There is nothing lightweight or common in this series and this book. I'd highly recommend starting from the beginning and reading the whole story. It's informative about historical events, some of which are not well known to most readers, but there is nothing dry about the story it tells. The characters are real and I was easily drawn into the story from page 1.I love historical fiction and this is a wonderful read that I highly recommend.

I highly recommend this book and series if you love good characters and a constantly evolving plot within great historical contexts. I'm thoroughly enjoying my 2nd time in this series!
