Neato will have difficulty with thick shag rugs or carpet – we recommend that carpet and rug fibers be 15mm / 0.6 in or less. Neato may also have trouble with carpet made of synthetic fiber, even if it is 15mm/ 0.6 in or less.

Works great. Picks up way more hair and fort than my last vacuum. Make sure to do firmware updates as soon as you get it!

I love my Neato! I have it clean either once or twice a day, depending on the family members' and the dog's foot traffic.  The dog and my husband are in and out all day. I did upgrade the battery to a bigger one I got from Neato that lasts about an hour longer than the one that comes with the vacuum. It cleans the rugs (I have throw rugs). I do lift my bathroom rugs every morning and shake them onto the floor because they don't have a rubber backing to hold them down. I love how it's even clean under my beds and under furniture that my regular vacuum can't navigate. My house is always clean and it's such a good feeling. We have the Neato situated under a piece of furniture so it doesn't get in anyone's way and it always finds its way back.

The vacuum finds a lot of dust with every run. It usually gets stuck on cables, may be 20% of  the time.

OK for the price

Setup was a breeze, however it says it wants a software update and the update will not complete.  Working with Neato support, but no resolution so far.  It has been at least 2 weeks.  No update or estimate on when they might get back to me.  Only that it has been escalated over a week ago.
Vacuum still works, I just constantly get reminded that it needs a software update.

This is my second Neato D3 Connected robot. My first lasted 1 year and 7 months before the motherboard became defective and as a result, the botvac didn't accept a charge. The second robot (this one) lasted all but 5 days before it started saying "Empty the dirt bin and filter" -- even AFTER I emptied the dirt bin. I found this step online which I didn't have to do with my first robot: press on the rubber dirt filter button to reset the error. I did that and it worked the first time. A week later, and the error came back and wouldn't go away no matter how many times I pressed the rubber button. So I just returned it and bought a Roomba 960.

My second defective Neato Botvac D3 Connected

I had it for about 2 months before it stopped connecting to wifi I have tried everything from emailing to calling neato can't get it to connect.

I have had this for a bit over a month. I have to reconnect to the internet every day and now the red info light keeps flashing and will not tell me why. I will be returning this to Walmart and buying batteries for my old Neato. Thanks for selling cheap crap under what used to be a good name.
