Customers are mixed about the noise of the electronic component fan. Some mention that they are impressed by how quiet they are, with the dampening pads that help to reduce noise and extend the lifespan of the fan. They say that the sound at high speed is relatively pleasant. Others however, say that they were defective, making a quiet screeching sound from the bearing. They also mention that the fan starts making terrible grinding sounds and requires replacement. Some customers also report that the fans become super loud and rattle. They have a noticeable motor whine at all RPM's that almost overpowers the actual fan, and a humm and wind noise.

Customers are mixed about the performance of the electronic component fan. Some mention that it is a good product, keeping their system cool and running smoothly. They appreciate the super responsive PWM response and the high-quality bearing that ensures smooth operation and minimal noise. However, others say that it's not bad for lower rpm, some fans began squeaking, slowing down, and stopping about 2 weeks. They also say that the fans have bad performance against resistance and wind up hunting for speed.

-The Unboxing Experience;
The fans come in a nice box with all the add-ons you would expect;
Short and long screws, noise adapters and cable extension. You probably won't need to extensions since the cables are very long!
Fitting the fans on the Arctic II 280;
The problem with Arctic coolers is that the fittings for the tubes is a bit in the way so fans with big square fans like some Lian Li models often won't fit, the Toughfan 14 Pro's also have a big square frame, but fortunately they do fit, although it takes some time getting them on there, it's a very tight fit, and I made a small scrape on the plastic shroud under the fan trying to fit them on (that's really not a big deal but might give some the spooks).
-Performance;
Cinabench before: (83.9 C) after: (81.5)
But that's not the whole story;
According to reviews these fans should outperform the P14s, but not only they do so, they are also a lot more quiet when running at 50%~ speed.
They sound very pleasant on lower speeds and move A LOT of air.
They move so much more air through the radiator than the stock fans, I could definitely physically tell the difference was huge by simply putting my hand over my PC case as the rad is top mounted. Very impressive.
Looks;
The fans look great in my opinion; the color looks very nice irl, and the square frame looks very sleek. They definitely upgrade the look of the cooler.
Reliability;
Will update this review if something bad happens.
Conclusion:
This is a worthy endeavor if you stock radiator fans are bad or you just want ultimate performance. Supposedly these are some of the best if not the best radiator fans out there,They're also very good as case fans but I think there are cheaper options that will get you similar performance. It's definitely a premium product.
PWM changes do not sound, to my ear, like they are buzzing or emitting a high pitch wine. The consensus online was that it happened at around 1000-1100RM (50% fan speed). But my computer has a pretty relaxed fan curve. so it transistions between speeds much slower than normal, and I cannot discern any noise other than the air going through the fan.
My temperatures are excellent. in my current configuration, my CPU does not exceed 70°C and same with my GPU under full load. the airflow is from bottom to top, so the air is being exchanged in my system pretty quickly. the fans are dead silent at 30% so it keeps your system cool while staying silent.
Now did they get to the lower price point by tweaking Noctua's homework? maybe, I mean the fan blades do look very similar. plus the open bearing in the middle of the fan doesn't really strike me as original. But considering that the Phanteks T30 also looks like the NFa12x25 , but fatter, I don't think it really matters all that much.
To get this level of fan performance for a lower cost per fan compared to the competition is unmatched. Two of these fans for the price of one Noctua? That's crazy. However, the price is still on the high end for fans. I used to have a set of Arctic P12s that came in a 5-Pack. they were not as good, but were basically the same price as one Noctua fan.
Do I recommend them? Yes. Get these fans, you won't regret it.

Anyways, it works decently enough - but seemingly no better than the black Arctic P14 it replaced. In future I'd probably just get the Arctic if they can figure out how to make an ACTUAL white fan and not an off-white fan.
Pros:
Airflow to Noise Ratio: The standout feature of the ToughFan 12 is its exceptional airflow to noise ratio. Even under demanding tasks, the fans managed to maintain a cool environment inside my PC case without generating an excessive amount of noise. This is especially important for those seeking both performance and a peaceful computing experience.
Quality Build: The build quality of these fans is evident from the moment you unbox them. The durable construction instills confidence in their longevity. The materials used feel robust, and the overall design exudes professionalism, making them a suitable choice for any type of PC setup.
Aesthetics: The sleek design of the ToughFan 12 blends well with various case aesthetics. Whether you have a minimalist setup or a more elaborate RGB-themed rig, these fans offer a touch of elegance without being overly flashy.
Accessories: The inclusion of a Y-splitter, low noise cables, and radiator screws is a thoughtful addition. This not only simplifies the installation process but also showcases Thermaltake's attention to user convenience.
Minor Concern:
One observation I've made is that if the fan blades are stopped manually (for instance, by placing a hand on them), they may require a gentle nudge to start spinning again. While this behavior is likely a safety feature to prevent sudden jolts after obstructions, there's a small concern. If a temporary object gets into the fan and causes it to stop, it might lead to overheating before the user intervenes.
Overall, the Thermaltake ToughFan 12 case fans offer a compelling package with their impressive airflow, quality build, and thoughtful accessories. The minor concern about restarting after manual obstruction is noteworthy, but this is likely an intentional safeguard against potential hazards. Despite this, I recommend these fans for users seeking a reliable and efficient cooling solution for their PC case.
