From bestselling author B.B. Reid comes a riveting second-chance romance…

Bee didn’t just run with boys; she ran the boys.
It was only a matter of time before I gave chase.
It took one summer for me to win her over and two to lose her forever. My summer love turned ice queen. Without heart or thought, she ruined me.
Four years and an ocean between us, I still can’t forget that she chose my cousin…so I won’t.
When the clock strikes twelve, you’re mine, Cinderella. It’s too late to turn back time.

Jameson John Buchanan. Barbette Elizabeth Montgomery.

So. Freaking. Perfect.

I have been waiting for this book all year, so to say that I’ve built it up in my head would be an understatement. I have loved Jamie since the moment we met in The Peer and the Puppet and while I couldn’t say I was Bee’s biggest fan—or really, a fan at all, I knew BB Reid would play me in all the right ways to get me to love this girl.

And she totally did. Absolutely, 100% totally did.

This book has left me so happy, so overcome with emotion, and it blew any expectations I had right out of the water. I love Four and Ever, and I LOVE Lou and Wren, but my gosh... Jamie and Bee are so far ahead, they’re untouchable. Easily my favorite couple of the series and while I have a sweet spot for Vaughn, he and his partner won’t be able to surpass these two crazy kids. Bee is not only Jamie’s queen, but she’s mine too. She’s everything I didn’t know I wanted.

Barbette has been painted as this cold, impenetrable girl who doesn’t care much about the hearts of others, but boy that couldn’t be farther from the truth. This beautiful girl cares SO much, she’d do anything to protect those she holds dear, even if that means she’ll be hated because of it. She’s spun a web of deception, sometimes for self preservation, but mostly to keep those around her safe. She’s broken, scared, and doing her best to keep her head off the chopping block.

Jamie Buchanan is a wild man, mischief and troublemaking his specialties. He’s a heartbreaker, and while he may have been with many, there’s only ever been one woman that has claimed his heart. She might have broken it, but the pieces still belong to her, much to his chagrin. Their story begins in the summer as preteens, but ends up coming to head five years later as near adults who have seen more of the darker side of life than they should have. Their chemistry is wildly off the charts and you can practically feel the sizzling coming off the pages, but it’s the raw and real emotions that really drive this story. The hate and the tension and the fireworks that explode when these two collide is both beautiful and heartbreaking to witness.

I loved seeing Wren and Lou really being brought into the fold and welcomed as part of the crew, too. We see plenty of Ever and Four as well, which was great. Questions are answered, but more are raised as well. It’s full speed ahead as we look forward to The Prince and the Pawn, now.

But Jamie and Bee, my heart. You both own it.

Addictive, angst ridden, passionate and compelling. The Punk and The Plaything had IT ALL!

The Punk and The Plaything is the third book in the When Rival's Play Series continuing the story line that started it all in The Peer and The Puppet. A second chance Romance written in dual POV through main characters Jameson and Barbette whom we met in the first book.

Jamie and Bea had a complex history that going into this book we knew very little about. I loved that The Punk and The Plaything gave us more insight to there relationship.

Since learning Bea and Ever's secret, I've been fascinated to learn more about Bea. She has always been a character that I wanted to learn more about, she seemed so strong and confident but when it came to the toxic relationship with her parents she backed down so quickly.

Bea and Jamie had phenomenal character development in this book, I loved the growth we experienced for both of these characters and even more so the growth of there relationship.

The When Rivals Play series is one of my favourites, each book has its own plot while also fitting in perfectly to the overarching plot in the series and is best experienced blind. there are so many key points that link up to other key points in the series, Its complex, compelling and so addictive! I love BB Reid's writing!

The audibook of The Punk and The Plaything was such a fantastic listen! Stephen Dexter and Jillian Macie were the perfect narrators to bring Jamie and Bea to life. They both captured these characters perfectly and brought even more depth to them. I can't wait tolisten to the rest of the series!

So B.B. had totally it set up in the other books where I was absolutely, unequivocally NOT a Barbette ”Bee” fan. I would go as far as to say I despised her character. I didn’t like her friendship with Ever, I didn’t trust her, just didn’t care for her. I started opening up to her a little in TMATF, but still. Now... I absolutely love, like fist pumps in the air rooting for her, she’s my new BFF. I’m a “Bee-liever”!

Gah!! Jamie, oh Jamie! His character has been one of my tops from day one. There is something about him. His playful personality, that don’t GAF attitude he puts off, when really he’s one of the most caring people out there. He’s giving off this players vibe and he’s borderline cruel to Bee, but really he’s just protective of his heart and sweet gooey center, afraid he will be exposed to hurt and risk heartbreak again if he lets his guard down.

“You kiss me with your cruel words and caress me with your pain.”

Told in alternating POV’s we go back and forth between their senior year of high school and their pre-teen years. We get in-depth looks into the what let Jamie and Bee to be the characters they are today.

“It’s not your hate that kills me but the love I see shining through.”

It also gives us better understanding why Jamie feels
the way he does, and we understand what it was like for Bette growing up and what led to some of the decisions that she and Ever made and why Four would have went along with them. We get to see the story of Jamie and Bee childhood friends falling in love and the hurts, secrets, misunderstandings and devastation that come after. BEE AND JAMIE ARE EVERYTHING!

While I’m not going to give away any of the details of this book because #SpoilersSuck. I will say I’m pretty sure this one might be my favorite of all. Because...Jamie! Tattoos, piercings, attitude and heart. I mean hot dang, y’all! And Bee, she’s beautiful and sassy and sweet. She’s loving and as it turns out unselfish. This is one of my most favorite series. I cannot recommend it enough. If you haven’t started it. TODAY IS THE DAY! Pick up this Bully/Friends to Lovers Favorite. I would give it all the stars in the sky if I could.

*I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book, but couldn’t wait to buy a copy of every format of this book!!
My cr8zysockbookblock blog wrap up for this book!
⭐️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐️- I have to add a sixth star for my blog rating cause I just gotta! This is like a Bully/ Friends to lovers romance all in one! Jamie is legit! He’s the most perfect book boyfriend. Tattoos and piercings. He’s just delicious! Plus all your favorite characters are back!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥-Holy Hades!!Jamie and Bee are pure fire in the sheets! 🧨 Nuff said💥

“𝙅𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙣𝙤 𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩.“

This book was EVERYTHING. Each book in this series just keeps getting better and better. The unrequited love, sexual tension and angst had me hooked from chapter one. This emotional rollercoaster took me on a damn ride, I adore Jamie and Bee and if anyone is meant to be it’s these two.

Bee has been kept in a gilded cage all her life. Constantly having to do whatever her parents say, so when she overhears their plans for her Bee acts fast and enlists the help of her childhood best friend Ever. She’s knows it selfish to involve him but she doesn’t have a choice if she wants to break free from her cage. What she so carelessly forgot about was that in the process she ruined the one boy whom she’s been in-love with all her life, and he’s back. Back with a vengeance. And he has his sights set on destroying Bee once and for all. “𝙄’𝙢 𝙖𝙛𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙙 𝙄’𝙢 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚. 𝘽𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙄’𝙢 𝙙𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙜𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙮, 𝙮𝙤𝙪’𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚 𝙘𝙧𝙖𝙬𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙚… 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙄 𝙙𝙤𝙪𝙗𝙩 𝙄’𝙡𝙡 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙢𝙮 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣’𝙨 𝙨𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙧𝙙𝙨.” At the beginning I wasn’t sure how I felt about Bee, but she completely grew on me and I understood why she did what she did. She’s strong and will no longer bend to anyone’s will.

Jamie.. my god where do I begin. He was my broody, sweet, angry bad boy. He’s back in town with a vengeance set out on Bee. The first and only girl to crush him. Only what starts as revenge quickly morphs into something more.. is Jamie incapable of hurting Bee? “𝙈𝙮 𝙛𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙗𝙤𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙡 𝙄 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙙𝙚𝙙, 𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙮 𝙛𝙞𝙨𝙩 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙣𝙚𝙭𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙. He deserves nothing but happiness.

Everyone seemed to think that I was the one in need of rescuing, but I wasn't the princess in this fairy tale. I'm not even the villain. I'm nothing while Jameson is everything.

I did not think I would love this book as much as I did. There were so many secrets revealed and Bee struggles through a hell of a lot that isn't mentioned in the previous books. There are obvious tidbits which highlight her distress and the obvious seedy motives behind her father's matchmaking but bring the past and present together really made Bee into a different character. Through the book you see her start to shed the shell of the person she has become and Jamie brings back the girl that hid away. I mean it takes a while because he's still a massive douche until his mother starts to voice her opinion a few times but he starts to realise the reasons behind Bee, Ever and Four's threeway relationship.

Jamie has always been the character I have wanted to know more about in this series and he did not disappoint. I loved how he defended Bee even when he hated her and how he constantly tried to see through all the lies, even when she continually tried to push him away a second time. Jamie is also hot. Hot. Hot. Hot.

Can I just say, I did not expect some of those scenes. If you know, you know. I expected them in Lilac but wow.

4.0 out of 5 stars Jamie é fodaaaa
Reviewed in Brazil on December 12, 2019

The Punk and The Plaything is Book #3 in the When Rivals Play Series by B.B. Reid.

I love Jamie since The Peer and The Puppet and was looking forward to his own book.
He is funny and mischievous, but also hot and handsome. He cares for his loved ones, even if they've done something hurtful to him.

And Barbette, let's be honest. At the beginning of this series I don't liked her.
But in The Punk and The Plaything we get to know her a lot more, so it's easier to understand why she has done certain things.
And I fell in love with her too.

This is one of the books you can't stop reading until you finished it. (Who needs to sleep, eat and work anyway?? It's definitely overrated when you read a book. 😉)
You just have to know what happened in the past. Why are they not a happy couple even though they're totally in love with each other?!?

Jamie and Barbette just belong together. So i'm glad they got their HEA.

The Punk and The Plaything is definitely a must read and i can't wait for Vaughn and Tyras book.
