Timeless #2

One More Time

Rate this book
There's something about our new landlord, Alec.
Something that I can't quite place.
He seems familiar, but not. Like maybe I've seen him before.
And sure, he's attractive, strictly objectively speaking. I'm not into dudes.
But he has this intense, piercing stare that I can't look away from.
Eyes that make me feel like they can see right through me.
Like he knows all my secrets.
And I wish he would share them with me because sometimes I feel like I don't even really know myself.
But I do know one thing.
I take my responsibilities to my family and friends very seriously.
And when your best friend is gay, you learn to be the best straight wingman at the gay bar you can be.
And if you happen to hook up with a guy once in a while... well, it doesn't really mean anything.
It's just a good way to relax and unwind.
But when it's Alec who turns up, ready and willing to help me "relax", I know it's a bad idea but I just can't resist.
I tell myself just this once. It won't ever happen again.
Well, maybe just one more time...

I just can't with Cora Rose anymore! I prefer her collabs with Nicole Dykes, but I think I've just outgrown her writing style.

Everything just seems so immature and ridiculous, but not in a good way.

I think I have to put her on my 'do not read' list unfortunately

I was never supposed to cry over a Cora Rose book like this 😭😭

Jude is a cock sucking hobbyist, but it’s no big deal because he’s totally straight. Totally. He doesn’t have a thing for his landlord, not at all. And he totally doesn’t blow him or anything. He would never. If he did, it’s not serious and definitely didn’t happen more than once. No sir.

🤣🤣🤣

In all seriousness though, I was not remotely prepared for One More Time. I’d loved Jude’s character and his little hobby in A Minute More, and knew his story was going to be hilariously OTT and smutty as fuck, which it absolutely was, but I seriously wasn’t expecting it to get me super emotional.

It’s very obvious that Jude is ever so deeply trapped in the closet, and understandably so. His parents were very close minded, and his sister seems to share those same beliefs, leaving Jude scared & continually convincing himself that his “predilections” are nothing more than a casual hobby in fear of losing what little family he has left.

Woof.

And then Alec… I was so angry with him for what he was doing to Jude, even if I understood his petty motivations for doing it, but fuck it broke my heart 😭 I cried so much over these two, and while it all worked out in the end for them, I would have liked more groveling from Alec!

Dick and Denial

For once, this isn't a GFY story.

Jude is gay. He pretends sucking dick is just a hobby, but once he meets Alec, all bets are off.

Alec originally seduces (not that he has to try all that hard) Jude to prove a point.

Jude, raised by homophobic parents and older sister, bullied Alec in high school. Since then, Alec had a major glow up, so Jude doesn't recognize him.

When Jude learns the truth, he goes off the rails. This was melodramatic to the nth degree.

Mind you, Alec didn't do anything to Jude. Jude was the bully, but Alec somehow becomes the villain who has to apologize.

Lots of sex, little substance, poop/fart jokes. Jude's roommates provide comic relief.

The author's favorite word, bob/bobs, is used 21 times. Throats bob, heads bob, Adam's apples bob, dicks bob. Everything fucking bobs.

There's also a bizarre shout-out to Lily Mayne that was just WTF. Cora Rose is now using her books as vehicles for inside jokes. The audacity is real.

And I'm the fool who keeps reading them. It's a form of self-torture. I need therapy.

One More Time is a fantastic emotional romance between Jude and Alec. They have an instant connection that quickly escalates to something meaningful and intense. I enjoyed the emotional depth this story explored for both Jude and Alec. They both have complicated pasts and seeing their growth in the present was a well-executed aspect of their story.

Another great aspect of this story is the interactions between the housemates who were a great support system for Jude as he navigated his relationship with Alec. I was not expecting such emotional depth, as Jude and Alec went through such an intense journey of healing and acceptance.

Overall One More Time had amazing emotional moments while offering many surprises as well. So happy for Alec and Jude's HEA because they went through many obstacles to achieve it.

One More Time by Cora Rose was exquisite. This book took me on such a powerful journey. I did not expect to experience the depth of this book.

Jude is in denial about being gay. He thinks sucking c*ck is a hobby and brings him zen. Like meditation for him, if you will.

Alec is the new landlord for Jude and his roommates, but he also went to school with Jude, but he doesn’t recognize him. Jude was his b*lly in high school.

Side note- I love all of Jude’s roomies. 🫶🏻

Alec discovers Jude’s hobby and makes a deal with him. This leads these two down a path that will change everything.

I loved everything about this one. It’s ridiculously spicy and packs an emotional punch. It was also somehow hilarious. Hats off to you Cora Rose. This was a masterpiece.

Tropes: landlord/tenant, bully/revenge themes
Feels: 3/5
Steam*: 3.5/5
Kinks: n/a
Angst: medium
HEA: yes
Pairing: MM
Triggers/potential icks/content warnings: dead mom, abandoned by dad, homophobia, internalized homophobia, past bullying, revenge, third act breakup, OM drama early on (not cheating, but ambiguity around sex with others)

Jude and Alec are in their early to mid 20s. Alec is openly gay and a former band nerd who plays the saxophone, is close to his grandparents, and is Jude's new landlord taking over for his grandfather. Jude likes to call himself straight, but he says he has a "hobby" of sucking dick and says it helps him get his chi in line. Jude was raised by homophobic / intolerant parents, and then his older sister took over parenting him at age 13 when their mom died and Dad left, and she was homophobic too. Dude was a bully in his teens, he was going through s*** and he took it out on others. Jude is now a proud uncle, very involved. And through this book, one of the key conflicts is he's afraid that if he is gay, his sister is going to cut him out of the children's lives.

There was a bunch of things I liked about this book. The characters are interesting. I'm really intrigued by the other characters that Jude lives with. There's a lot of great potential for their stories to come. This book had the usual high steam and kookiness that Cora brings. Jude was obsessed with Alec and desperate for him. Jude was a really sweet with his niblings.

But I had a bit of a hard time warming up to this book. Alec was unlikeable to me at the start. Jude at least was obsessed with Alec and just attracted to Alec. But early on, Alec seemed to just be using guys, there was the twink (Killian), Laurent, and Jude all in a span of like 2 weeks. I later on understood why Alec was that way, but I needed earlier POV from him so I could start empathizing with him and finding him likable earlier. We first got Alec's POV at 29%. And I wish we'd seen non-sexual affection earlier.

Also, this one hurt me in my feels more than a Cora Rose book usually does. It dealt with a bit darker emotions. And just didn't have enough of the feel good positives to outweigh that, the way that her book Whit did (Whit dealt with even darker topics of suicide attempts and self-harm), but Whit had such love in every thread of the story that it will always be a comfort reread for me. I don't think One More Time is going to be a comfort reread for me, just hurt a bit too much to enter the comfort reread rotation.

But I will say, this book had groveling done really well. You know how sometimes a character doesn't grovel hard enough to earn the forgiveness that they get from their love interest? Sometimes you just want to beat the s*** out of the character and give them what they deserve? Well Jude's friends are doing exactly what I've wanted to do in so many situations and books - they pelted him with rotten produce and screamed at him and threatened him with a chainsaw. And honestly, Alec didn't even deserve to get it this bad. Sure he was s*****, but he's been actively groveling and putting in the work, he doesn't really deserve that treatment. LOL, but I applaud the protective friends and groveling. And it was good that they didn't get back together instantly they both put in the effort before they got back together.

Some notable moments:

Aw, Jude's vulnerability "“I can’t tell anyone. I can’t,” he says, his voice cracking. “You don’t have to. This is your life. You don’t owe anyone anything.” He nods and sniffles more, almost like he’s choking back tears. When this all started I wanted to see him cry, but now I can’t fucking stand it. It’s making me all sorts of miserable."

This hurts in the feels. Ouch. "I wheeze and then say, “I know I deserve it. I deserve all of it. I know that, but it still hurts, you know?” “I know. Let me make it better. Let me make you feel better,” he says, looking desperate, and then his eyes widen. “I’ll fuck you. I’ll totally fuck you.” I scoff and shake my head, feeling my eyes start to leak. “I don’t want that. Not anymore. Not with you,” I say and then turn my back on him, so he doesn’t have to see me cry."

"“No, Hayden. No, nothing like that. Though I appreciate the offer. I just…Alec and I…we’re together.” That last whispered word settles between us and Hayden frowns. “That’s it? Geez, Jude, I thought you were a criminal!” I gape at her, so confused. I’d expected something else, something mean, but she just looks relieved. “Yeah, that’s it. I’m, well, I’m gay.” She places her hands on her hips and scowls at me. “Well, that’s fine. I’m just glad you’re not dying or going to jail for murder.”"

*FYI about steam: I rate steam based on a combination of quality & quantity. I note kink separate from steam because I don't want to underrate steamy reads that don't have much kink.

**Note about spoilers: I like to comment on the plot of a book in reviews, so I almost always mark my reviews as containing spoilers. But I try to avoid spoiling the big dramatic moments! As a reader, I personally like to know what I'm getting into before I read a book so I know more about the content and if it's to my taste/mood, so I try to give that information in my reviews for myself when I'm considering rereading and also for other readers.

“Gay” is mentioned sixty five times in this book. Sixty. Five.

I honestly don’t know if she was trying to show how hard it is for people to accept themselves or what, but this entire book came off as homophobic as hell and is leaving me wondering how this is the same author that wrote Whit, Sem, and Emery.

One More Time gives us a chance to see the merging of Jude's hobby with Alec's need for redemption and a lot of sexual exploration... and then things get interesting.

I truly enjoyed watching these two men hover around each other and deal with their pasts and their presents to start working on a future...

You get the steam up front and the story follows, which was an interesting twist, but it kept me hooked!

I can't wait to see where the next book in the series goes

This book is about Jude whom we met in the first book, who has a hobby of sucking dicks but he is not gay. I liked Jude's character in the first book but I freaking loved him here and the depth of character was so beautifully written by Cora, I enjoyed this book so much.

Alec is the new landlord, who also happens to know Jude from high school because he was his former bully, so when he finds out about his dick-sucking hobby he plans to use it against him for revenge.
Jude has always liked sucking dicks but it feels different with Alec's or mostly Alec's dick, but he is also so deep in the closet because he fears anyone finding out and him losing everything.

Alec and Jude had amazing chemistry, I enjoyed their sex toy hobbies and their sexual chemistry was spicy as fuck. Even though I was a bit angry with Alec for what he was doing with Jude, I loved it when he tried to get him back and liked how Jude came out and wanted to be out and proud with Alec.

This story was beautifully written, it made me cry a little but also very satisfied with the HEA the characters got. I loved Ollie's character, he was such a sunshine and I am looking forward to reading his story, also Lucas was an amazing friend, that one scene when Alec came to grovel was so funny but also I love to see their friendship and how they had Jude's back, I am looking forward to his book as well.

4.5 “I’m not gay” stars⭐️

𝓐𝓻𝓬 𝓡𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝔀:
When i read the first book in this series all i wanted to do was read Jude’s book immediately and i was bummed that i had to wait months go get my hands on it. So you know when this arc arrived , i did nothing else but devour it.
Cora’s characters have to be on crack. High grade crack and i would love to get my hands on whatever shit they take😂😂 and Jude is the highest of them all.
Jude is a c*ck sucking hobbyist, yes it’s his hobby to suck c*ck and let me tell you guys, HE IS NOT GAY. Mhmm, nope , do not make that mistake , our Jude is definitely not gay. Just obsessed with gay hobbies. Totally different 😌.
Anyhoo😂 when his Landlord , who has a donkey sized dick(Jude’s words not mine) shows up on his doorstep ,guess whose c*ck is up on the hobby radar? Alec’s(who he bullied in the past but couldn’t recognize. Gasp!). And let me tell you Jude has standards. You won’t catch him sucking just any dick. No sir. It has to be quality dick . Gotta appreciate a hobbyist with taste and class

Antics and hobbies aside😂, this was an emotional book for me . Jude was sweet and vulnerable and seeing him come to terms with his repressed sexuality, due to upbringing, melted my heart.
I sympathized with Alec and his decision (albeit an extremely DUMB one) considering the stigma of bullying never really goes away. The insecurities and such.
I loved that they figured out a way that worked for them , forgave themselves and their pasts and accepting their mistakes and willing to forgo them for their love to thrive! (cue cinderella tears🥲)

I definitely still want to throw hands with certain side characters (lovingly of course) but i loved them all and can’t wait to meet them in their stories!!!

Surprising at every turn, I absolutely loved this! Jude is very definitely not gay. His best friend is gay, his favorite club is the gay club, and he performs fellatio to “find his Zen,” but he’s totes straight. While we wouldn’t say he’s thriving, he is getting by with a series of one-time BJs and his heavy denial, until he meets his new landlord, Alec. The chemistry between these two is explosive and sets Jude down a path of self-discovery he wasn’t prepared for.

This is a quick burn and it is HOT! Alec radiates BDE in and out of the sack, and he did not come to play around. Cora brings the heat with this one and it is unrelenting. Which makes it all the more impressive she managed to weave so much heart and story around it. The layers are deftly peeled back throughout the story, revealing not only what makes Jude tick, but also Alec’s ulterior motives for pursuing him. Combined with the way an inescapable love takes them over, I was completely enraptured by this story. Lovable (and unlikable) side characters and Cora’s humor in heavy doses round out this fantastic book.

Some might say not every Cora book can be my favorite Cora book, but damn if she doesn’t make it hard to pick! If you’re looking for a broad emotional spectrum, plus a heavy dose of spice, you’ll love this! Check CWs as needed.

It's finally Jude's book! One More Time is book 2 in the Timeless series, and if you have read A Minute More you would have met Jude, Wesley's housemate, who is very VERY STRAIGHT. Very straight. He just has a hobby and that hobby is 🍆💦 and he has his sights reluctantly set on the new landlord, Alec, but this isn't their first encounter.

I was expecting One More Time to be lighthearted, silly, and to giggle at Jude's shenanigans and it was that. But it was also deep. Jude is the way he is for a reason, and he broke my heart. This is a Cora Rose book so the angst is low and the laughs are loud and the side characters are OTT (in the best ways, this is a compliment!) but this one really hurt my heart too 😭 honestly I have probably cried at pretty much all of Cora's books I think because the hurting hurts more when everyone is usually a ball of sunshine, and also cos I cry at the first sign of sadness 😅

But the situation that Alec creates hurt and he had his reasons. There is grovelling, and it's grovelling with side character INSANITY 😂

I wanted to give Jude and Alec the biggest hugs. Jude is half closed and secretive and half so open and vulnerable, and I loved that. He could have been so unlikeable but he just wasn't. I was DESPERATE for Alec's chapters and his POV was just *chefs kiss*

AS ALWAYS I cannot wait to see what comes next from Cora Rose 💕

Just wanna give Jude a massive hug 🥹😭🥹😭

If you can make it past the first 10-15% of the OTT “Jude-ness” at the start of this book, it is so worth it! The character growth and development that Jude goes through was so reminiscent of Cora’s OG books I really enjoyed it. Even if it was equal parts heartbreaking and also lovely to read Jude & Alec fall in love and support each other.

Jude’s sister sucks major, but his brother is law gets all the gold stars!!!

Jude continued being a wonderful character in this book. It took me a long while to figure out who Alec was to him and why he looked familiar. The author dropped a lot of breadcrumbs along the way. I thought he was one of Jude’s ‘hobby’ hookups. These were two very sexy and attractive MCs with smoking hot chemistry turned to love. I think they loved each other early on, but it took a whole book to get to the saying of it. I loved the dual POV with Alec thinking he’s sticking to his course of getting a vengeance romance and saying to Jude in some terribly romantic scenes, “Why you? What are you doing to me?” I liked the dialogue in the sex scenes and those were combustible with Jude holding a losing hand of not being gay for Alec. I’m seeing that the author uses the big misunderstanding and lack of communication as plot devices as was done in Book 1 with Wesley and Simon. There was a big lie/secret being hidden, also like in Book 1. I thought the writing of those overused tropes was done better in this book.
There were good side characters, especially extremely charming Ollie and hunky Lucas. I did not care for the sister and was worried early on that I would have to ditch the book because of her mean spirited character, but she lightened up and her husband was very nice. A lot of scenes with the kiddies in this one, but they were cute and non intrusive. I did not care for the character of Jai and he obviously will be the love interest in the Lucas book. I’m not very enamored with the formulaic plot lines in these two books, but I like Lucas and Ollie the best, so I must read on. So, why the five stars? Well, it’s 4.5 and was just going to be 4 because of dusty tropes and a bogging down of the plot line after the middle, but the author did a very good thing, the story got better towards the end. The forgiveness between Jude and Alec was very well done and I really liked the ‘groveling lists’ and scenes. There needs to be a lot more groveling in MM romance! I enjoyed the paintball scene near to the end and the epilogue. It ended the book on a lovely up note for these star crossed lovers.

4.5 stars. “Tick tock.” that made me laugh out loud!

Jude is straight, if he says it enough he’ll believe it. He loves to suck the what rhymes on above. He does it on a regular basis, as a hobby (his words) It keeps his head clean, or else his brain makes overtime and that’s a bad thing.

Jude and his roommates got a new landlord, a gorgeous guy who looks familiar, but Jude can’t place him. Oh well, he looks great, with a great big… oh well, Jude is still straight.

Most of the time Jude doesn’t know what he’s doing, he tries, but it’s hard for him.
He doesn’t want to lose his sister or his niece and nephews, it’s all he got.
So yeah, without him being aware of it, he’s so far in the closet.

Playing wingman for his friend, (read: Jude finding a D to suck), guess who is also walking into the same bar. Yes guys, Alec, their landlord.

At home said landlord comes over to ‘meet’ Jude.
After one too hot encounter Jude knows it can’t happen again, he needs to find a new hobby.
But maybe first enjoy this hobby, because dang it tastes so good.

Then, we get to know Alec’s POV, omfg, I didn’t expect that! It gets hugely complicated.

While there’s fun, there’s also a lot of hurtful stuff going on. It’s kind of heart-wrenching, my heart hurt, my teeth clenched, you could feel the tension building and building, and wait until it all explodes.
Jude, sweet frightened Jude, when you understand his situation, you understand where all his issues came from. Alec is no different, he also has a story to tell, read it yourself!
Let’s not forget to mention the supportive and protective friends, Ollie my goodness, I loved Jude’s friends, but Ollie was fabulous!
What an eventful story, I loved it very much, all well written, captivating and emotional AF!

The story starts with Jude being a straight guy with a quite controversial hobby involving other not-so-straight guys.

It goes to show the lengths people will go to rationalize something when they don't want or aren't yet ready to accept the truth.

I liked that his friends humored him and accepted that him sleeping with guys was just a hobby. He obviously wasn't ready to face the possibility of his sexuality being something other than straight and the people closest to him didn't push him.

The relationship between Alec and Jude was mainly physical at first, especially since Alec had a secret. Though things moved quickly enough emotionally as well.

The characters were nice but didn't stand out. I already know that it's a story I'm going to forget very easily. It's an entertaining read but not one that will stay with me.

It's the second book of the series, but I started here and it was fine.

I don't think I've ever not given a Cora Rose book a 5 star, okay once. This book, this beautiful journey between Jude and Alec is so worth reading!!

I can't recommend this enough! I adore Cora's writing and the realistic aspects of life she brings into her book. It was also hilarious at times and I literally LOL'd a few times. Cora's amazing romance novels are unlike any others I've ever read and she will always be a one click author I will run to.

I loved both Jude and Alec! Ahh I just want to hug them both! They have been through so much but it was put together in such a funny and enjoyable way. 5 perfect stars

Love and evolution!

Jude and Alec's story was the perfect balance of drama, h3at and swoony moments. The story starts with Jude's total denial of who he really is. As things progressed I adored seeing the way he opens up about his past, and embraces new experiences with Alec. His evolution of character was such a strong plot point. Other highlights include Ollies unique brand of bestie v3ngence and Alecs dirt.3e mouth. Another short and enjoyable hit for Cora's catalouge!!

I just love her. She manages to conjure joyful, vibrant characters that make me cackle in the middle of the night and get misty eyed only pages later. She does romance so well but she also captures the human condition, uses loads of hyperbole, and I fucking love her sense of humor. The character flaws, the internal dialogue... It just works. The beanbag and the pants with bugs 🤣 I can't name too many authors that have such a casual style of writing that also totally takes you on a rollercoaster of usually good feelings. It's always usually fun... And this was no exception.

I struggled with this story. As a rule I love Cora Rose, her earlier work is up there in my forever favourites list, but her last couple of works have just lost the magic Cora Rose shine.
I did finish it, and it does have a HEA.
There were some cute and sweet parts and the story itself is a great concept. Maybe I’ve come to expect a different way of story telling from Cora? I’m just not sure.

«ARC REVIEW»

One More Time by Cora Rose is book 2 in The Timeless series.

« coming out »
« former bully/jock x nerd »
« landlord x tenant»
« revenge plot »
« first times »
« sex toys »
« hobbies »

I was thoroughly looking forward to Jude’s story after being introduced to his character and his so-called “hobbies” in A Minute More. I was expecting One More Time to be hot, fun, silly, and full of laughter from Jude’s shenanigans. It was all of those things – I was cracking up with laughter within the first page!
but I was not expecting the depth of emotion and Jude’s internal struggle.

Jude tries to hang on to the label of being “straight” for dear life. Jude considers himself a dick hobbyist. Sucking cock is just a hobby and a way for him to restore his chi and find his inner Zen. In his mind, it can’t be gay if it is just a hobby, right? Jude meets Alec, his new landlord. He is drawn to him from the beginning. There is a flicker of familiarity, but he can’t place it. Jude offers to engage in his “hobby” with Alec for a one-time thing. This just fuels Jude’s obsession for Alec. Soon, Jude has many hobbies – blowjobs, rimming, sex toys, sixty-nine, fucking; all just hobbies and he is totally not gay.

“ Tick tock. Give me cock. I mean, I’m not gay, but I do like dick. I have one of my own, and I enjoy it very much. Might be my favorite thing of all time. A nice little gift from above. And yeah, okay, I also like to suck cock. But it’s nothing more than meditative—a way for me to find my Zen. But I’m not into guys. Not at all.”

Alec is not only Jude’s new landlord, but they also went to high school together. Jude doesn’t recognize Alec as the kid he used to bully in high school. Alex radiates BDE in and out of the bedroom. He plans to use this combined with Jude’s “hobby” against him in his plot for revenge. As Alec gets to know Jude, he starts to see that his plan was a huge mistake. Jude tried so hard to suppress his sexuality. He has struggled with internalized homophobia from his upbringing and has legitimate fears about what being gay and coming out could mean for him. The moments of vulnerability between Jude and Alec when he starts to come to terms with his sexuality were so heartbreaking. Jude is so sweet and kind. Alec starts to realise this and he doesn’t want revenge anymore, but also doesn’t know how to tell Jude the truth without losing him.

“He’s still pressed against me and as much as my arm should drop from his shoulders, it just holds on a little tighter. Closer. Mine.”

This was a beautiful story! It was full of emotion and laughter. It was a story about redemption, acceptance (of others and yourself), and forgiveness. The side characters were really the cherry on top! Ollie kills me, he is truly the best, and I can’t wait for this story.

I loved Alec's character. While the reasons why he starts a relationship with Jude annoyed me, he managed to endear me to him because of all his sweetness and the support he gives Jude in the end.
Although it lacked a bit of depth in certain issues that are left hanging, they form a very beautiful couple that I enjoyed reading.

***ARC Review***

This is my honest and voluntary review for the ARC I received.

I loved Jude in A Minute More. Some of the things he said just made me pause and go “WTF?,” so obviously I was ecstatic when I learned that he was getting his own book! Lol

The first sentence/first paragraph/first page of this book is ah-mazing and makes you think that it’s setting this ridiculously humorous tone for the book. That’s partially true. However, Jude’s backstory is surprising and you gain an understanding of why he thinks/acts the way he does. This book goes deeper than I thought it would. I really just wanted to wrap Jude up in a big hug! (Also, I LOVE how much he loves his niece and nephews)!

Jude is going through some things in this book. He thinks he is straight, but has some “hobbies” that might suggest otherwise. Jude comes to terms with his sexuality in this book. He falls for Alec in the process of doing so. Alec is a bit more complicated as a character than I originally thought. He comes on the scene as the new landlord, but his backstory is unexpected as well.

Jude and Alec have intense chemistry. Their physical relationship progresses into something more significant as their feelings and connection grow. Both MCs want one another, but they also have some hurdles to overcome. There are some seriously vulnerable moments in this book, but Jude and Alec grow and heal in the process. The couple manages to get their HEA and Jude is able to achieve the peace of mind he’s been seeking for a long while.

The side characters in this book and series are an utter delight. Everyone has their own quirks and I am here for all of them! Ollie and Lucas are the best (and maybe the zaniest). I adored when they had Jude’s back! I enjoyed the snippets we saw of Simon, Wesley, and Izzy as well. Cora Rose has definitely created something special in this group of friends!

Amazing

I absolutely loved this book, Jude was one of my favorite side characters in A Minute More. In this book he made me absolutely love him.

He’s such a sweet and endearing character, I also love how funny he was. I found myself laughing out loud so many times because his inner monologue was absolutely hilarious.

His relationship with Alec was definitely a roller coaster of emotions. Jude’s emotions were so palpable that I could feel Jude’s sadness and heartbreak. It made me want to just wrap him in a blanket, hug him and tell him everything would be ok.

Another favorite aspect was the found family. I loved how Ollie, Lucas and Jai were so supportive and protective of Jude. All the side characters were great, I loved the interactions he had with his nephews and niece. Alec’s grandmother Helen so also amazing.

This book definitely had me laughing and slightly crying, when a book manages to make me feel so much it definitely becomes a favorite.

I absolutely recommend everyone to read it, the whole series is great and you will not be disappointed.

Thank you to Cora Rose and Chaotic Creatives for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book was a solid four stars for the majority of my reading. I thought Jude’s inner thoughts were absolutely hilarious and he was just a sweet little cinnamon roll. But, I just hadn’t read anything to push me to rate it higher. That was until Jude finds out Alec’s plan. His pain pushed this book to five stars. Cora wrote it so beautifully that I felt it. I cried right along with Jude. My heart and my stomach hurt for him. Especially when he kept repeating that he deserved it. Man. And poor Alec. Obviously he knew fucked up huge and wanted so badly to make it up to Jude. I’m glad they took some time to figure things out. Cora always gives us a glimpse into the future and I was so happy when I read where the boys were in their relationship. I’m really looking forward to the other roommates finding love. Lucas and Jai and Ollie and the man at the paintball range maybe?

Didn’t care for the side characters and will therefore not read their books.

The revenge plot thing was just dumb. The author should have let us see some flashbacks so we could see the actual damage Jude had apparently done.

So whatever years later Alec sees his Highschool nemesis who made obviously a 180 and plans a revenge?

Jude who’s picture is next to be word denial in the dictionary knows Alec from somewhere but couldn’t quite put his finger on it?

Jude explains his reasons for being an asshole on his teens and still Alec doesn’t say anything?

Alec forces Jude to see he is gay for revenge?

And what was the bar scene? What an asshole.

Man this book was a red flag.

Not recommended.
This review makes no sense to someone who didn’t read the book but I’m currently not capable of more.

I was in the mood for something a little ridiculous, toxic, and steamy and this has been sitting on my kindle for awhile. I’ve been a little hesitant based on some reviews, but was pleasantly surprised that it was hitting the spot. I was throughly enjoying it, but then was getting worried. Because here’s the thing—when there is a misunderstanding or secret, I NEED it cleared by no later than 50%. Once it goes past that, there isn’t enough time for the conflict and a satisfying resolution. So when the predictable happened I hated that it took too long. And when the separation became ridiculous and over the top and so freaking high school I had a hard time. Everything just felt bleh and ridiculous in a convoluted way—like it was trying too hard. And then with Jude’s sister. It was just meh? Like, he’s been struggling his whole life and it’s just “shrug, I’ll tolerate you because I spent too much time raising you” what?!?

The last 30% kinda killed this whole thing for me. I will say I am here for the roommates stories. I will read any books that come out in this series and just hope for the best.
