiating through a minefield of deadly peril and chilling steps, maneuvering through the manipulations of dark evil and malicious intent, kicking ass and dispatching foes, propelling this baby to life flawlessly. Blurred lines and crushed boundaries, limitations are amplified and exploited, displaying all the fervent facts, feels and fiascos, booting this baby onward, breaking it down, blasting it into a tizzy with astonishing results. The characters, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits adding depth and diversity, transforming into genuine charismatic personalities. The scenes are abundantly descriptive with colorful details that blend and flow, creating a majestic backdrop that's so rich and lively it feels like you can just reach out and touch it. Remarkable job Annie, thanks for sharing this awesome little gem with us.

5 Cranky Stars

Max needs a vacation, a tropical beach, a book, a quiet space, and her husband because girl has been through it. Heck Max might even need some serious meds because I can’t imagine what’s going on in her head over the course of the series but of course she is a magical being and I am not. Through the series we’ve seen Max go from a one woman show with very little family to becoming the daughter of Chaos and gaining a family she cobbled together from her misfit friends. It hasn’t all been about discovering family it's also been about big losses and some equally big gains. I can’t believe Max is ending here with Queen of Fate and Fire but it’s time for Max to rest.

Max is told she must find Dusan before the blood moon or the fae realm will be no more. Thinking she can just trick Alistair and her family into staying behind she sets off for a wild goose chase to find him, but she doesn’t get far. Many people have her back including her mother and grandmother to name a few. This ragtag group sets out to save a realm and their species but are dealt the ultimate surprise. They dodge a David Bowie type labyrinth minus the aforementioned David Bowie, a cyclops, several Gods and Goddess, creepy fish things and a water dragon to just name a few. This is the perfect book for it all to end.

I’m sad but I’m happy Max is finally getting her me time. She has kept me entertained with her antics. I wish that if I was a magical being, I’d be kicking butt like her. She has made us laugh with her quick quips and made us sad as she loses those she loves. This book does have a very awesome ending so it’s not all doom and gloom. Thank you, Annie Anderson, for giving us one kick butt heroine in a book world where there aren’t too many. We will always love the blue haired Massima!

When we were first introduced to Max Alcado in the Phoenix Rising Series, it was clear to see that she was pretty amazing but I never could have imagined the direction her story would take. With each and every installment of her journey, I have been awestruck by this character and her bravery, strength, vulnerability, resiliency, and so much more. In Queen of Fate & Fire, we are thrown right back into the thick of things with non-stop action and danger at every turn. I found myself holding my breath often, afraid to read on but unable to stop myself. Surprising twists and even more shocking revelations are scattered throughout. This story was everything I hoped for and more, a fitting and satisfying end to this series.
Over the years, Max has become someone special to me, not just a character on a page but a creation that I have laughed with, rooted for, supported, wept over, and grown to love. She has burrowed herself in deep and she, along with these stories, will stay with me. I’m so sad that this series has come to an end but I’m so thankful to have been along for the ride and what an incredible ride it’s been.

Being Max has never been easy so naturally neither is being queen...

During the course Max’s crazy journey to Faire she’s learned all the secrets of her past and that maybe her parents weren’t always as terrible as they seemed and maybe they didn’t abandon her like she thought but they also aren’t her parents so there’s that too. Maybe they aren’t quite blood related but they are still one crazy family. Learning about her birth parents though of course changed pretty much everything for her and directly lead to her claiming her rightful place as queen of Faire. But because it’s Max’s life before she can even rest up from her battle the next problem is on the horizon. Naturally it promises to bug her biggest challenge yet. As the lives of those she loves are hanging in the balance and everyone is depending on her Max has to do what Max does: get things done... in a deadly chaotic fashion of course.

So Max embarks on her final adventure as this is the end of the series.

I love Max and I love her eccentric collection of family she has gathered over the course of the series. I hate that it ended but I loved almost every minute of the journey to get here.

This series is one of the best I have ever read!! I can't stand the thought that it's over. This story had all the feels. I laughed, cried and swooned even. Max and her friends make it through the worst possible situations and kept me entertained and turning pages as fast as I could. Max has created a family that always has her back, supports her and loves her. In this action packed book, with surprises, twists and turns and so much turmoil I was on an emotional roller coaster. Then there is love, friendship, family and so much more you. What a wonderful way to end such a fantastic series. Thank you Annie for sharing your talents with us!!

I've been following Max since the beginning and I LOVE her. She's fabulous. This is the final story and it's not a nice easy wrap -- there are still surprises, action and some twists you won't see coming. I highly recommend the series and think you will be happiest if you start at the beginning. We've seen Max grow and change throughout the story and this one doesn't let us down--terrific ending.

This is the last instalment in a thrilling, heart rending series. Max is a woman who is confident and proud of herself but her identity has more facets than she could have ever imagined. The adventure she has to lead her loved ones on had my heart in my mouth.

I was soaring with her relationship with Alistair and the others but one breath from falling over the edge with my anxiety at all the turmoil. Annie Anderson creates characters that I thoroughly fell in love with, even some I hadn’t realised I had attachments to! The story kept me engaged through every book, waiting (not so patiently) for the next book so I can have more of Max. I’ve never wanted a happily ever after so much in my life. The amazing weaving of lore and legend that is put into the series just blew my mind. I loved the rollercoaster I was on and I just didn’t want to let Max go. It’s going to take me some time to get over this series, the book hangover will be mega.

Grate book

Max thought she was done with Fairy but she was wrong. Max was told that fairy was not good for demons but did she listen? No. She brought her demon husband anyway and he ended up getting possessed. Because of this possession Max learns that her birth father is alive and in need of rescuing. This begins her trek to the Unseelie court. I really like this book the only issue I had was keeping names straight. A lot of characters in Fairy had at least two names and it made it difficult to remember who was who.

Max last book

I'm sad to see Max go but I'm very happy with the outcome of this book. Mac is an amazing heroine who has suffered through life but no matter what she makes the impossible when it comes to saving her loved ones.

This book start right where the previous one ends, we continue the search for Alistair, many more secrets are revealed and we get a very Happy Ending.

This is one of my favorite paranormal books.

I have really enjoyed reading this series. The story is amazing, with more surprises and twists than an amusement park ride. The final book in this series has a bitter-sweet ending. The journey to find Max's father Dusan takes this group to yet another terrifying realm. The Dark Fae are a force to be reckoned with. With epic fights, and a common goal, this clan work together to save the Fae world.

It is hard to write a review without giving away spoilers. Max is one of my favorite all time characters. She is smart, sassy, and passionate. Definitely the kind of person you want as a friend.

I hope to see some of these characters again in future books or series. They are great!!

My goodness was this series a fun read or what? I hate to see it end, but what a ride! I love how Annie creates such depth in her characters. Even minor characters have such great descriptions, leaving you wanting even more of them. This story took me on a an emotional roller coaster. Ups, downs, rage, intense angst, laughing bouts, crying spells. I took several days after reading simply to digest all of the story.
Alistair and Max just make me swoon. I love how much Max grows in this story, showing even a centuries old stubborn woman can be vulnerable and loving. I want more of these characters. I hope they show up in future stories. This world is simply so intriguing. I enjoyed my mental holiday while reading.
If you love becoming fully immersed into a fantastic world full of magical beings, I hope you check this series out. It was simply divine.

Queen of Fate and Fire
(Rogue Ethereal Book 6)
by Annie Anderson

*5 smashing stars*

This series is LIFE and I can't fathom the idea of it being over. What I know to be the utmost truth, is this is the most fantastic fantasy series I've ever read.

Max has a doozy of a task ahead of her, unlike anything she's ever faced, and that's saying a lot. You name it, she's faced it ten folds. Goddess, Queen, hero...Max is EVERYTHING!

Fae is in turmoil, enemies at every turn, and time is running out for everyone and everything. With the help of her most faithful allies, can Max do the unthinkable and save Fae, along with her friends/family?

Annie hit this one so far out of the park, she's in a league of her own. Get it? Yes? Run, don't walk, to read this amazing story! You won't regret it!

This the sixth book in this series. They need to be read in order. Once again Max finds herself in a difficult situation. Someone from her family is in danger again as well. She has to find her father and get him back or well you can guess. Once again, the group will have to pull up their boot straps and figure shite out. Max continues to learn about her bio parents and her parents who raised her. It seems Max never really gets a break. There is danger, intrigue, and so much more. Many things along the way will try to stop Max from completing her task. Max will be forced to face the guilt she carries as well. Even if it is undeserved guilt. I can’t say enough about this book or the series. I love Max and these characters so much. I will be sad to not read more about them anymore. Who knows maybe some of them will carry over to a new series? We can only hope. Fantastic job about Annie. This series is a must read.

What an amazing series!!! Each and every book is excellently written in a way where you just can’t put them down. Max is an unbelievably amazing character, who is strong and good hearted. She makes mistakes and takes responsibility for her actions, never once giving in to the pressure and is who she is, like it or not. She is very relatable in a way many main characters are not.

The passion between her and her mate, is undeniably hot. Every girl will want her own Knight from Hell after reading this series.

And so many series end with unanswered questions. Not this one. Everything is as it should be.

Annie Anderson is an amazing writer and I highly recommend her books.

There was a lot of emotion in these last pages of her story. I honestly need a few tissues.
I really love Max’s little family. Their undying, unconditional love for her gave Max strength in the darkest of hours.
There were many surprises and lots of action that kept me on the edge. I so desperately wanted to flip to the end and find out what was going to happen but thankfully I didn’t. Lol.
I am so sad to see the end of Max’s journey because I love her character so much but at the same time I’m glad she finally gets her happy ending.
