Yes, the grinder has an expresso setting and works for expresso, although I am not sure it would work at this setting as well as some of the really expensive dedicated expresso grinders.

That's the way my wife (oddly enough, Linda) uses hers. You just load the hopper, turn it on, and it grinds everything in the hopper until it's done.

Yes, it is. You don't have to hold down or press anything once you pre-set the number of cups you want and the type of grind.

Yes, pour the beans in, set the amount and grind (fine to coarse), push the button.....it automatically turns off when the proper amount is ground.

Yes, the unit has a dial knob to select the cups of coffee you plan on brewing. The hopper, holding the whole beans, rotates for the selectable to sizes of grind. So, if the hopper already has beans, you have set it to drip grind size and want to make enough for 4 cups -- you hit a start button and the unit goes to work. When 4 scoops of grinds are made the unit stops. You pull the bin out and dump the grinds into your coffee maker.

It is not hand-crank. You have to select the coarseness of the grind and the amount to be ground. You have to pour the beans into the mill and empty the hopper when it's done grinding. But the mill grinds the beans without assistance.
