Product Description
ABOUT PRIVATE PRESERVE:
By observing practices in wineries, the creator of Private Preserve noticed the constant use of inert gas in preserving wine stored in tanks, barrels and carboys to prevent oxidation. He decided to figure out how to bring the benefits of professional wine preservation to the consumer. Through constant testing, he was able to formulate a mixture of inert gases (essentially pure air with no oxygen) to preserve wine inside a bottle which has been uncorked and re-corked, allow the preservation to continue for months and even years. We now we have the essential wine accessory second in importance only to the corkscrew, Private Preserve.
HOW IT WORKS:
Private Preserve provides a blanket of protection for your opened bottle of wine. This professionally endorsed wine preservation system uses a blend of Argon, CO2 and Nitrogen.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
1) Insert included tube securely into nozzle with a twisting motion.
2) Place the tip of the tube into the neck of the bottle midway down and against the glass.
3) Have cork or stopper ready on top of bottle resting against the tube.
4) Spray for 1/2 of a second and then 4 shorter bursts, both quickly pull the tube out and immediately insert cork or stopper into the bottle (for 750 ml bottle). Store upright.
**Remember in order to keep your wine fresh, you have to seal your wine bottles with a stopper.

Now that you've decided to grab this product, keeping in mind it's just $10 and will preserve 100ish bottles, you need a good stopper. You want one that won't stand a chance of leaking in any air, or out any wine, if it should decide to lay flat for some reason. The best stopper i've been able to find is the Metrokane Rabbit Wine Bottle Stoppers, Set of 4 . This is also $10, and works wonders well adding a little color to your fridge. No you don't need to keep your saved red Wine in the fridge if you plan on drinking it in a few days. But expect 30+ days for red and white wine put in the fridge after it's been open. Another tip, you don't need to fill the bottle with this gas, you just need a good layer on top. Insert the nozzle down into the bottle, place the stopper on top, ready to insert. Now lightly press the top of the can to release the gas down into the bottle, one long press, and a few short ones will do the trick. Seal it up and you're good.
And don't forget this isn't just for Wine. If you like having growlers filled at the local pub, this is a great way to keep them fresh as well, you know, if you should not decide to drink it all in one night. Up to you.
One problem - the thin tubes did not mount correctly in the spray nozzle- had to super-glue one to
prevent it from popping off during use.
Also, I'd suggest a tight fitting stopper of rubber, etc - not the cork that's been removed.
We've used it for other things like sake as well, which also seems to work! The can is extremely light but lasts a fair while. I recommend getting more than one can since you can't easily tell when it's empty by its weight so you'll want a backup when it stops spraying
Update: I wrote to customer service on the weekend and received a response the same evening. They’ve apparently had some supplier issues with the straws. They immediately mailed me two straws of the appropriate size with a hand written apology. Fantastic customer service, would buy again. Updated my rating to reflect this.
-No more gloopy, wasted spar varnish, polyurethane, artist's oil painting mediums.
-Lacquer based paints
-Lotions and creams for face
-Oils for hair.
-Sunscreen...
-Maybe even medicine and soda?
And of course, no more rancid mayo or cooking oils!
Go ahead and get 20 of the stuff on sale, add this inside the containers and it will stay as you bought it.
