I was testing the best place to locate it in my house, when the signal just stopped, and no amount of restarting/recalibrating would get it to connect again --.
45 minutes after hookup, and it was as dead as a doornail --.
Then my wife noticed that the ad for this unit on the Amazon page was a direct duplicate of another unit - down to the exact comments, photos, etc. So - they obviously just copied another repeaters page and dropped it into their own --. The customer photos of the 2nd unit don't even match the pictures of their unit --! So - best to avoid this item!
Went through set up and everything seemed fine, but I couldn't get any devices to connect to the wifi extenders networks. This may be due to different router settings which I'm going to try to troubleshoot today but if nothing works I'll be returning for a refund.
Con: performance dropped after 8 months. Devices connected to it suffered from very slow and unstable internet access.
I placed the repeater next to the router and checked download performance using a tablet to verify the issue.
Direct from the router: 2.4: 54 Mbps; 5.0: 359 Mbps.
Through the repeater: 2.4: 5 Mbps; 5.0: 20 Mbps
I HAD it set up before....now it's just broke after a couple months.
AVOID
I gave an extra Star, up from 1 because it actually worked for a while.
