This is my first "mini" MIDI keyboard, as my other is an 88-key Yamaha. The form factor of the 25 key layout was the primary need. After several weeks of use, I can report this unit has been rock solid. From the first time moment I connected via an USB3 port, it neatly integrated with FL Studio, and has worked without a hitch. Here are a few of my thoughts:
Pros:
- Pads are nice, and seem to respond to velocity with aggressive tapping
- Session control buttons: loop, play, record, stop are positioned perfectly over center of keyboard, and make using the DAW a dream
- Keys have decent tactile feel
Cons:
- Minor nitpick, but it seems the touch sensitivity could be re-calibrated.. I find myself banging on the keys at times :)
- No other issues.. I really enjoy using this keyboard
Overall I feel that I made the right choice going this route over the Akai or Novation Launchkey
[Edit] As a follow-up, I've finally gotten it to at least register in Mixcraft, though it still won't actually do anything. The only reason I've made it this far is because of the awesome people at Mixcraft customer support, who have pretty much been walking me through getting this resolved non-stop. Guess how many responses I've received from M-Audio's customer support. Zero. Zee-ro. 0. Will absolutely never purchase another M-Audio device.
[New Edit] I eventually got it working, and have been using it for about 2 months now. So far it's doing everything it's supposed to do, so I've changed my review from a 1-star to a 5-star to reflect the quality of the device rather than the quality of their customer service.
If you find yourself facing a similar issue, just make sure your device is on, go into your Device Manager, and select "Sound, Video, and Game Controllers". You should see the Oxygen-25 listed with a yellow exclamation point to the left of it. Just right-click Oxygen-25 and select "update drivers". That should fix it.
I spent a lot of time getting the correct driver installed and up and running for Cakewalk Daw and windows 11 that would operate my M-Audio Oxygen 25 MKIV. I finally ended up using Pro Tools driver. All good now.

And the build quality and durability is just..Awesome..
This m-audio keyboard shows it's presence. And is compatible to all DAW's . Iam using this with FL Studio and satisfied .
Pros:
- Easy to install, simply plug n play.
- Easy to configure with Studio One Artist, took a few Google searches to initially find out how but it's one of those things that once you know, you know.
- Takes up very little space on my desk.
- Keys feel like the real deal, nice and responsive
Cons:
- Portability 2* - technically super portable, it's so light. However, when you're using it, do not move it. The device in Windows will corrupt and you maybe have to turn it off and on, and even move it to a different USB port. If you are like me and happy to just leave sitting where it is, 95% of the time you'll have no issue. The other 5% you can just flick it off and on by the switch on the back if the DAW has stopped registering your key strokes.
- Initially this took me a while to work out how to program the knobs etc. in. I haven't used the DAW that came with the keyboard yet, I believe this is more plug and play. My advice would be to forget any of the features that look like they are available on the keyboard and follow instructions from Studio One on setting up the keyboard as a MIDI controller. Once I did this it all became much easier.
Generally I would recommend this device to a friend, but I haven't tried any others. If this died and it was out of warranty I may be tempted to try another model purely because of the device corrupting when you move the keyboard around. However it's kind of good that this happens as I'm sure the USB cable and input will last a lot longer not being dragged around by me moving the keyboard from the desk to my lap. I just assume that people who may like to use this sitting on an unstable surface (like on their bed) may have problems. This might not be the same if you are using a Mac, I can not vouch for this as I haven't tried.
