On the Shore: A Small Town, Sports, Enemies to Lovers Romance (Cottonwood Cove Series Book 3) Kindle Edition

**AN AMAZON TOP 10 BESTSELLER**

He’s the GOAT of the NFL. She’s a hot-headed reporter who despises him. They’re in the same small town for the summer. What could possibly go wrong?

I'm more than aware of the responsibilities that come with being a quarterback in the NFL.
The upside—I get to do what I love every day, which is play football.
And I make more money than I know what to do with.
The downside—everyone wants a piece of me, and the press stalks me ruthlessly.
And one reporter in particular, Brinkley Reynolds, has crossed a line.
She takes things too far.
So yeah, I have her escorted out of the press conference.
Imagine my surprise when the same woman walks into the coffee shop in the small town where I’ve gone to get some privacy for the summer.
I accuse her of stalking me.
She calls me every name in the book before proceeding to make me feel very unwelcome in Cottonwood Cove.
Her hometown.
The place where she tucked tail and ran after I’d unknowingly gotten her fired.
So now I’m enemy number one.
That’s fine with me.
I’m not the biggest fan of her either.
She’s equal parts stubborn and aggravating.
But she happens to be the sexiest woman I’ve ever laid eyes on.
So I try to make amends.
I’m not the devil after all.
But she won’t give me the time of day unless I agree to give her my story.
One I’ve fought hard to protect since the day I started playing professional ball.
I don’t owe Brinkley Reynolds anything.
So why am I considering giving her everything?

BOOKWORM REVIEW: On The Shore by Laura Pavlov
RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5SPICE: 🔥🔥🔥This series keeps getting better and better. Lincoln and Brinkley's story pushes that bar higher for the next book.Brinkley Reynolds may be happy to be home with family, but she's not thrilled about the reason. Blackballed after a high-profile NFL player gets her fired and escorted from a press conference, she is trying to figure out her next steps in Cottonwood Cove. So far, helping out with her family's various businesses, hanging out with her niece, and gardening are her best options. That is until said NFL player comes to town.Lincoln Hendrix needed a break from the spotlight. Considering a move to a different team, he needed space and quiet to think about his next move. When his agent offers his vacation home in Cottonwood Cove, he jumps on the opportunity. He did not expect that the reporter who crossed his boundaries was the same woman he was ogling at the local shop. When they both realize that there has been some miscommunication between them, Lincoln agrees to let her break the news of his NFL move if she forgives him. But getting answers from Lincoln to help with her article requires spending a lot of time with football star. Soon, animosity becomes friendship, but even with the undeniable tension between them, would either cross the line to love?I am here for the narrowed eyes and under-the-breath snarling kind of enemies-to-lover. Lincoln and Brinkley deliver that so well, and I love that it is nicely balanced with sizzling tension. Laura Pavlov delivers so well on the progression of their relationship. The spice? It is on point. Lincoln's mouth will certainly make you blush, and I love every moment of it.This series would not be amazing without the Cottonwood Cove ensemble cast. The Reynolds siblings bring relatable and adorable to these pages, and I am ENVIOUS of the sibling dynamic.Listen, we're weeks away from kicking off the NFL season, and this book? It is a great amuse bouche if you are a football + romance fan.

I absolutely loved On the Shore by Laura Pavlov; it is an incredible enemies to lover’s love story. It is the third book in her Cottonwood Cove series. Laura Pavlov continues to prove that she is an amazing storyteller and is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors to read. It was impossible to put On the Shore down and I loved every moment on every page. It filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I really enjoy how the book is told in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. My favorite part of the book is how Laura Pavlov incorporates the title of the book and the picture on the cover into the love story. On the Shore is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a love story, Laura Pavlov did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. I love how Laura Pavlov always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong, sassy woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy man. On the Shore is the story of Lincoln Hendrix, professional quarterback, and Brinkley “Brinks” Reynolds, recently fired from her job as a sports journalist. Lincoln has Brinkley escorted out of his press conference after she followed him into the men’s room. Brinkley was fired following this confirmation. Brinks heads home to spend time with her family and job search. Lincoln also heads to his agent’s house in Cottonwood Cove to decide where he wants to play next season, not knowing that Cottonwood Cove is Brinkley’s hometown. I love how Brinks wants her family to hate Lincoln and how all the men have a problem with that. Lincoln runs into Brinkley at the coffee shop and thinks she somehow followed him. She informs him that she was fired from her job after she was escorted from the press conference. Lincoln agrees to an interview with Brinks as well as the right to the press release revealing where he will play football next season. I love his three-question rule, and that he reserves the right not to answer a question. Brinks reveals her no-dating professional athletes. I love the nicknames that they give one another. I love the chemistry between Brinks and Lincoln. Conversation between Brinks and Lincoln flows so easily, I love that both Brinks and Lincoln share secrets with one another that they have not shared with anyone before, especially the secrets that Brinks shares about her father’s battle with cancer and that being the reason she returned to California after graduating from college and the secrets that Lincoln shares about his mother’s battle cancer that no one was aware of and that was why he was angry with her when she followed him into the men’s room. As Brinks and Lincoln spend time with Brinks asking her three questions daily, things change between them, both admitting their true feelings for one another. I love the significance of the number that Lincoln wears on his jersey. I love how their relationship changes from a fling to a relationship without Lincoln realizing it. Conversation between Brinks and Lincoln flows so easily, with innuendos and playful banter, and Lincoln constantly flirts with Brinks. I love the alias that Lincoln uses when he places take out orders at Reynolds and the significance of his alias. Lincoln discovers that his biological father has died, and he has a half brother and sister. The letter his father left for him was heart breaking, I love that he asked Brinkley to read it to him. An unexpected plot twist occurs when Brinkley is offered a new job, which changes things between them. I love how Lincoln wants to have a long-distance relationship with Brinks. I love all the changes that take place so that Brinkley and Lincoln can have a life with one another. My favorite part of the story is the Reynolds family text thread and the texts between Lincoln and Brinks, I love it. I love that Brinks’s niece, Gracie, calls Brinkley and Lincoln, Brinks and Links. I loved that On the Shore is more than just a romance, there are issues that both Brinks and Lincoln are facing that need to be resolved. I love how the storylines get so beautifully resolved. I love how the epilogue hints at whose love story is next in the series. My favorite part was the bonus scene download that details Lincoln’s proposal to Brinks and everything he did to make it happen and the location, my favorite line is when Lincoln tells Brinkley that she is everything that he never knew he needed. On the Shore is filled with poignant and bittersweet moments as well as plot twists that I have come to love and expect in a Laura Pavlov love story. I love the characters and the family dynamic in On the Shore, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between the Reynolds siblings, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I love the descriptions of the Cottonwood Cove location. I loved all the characters in On the Shore, and I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed On the Shore, who does not love a enemies to lover’s love story. I loved catching up with all the Reynolds’s. Highly recommend this incredible love story and am so looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

On the Shore, book three in the Cottonwood Cove series was a joy to read! I love it when an unlikely couple finds love and this is what happens with the GOAT in the NFL, Lincoln Hendricks and the hard working sports reporter, Brinkley Reynolds find themselves living in her hometown. She is back home licking her wounds and he is trying to escape, enjoy some peace and quiet while making a major decision in his life. After quite a few sassy moments between these two they finally come to a truce and Lincoln promises her an exclusive on his decision.
These two end up sharing heartfelt secrets, lots of energetic workouts and some serious chemistry and decide to jump into the deep end to see where their relationship can go and I was thrilled to be a long for the ride!
I also had the added benefit of listening to the audio version of this book and the narrators did an amazing job that absolutely added to my enjoyment of this story!

I love this whole series and the Reynolds family.
The more I read the more I fall in love with the family and extended family.
Brinkley is a spit fire in this book and I love it.

Lincoln had Brinkley fired from her job as a reporter after she followed him into the men’s restroom to ask him some questions. Now he is hiding out in Cottonwood Cove trying to decide on his next NFL career move. Brinkley is back home after being fired and trying to decide her next moves as well. They keep running into each other. Lincoln agrees to let Brinkley do an interview but makes it challenging for her to begin with by only allowing 3 questions a day and completing early morning workouts together.

Lincoln and Brinkley are at each other with their quippy comebacks. For enemies-to-lovers, I wish it would have had more of a build up. Although the enemies aspect ware really just from Brinkley’s side as Lincoln was a goner for her early on. I loved Lincoln’s honesty about what he wanted in terms of a relationship with Brinkley.
I could have done without the introduction of the upcoming series’ characters and had more of Lincoln and Brinkley but I do appreciate those little tie-ins.

Lincoln and Brinkley

Brinkley After losing her job she goes back home. She a sport journalist and feel humiliated and embarrassed and realizes she wasn’t happy at her job because her boss was a jerk and told her to do anything to get her job right. She cared for her family and her hometown and protect the people she around.

Lincoln is a private person especially when her ex try to sell a story about Lincoln mom and he find out she cheated on him with an hockey player so when his agent send him to his home in cottonwood cove before his season begin and to think if he still want to stay in San Francisco or go to New York to play for another team especially because he team coach hasn’t been protecting his player.

The chemistry between these two characters is off the chart and there banter is so good and that when Brinkley sees a different side to Lincoln and why he is the way protective and loyal not just some grumpy jerk.

Lincoln find out about his father side of his family and the reason why he left them when he was a child and never reach out it broke my heart for him. There were some up and down especially for Brinkley because her dream job only offer her a job if Lincoln was the package and that brought her hopes down and she lose her hopes for a few days.

The story was really entertaining and love it I can wait for Finn story.

This storyline gave a lot of build up between the characters. I enjoyed seeing how the characters developed separately as well as together. Brinkley never let up on Lincoln which he also reciprocated. I love that in this book Lincoln had steady interest first. I like how he won her over throughout the book. Another great book!

I love enemies to lovers because of the amazing banter and tension, Brinkley and Lincoln delivered this in droves. They know how to push each other’s buttons and it’s perfect.

I loved the independent, stubborn Brinkley and the closed off, hardworking GOAT of the NFL Lincoln who really has a heart of gold and falls hard.

All this plus the Reynolds family group chats make this another great book in the series.

Safe to say Laura Pavlov is one of my favourite small town romance authors! Another knock out story, immaculate vibes!

I had thought Bossman was my favourite hero, but I really think Lincoln has taken his place! He was funny and snarky and oh so swoony. He fell so hard for Brinkley and was beautifully supportive of her in all ways. I loved the development of his relationship with Brinkley, it was so natural and felt genuine. I loved how upfront he was with her family, too!

Brinkley was a sassy queen, giving as much as she got and never backing down. She was fierce and independent; she knew what she wanted in her life and went out and got it for herself.

As with the other books in this series, the sibling banter and group chat is so fun, and they are so supportive of each other and you can totally feel the love they have for each other. Also loved the cameos from the Thomas sisters; so MANY babies!

Another perfect read from Laura, can’t wait for Finn’s book!

The highlight of this book for me was definitely the COMMUNICATION, not a problem that they couldn't solve talking and is so good and they are so beautiful and cute together.
Also, the fact that both of them respected each others careers was the MOST beautiful thing EVER, it's something that I don't often encounter with and it's always pleasant to read. It was such a beautifully written story, definitely would re-read

Laura Pavlov does it again, the Cottonwood Cove series is absolutely delightful! If you read and loved her Honey Mountain series, then this is the next series for you, and if you haven’t it yet, put it on your TBR! They’re the perfect small town, steamy reads and include all the tropes throughout the series.

On the Shore is book 3 in the Cottonwood Cove series. It’s the story of Brinkley and Lincoln. Brinkley Reynolds is a sports journalist covering Lincoln Hendrix, the GOAT of the NFL, and ends up getting fired because of him. After losing her job, she returns home to Cottonwood Cove, and by coincidence, Lincoln ends up in the same town to escape the city during his offseason. Though they’re enemies to start, they quickly bond while working together, and the spice begins from there…

The chemistry between Brinkley and Lincoln is electric. Her fierce and fiery independence is the perfect match for his cocky, confident nature. The banter is excellent, as always, and my very favourite, the siblings texts, continue throughout the book! This book will have you in all the feels, as Laura always does.

Side note, the audio for this book was Fantastic. The narration by Erin Mallon and Joe Arden was amazing. 😍
