Pros:
- great picture quality
- not expensive
- good build quality
- a lot of ports on the back
Cons:
- it's heavy
- monitor stand is big and takes a lot of space on your table and if you don't have a deep table, consider purchasing a monitor arm
- speakers are abysmal (this is expected, almost all monitor speakers sound like garbage)
- don't have a usb-c cable included (you need to purchase an extra usb-c to hdmi or usb-c to display port cable, if you want to connect it to a MacBook)
Overall it was a good experience and I noticed that my productivity increased when I started using a big monitor with good picture quality. I recommend this monitor to anyone who is looking for a not expensive 4K monitor with great picture quality.
I am a photographer, and I replaced a dying, elderly and vastly more expensive monitor with a larger color space with this product, due to budgeting constraints and wanting to see my output as others do. It doesn't do me any good to spend thousands on a monitor so that I can edit my Adobe color space photos but lose everything but sRGB as soon as it leaves my office.
So, as I'm used to that larger color space, sRGB just looks a bit dull. But, it's as good as any non-professional monitor will do and far better than any printed version will ever be. And, the software that comes with the monitor is happy to switch between multiple presets automatically when switching between programs, so I can punch up the colors for web surfing and very occasional gaming, but have the monitor automatically switch to an accurate setting when I start Photoshop.
If this monitor lasts, and I have no indication that it won't, it'll have been an excellent investment.
I really like the low blue light color mode, and this is the mode I use most the time. On my previous monitors I had to manually change the color temp to a warmer tone. It’s nice to have a setting for this.
The Bright Intelligence mode automatically adjusts the brightness of the monitor based on the ambient room light. This works very well, I love this feature! You can adjust the sensor sensitivity and choose whether to display the ambient light meter or not.
This monitor supports HDR. I tried enabling HDR on Windows, but the Microsoft HDR implementation casts a dreary grey tone when using non-HDR applications (such as the web browser). Most of the monitor adjustment features are disabled when there is an HDR input signal. So I disabled HDR and use the regular color modes for now.
As an interesting side note, I learned that BenQ makes many of the highly rated Dell monitors (I guess that’s why they look similar).
This monitor comes with a color calibration report.
Here are some photos of what it looks like to have two of the PD2700U monitors side-by-side.

Here are some photos of what it looks like to have two of the PD2700U monitors side-by-side.
I'm using this monitor for two weeks and all the aspects that I was expecting are checked;
- True colors, great sharpness for CAD drawing and photoshopping.
- 100% compatible with my MacBook. I plug and unplug the cable (mini display to usb-c) on my computer many times during the day and boom! my desktop view is on the screen in a second evertime I plug it. This was super important for me and I had to eliminate lots of monitor models for this reason.
- The height adjustable stand is just a life saver.
- It doesn't have a usb-c connection but the Mini DisplayPort is just does the job.
- User friendly menu. It's straight forward. I didn't need to read the user guide.
The only thing that I surprised was how the speakers sound terrible but I don't use / need them. All in all, I am so pleased with my monitor and definitely recommend it to everyone who are in my situation, looking for a good monitor but not too expensive one. Btw, I compared to my wife's 2020 27 in iMac and would say they are pretty similer in terms of the display quality.
Top reviews from other countries
I'm coming to this product after using a 4K screen on a 15.6" laptop for at least a year, so I was worried that a monitor this size would offer less crisp text. Now that I have it, I have to say that I can't see the pixels, but text is slightly less sharp than on the laptop. But if you're coming from a 1080p laptop or literally any other desktop display, you honestly won't be able to tell.
The monitor has tilt, swivel, and pivot, which is amazing for somebody who is only used to tilt. I can rotate the display 90 degrees to read textbooks pages at a time, which feels amazing. The screen only pivots counterclockwise, and the first time you do it, it feels like you're pushing too hard and it might break. Don't worry, it doesn't. Caution: when you pivot the display, TILT IT UP FIRST. Otherwise it can hit the base and scratch it (which is really easy to do).
Picture quality leaves nothing else to be desired. In the box is a little sheet with all the color accuracy and stuff. Although I don't know what any of it means, it gives me a lot of peace of mind when I'm doing color-sensitive work.
Some miscellaneous thoughts:
- 350 nits is bright enough to comfortably use in front of a window facing the sun, so no complaints about brightness.
- Obviously I'm not buying this to play games. There are better and cheaper monitors for that.
- OSD is decent. Pretty standard stuff.
- Backlight bleed is very good. Looking at pure black straight-on at a reasonable distance, you can barely see it. Obviously from off-angles it's visible though.
So overall, this monitor feels like all pros and no cons. Absolutely go for it if you're looking for good colors on a budget.
Update nearly a year in:
Image persistence (NOT burn-in) is a small issue with this monitor, and it made me a little nervous at the beginning, but actually improved over the nearly a year I've had it. Now I'm totally comfortable having the same image on the screen for hours at a time.
La pantalla esta de lujo, me encanta la parte que ya viene ajustada de fabrica
