About this ebook

While a war rages in space, a revolutionary group of humans, shapeshifters, and telepaths gather to prove their races can live together in peace. They believe in peace enough to erase their memories and begin a primitive city on a secluded planet, Vastus. Generations later, conflicts on Vastus force people to flee their city. Meanwhile, a few Peace Bringers arrive on a broken-down space station to observe the inhabitants on Vastus. What they see is anything but encouraging, and they must deal with problems of their own. Vastus Station is falling apart, and the relationships between the occupants are equally precarious.

I loved this book it was a great story of a special girl not knowing just how special, after being horribly treated by the people who are supposed to take care of of you. Then the struggle of her escape to a place where her strength comes to bear and is taken in by new people, also plenty of action swordplay, archery and hand to hand fighting. Of course what good story like this would not be good without dragons (even the twist on the dragons is very original ). Then you have a Sci Fi side of a race of humans and telepaths watching the progress of the world especially our Ani from a space station. It may sound like it wouldn't be able to mesh but, Jaron Osiar makes the 2 genres fit together like 2 Legos.

About the author

Vastus is a four-book series that is told from multiple perspectives. The series follows a small group of Peace Bringers on an old, crumbling space station who are trying to stop a war by proving peace among their species is possible. They observe dragons, elves, humans, unicorns, and telepaths on a large island. A teen who is part elf, human, and telepath catches the Peace Bringers attention. Unfortunately, conflicts among the cities on Vastus make even desperate Peace Bringers skeptical.
