About this item
- The wide angle adaptor ring from LEE is crucial to the LEE Filters system, allowing you to attach the LEE100 filter holder to your wide-angle lens.
- The adapter ring screws on with a fluid action, thanks to the sturdy construction and aluminium screw thread.
- All the LEE100 wide-angle adaptor rings are suitable for use with wide-angle lenses. They differ from the standard adaptor rings by sitting closer to the front element of the camera’s lens, dramatically reducing the likelihood of vignetting on lenses with a focal length of 16mm or more (10mm with a crop sensor)
- Please check the thread size on the front of your lens before purchasing
- We know what it takes to produce precise, reliable, and repeatable results. Our continual investment in research and development allows us to embrace new technologies and adapt to the ever-changing needs of our customers. It’s our ability to meet these needs that has kept us at the forefront of filter manufacturing in the UK for half a century

As a result, the likelihood of vignetting is dramatically reduced.

But here's what I did that fixed it - I ordered an 82mm amazon basics UV filter (about $10). I broke the glass, screwed it onto my Tokina and then was able to crew the adapter ring on without any issues. In fact, now the Lee adapter ring is threading onto and off of metal threads, which will eliminate the risk of cross threading the plastic threads on the Tokina.
I've included pictures of my camera on live view shooting against a white wall to accentuate any vignetting. The first picture it is at 11mm with the Lee filter holder mounted at a typical 90% angle and you can see just the slightest shadow of vignetting. The second picture shows how that goes away by 12mm. The third picture has the Lee filter holder at a 45% angle and you can see prominent vignetting at 11mm, but in the 4th picture it shows how it goes away in that orientation by 13-14mm. My camera is a Canon SL2 so there is a 1.6x crop factor.
All in all it's an easy $10 work-around and I get to use the Lee filter system with my wide angle lens as long as I'm mindful of the corners. I hope this helps!

I cannot tell you how much fun I'm having now and the whole new world this has opened up for me and my photography.
Is it pricey? Yep! Is it worth it? You better believe it :)
Much easier to use than I had thought, by the way.
I'm shooting a Nikon D7000 with the Tokina 11-16 and have not had any vignetting.
If you're on the fence about the cost here's my suggestion… don't put any $ into trying other systems, just start your savings with that money until you can go for it, you won't be sorry!!!
I had both a 70-200mm and a 16-35mm which had a 77mm thread - both of which I loved to use with 100x100 filters.
This adapter ring allowed me to affix my filters in a way (to the Lee foundation kit) so that the holder of adapter ring were not visible in the frame.
Perfect fit. Perfect threads. Perfect results
