the case is a quite sturdy backpack). To do this each leg is three ...
This my third time purchasing this product. This is not something to be banged around. It does indeed take some TLC to open and close. That said, It is not impossible to get many years of service from it. It is made to be light weight and collapse into a smaller manageable size (In fact, the case is a quite sturdy backpack). To do this each leg is three segments instead of two and is a lighter metal than other pop up canopies. Because of this each of the lightweight legs have to be extended and locked, as well as retracted, gently and best if you work out a system. The first one I owned I bought from Dick's and I destroyed it the same day by merely closing it up. Since all canopies can get bent and this was the only canopy that will fit in a trailer I pull behind my motorcycle, I had purchased their protection plan and had it replaced under warranty. When I bought it at Dick's it was $95! so that was money well spent. I am l glad this can be had for much less now!The second one I have used for the last 5 years without issue until it met it's demise in a surprise microburst. I use it as sun and rain shade as track marshal for car and motorcycle races as well as 3-day eventing horse trials. It has been a great lightweight pop-up and my peers prefer it over their own larger, heavier canopies.Three things to know, after knowing it needs to been opened and closed gently:If you feel it bind in any way, do not force it. Just gently wiggle a bit, see what is binding and slowly work out the issue. Sometimes the only issue is that if you pull on one side, the force is not evenly sent all around to the other ends of the canopy. All that is needed is to slow down and/or to observe that all the legs are able to move freely and evenly when expanding or retracting. Sometimes even grabbing two opposite legs and ensuring both operate evenly - NEVER force anything - and you will get many years of use.Second, it is not tall. I am 5'8" and I can stand under the point of it but not see out. Perfect if you use it to sit under, not so great as, say, a canopy over your market stand.Third, be prepared to roll up and secure the side flap. It cannot be detached and if you don't need it it needs to be secured, not just rolled up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect size for our needs.
Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2016
We have a small patio that we recently put a small (250 gal) hot tub that we wanted a little protection for. This canopy was just the right size and works out great. It was a little short, so I just got some cheap 5 gallon pails, filled the top one with bleach water, popped the lid on then put the canopy on top. I put 15lbs of weight on each leg and it has held up through some pretty gusty winds. Have only had a few weeks, but hopefully it will hold up for a long time to come.
It was really easy to set up and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Edit: Well after some heavy rain I could see a problem. It is nearly impossible to keep the top taunt with the little Velcro that holds the corners. The rain starts to pool on all 4 sides. So after some thought, and since this canopy was the perfect size for my needs, I found a work around. I bought a nice sturdy canvas 7x7'(6.5'x6'5 finished) tarp from tarpsupply[...]) for $32. I zip tied the eyelets through the upper netting to the frame. I took some para-cord and tied the corners down the legs to the weights(45lbs each leg) on the feet. Now the roof is actually nice and taunt and the rain just runs off as it should. The tarp was treated but I soaked it with a whole bottle of water/UV proofing spray. The canopy is now rock solid and stable, hopefully lasting for some years of use.

This is of course not practical if you want to fold this up and move it around or take it with you. My installation is semi-permanent and I can move it if I begrudgingly have to. I did just wanted to throw that out there about the roof sagging. Not much water dripped in and I just pushed the "pockets" up with a broom handle to dump out the water. But I knew for my purposes, that wasn't going to work for the long haul.
Still recommend and I am still sold on it because it's the right size. Those 10's are just huge and this is just right.
I am putting in some pictures of my "re-roofing" if someone else needs to do something like that.
