These lights are expensive. You can buy a whole set of landscape lights for the cost of one Hue Lily spotlight. That said, these lights are well worth the cost. They are very well built and well designed. They cast more light than any landscape spotlight I have seen. We live in Minnesota where the winters are cold and the summers can be hot. We have never had any issue with these lights failing in these harsh climate conditions.
What I like about Hue lights is the seemingly endless options available for lights colors and vibrance. There are multiple apps available from Philips and third parties that allow these bulbs to show their full spectrum of possibilities. I can set an endless array of color patterns and lighting effects ... all from the app on my iPhone.
Installation is simple. The included cable is easy to connect to the Hue power pack (sold separately). The cable uses a threaded fitting that ensures a solid waterproof connection that is never at risk of being disconnected.
The lights create their own wifi network which is very convenient for outdoor applications. The instructions state that the first light must be within 30 feet of the Hue hub (sold separately). My experience is that they will reach well beyond that distance. Each successive light can be within 60 feet of a connected light. Again, my experience suggests the lights will extend well beyond that stated range. Why is this important? The wifi network the bulbs create for themselves is what allows the app to change light colors and intensity. I have never experienced sluggishness or delays when changing light colors. From app to light the change is instantaneous.
I highly recommend Hue outdoor lights to anyone looking for a unique approach to outdoor lighting. These lights will allow you to realize whatever your mind can think of ... and more.

After reading the reviews and noting lots of comments about having to replace faulty T-connectors I proactively wrapped each connection with black electric tape in an effort to prevent water damage/corrosion to the metal pins. Only time will tell if it works, but I'll just sit back and enjoy the view for now. These are pricey, but I was able to find these on sale and even when adding an additional lamp it was still a slightly better price then the 4pack at Costco.
The Lily lights (5 of them) are no exception. They work well and serve my purpose-to light up my front garden area with accent colors.

I won’t lie. I have seen nicer colors with Lifx and even some Govee-BUT…and a big BUT….they rely on WiFi and eventually clog bandwidth if you keep adding their products…and many of their updates result in many firmware issues. Not to mention their build quality just isn’t at quite the level as Hue (well, Govee definitely isn’t up to par with Hue for sure).
Things to definitely know: Like all Philips Hue lights, they work with Alexa, Google and YES!!! HomeKit (seamlessly). I love their integration into my HomeKit environment.
In order to use Dynamic scenes they need to be updated (so don’t go freaking out like I did). Just update them manually in the app or let them update automatically. So don’t call or hunt Hue down. 2nd…only 40 watts can be handled by the included power pack..so 5 regular Lily’s maximum OR a combination of products-not to exceed the 40 watt threshold. You can buy the $89 (holy smokes-that’s expensive) power pack which handles significantly more wattage.
Bottom line:
Pros:
Hue’s reliability
Well built
Great colors,
Works with HomeKit (and other platforms)
Easy to install and link together with the connectors and extension cables…so so simple.
Uses the Zigbee protocol. No bandwith issues on your home WiFi.
Cons:
Super expensive-but so are all of Hue’s products.
