I recommend this monitor for anyone with a high power gpu because you will need a good gpu to boost your frames to such a level in order to get the most out of this monitor.
Let's now shift over to the aesthetics. The monitor is visually stunning in my opinion. The externals are sleek, modern and black.
The functions of this monitor are also great. It is so easy to adjust the height up and down and to rotate the angle however you like.
To conclude, this is a great monitor for gaming and is also visually stunning.
Upon seeing these lines I had ordered a new display port cable that was vesa compliant and it didn't fix the issue. I had called the customer support for Asus and they were not knowledgeable at all. Literally no recommendations were given to resolve the issue besides "Check the cable".
Disgruntled at the incompetence I had decided to do my own research. These monitors panels are notorious for their QC issues. There are so many cases of monitors being defective it's baffling.
For 400+ dollars I expected a far superior product. Especially a product aimed at gamers who want the most out of their experience. I had thought I hit the "monitor lottery" with this one, but like other disappointed customers I found out later down the road I had not.
My recommendation is to do a lot of research before purchasing this. This monitor has QC issues and the integrity of Asus should be questioned. There is a serious lack of attention to detail here and the issues are present for many others, not just myself. I cannot suggest to anyone that they use their money to purchase this product, there is too much hassle and risk associated with this product.

144Hz and G-sync allows for smooth gameplay with 0 screen tearing regardless of fluctuations in fps.
Monitor's height is adjustable and can be titled.
The gaming overlays, specifically the crosshairs are pretty useful.
The low-blue light filter makes this monitor also a decent monitor to spend long hours doing school work or business.
Cons:
Pricey for a monitor that looks horrible straight out of the box. The calibrations take a long time, and I still think that the color representation on this monitor is poor.
Past 60Hz, there are thin horizontal lines that run across the screen from one side to the other. It's only really noticeable if you're looking for them, or if you open the start menu on windows 10.
No sharpness setting
Ridiculously bright. Even if I lower the settings to 0, the monitor was brighter than my previous one. I had to install back lighting to combat eye strain.
Custom color settings (RGB) do not stay to the settings I put them on when switching between blue light filter on and off.
I wish I could give this screen a 3.5/5, but seeing as half ratings don't exist, this monitor lies closer to 3/5 stars than 4/5.
If the color representation were better, then I'd rate this screen much higher.
I had to RMA my previous monitor for those scan lines (which were much more apparent, giving me eye strain). The newest one I received still has them, but they're significantly less visible
I did find switching between overclock to get those epic hertz was a bit of a joyride for any programs you have open at the time, my set up having two monitors it would move your programs between the two until the "restart" is complete and sometimes switch from primary to secondary display so you gotta go into windows to set that almost every time
It's a TN panel, but that's okay, the TN panel here is almost as good as an IPS save for the viewing angle.
The way I have configured is connecting both the HDMI and displayport to this monitor at the same time. By default HDMI is used and the picture quality especially the black levels are much better when connecting via HDMI, and then I switch to displayport for G-Sync as needed. If you get a model without backlight issues I think it's a keeper. I had to return 2 before I got one without erratic backlighting.
The low blue light filter and flicker-free are highly valued by me and they work wonderfully. I returned a Dell S2417DG because it didn't have low blue light filter.
example: on screen frame-rate, it’s easy to toggle on - but there seems to be no way to turn it off. i had to google it it figure it out.
the quality of display is top notch. would recommend.
