The good: it’s inexpensive, it’s strong enough for the intended purpose (and others) and it comes in a bulk roll
The bad: it unravels easily - doesn’t matter if it is cut with scissors or flame, it frays/splits and unravels at the end easily. Often with similar cord the wax or similar coating on the string when heat cut will melt and seal the threads together, this doesn’t. The splitting likely isn’t a huge concern because it will likely be tied at the end or tied to something else shortly after being cut before it splits apart too much.
Strong long lasting
I'm using it to hold up my tomatoes &cucumbers works well very strong.
Cons: It is a kind of plastic - just be aware of that!
I had used 3ply 2mm jute twine to trellis my tomatoes this year and in the last month of the growing season, when my plants were all 8ft tall packed full of tomatoes, the jute twine snapped on two thirds of my tomatoes. The jute twine had been in place from about June until late September to early October. Tomatoes are pretty strong plants and none of mine snapped the main leader when they fell. I replaced the jute twine with this tomato tying twine and trellised them up again. I went ahead and replaced the twine on the third of the plants that had not snapped yet. I only used this twine for three to five weeks before we the frost came and killed all the tomatoes after redoing the trellis. During that time frame none of this twine broke. This is the time frame when my tomatoes were the heaviest but due to the short duration of my use I can't really say how strong or resistant to breaking this stuff is.
I do like that the box is setup in a manner where you do not have to open it. You can pull the twine through a hole in the box and leave the twine contained in the box.
My attached picture shows the prone to fraying and the hole in the box that the twine dispenses from.
